Every meat eater in the world has always wondered how a vegetarian can survive without tasting something as basic as chicken. There are many famous Indians who have taken the meat-less route. The world's oldest marathon man, 102-year-old Fauja Singh, is a strict vegetarian who has also appeared in a campaign by animal rights group PETA.

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi also refrains from non-vegetarian food. It may come as a surprise but Olympian wrestler Sushil Kumar is a vegetarian by birth! To popularise vegetarianism, he has appeared in pro-vegetarian PETA ads as well. Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore who reshaped Bengali literature and music was a vegetarian till the end of his life.
