This most recent season of the Walking Dead has been pushing the limits of what can be shown on primetime television and it is pushing the cast of the AMC hit show towards a healthier lifestyle.

In a recent interview with online network radio show Guilty Pleasures, Norman Reedus, explained that because of the gory graphic effects on the show he has become a vegetarian. " Im kind of bummed about it," Reedus explained. Reedus is not the only cast member to switch to becoming a vegetarian, Metro reported.

Sources close to the set have explained that the meals have become mostly meat-free and that the cast is turned off because of the realistic graphic effects. The craft service area explained that the cast and crew never seemed to touch the meat or chicken that was offered, MTV added.

The Walking Dead is currently airing on Sunday's on AMC and the show premiered with over 17 million viewers. The show has already been picked up for another season before it premiered on Oct. 12th.
