The Kroc Center offers many programs and classes designed to facilitate personal development and life-long learning for children and adults.

BASIC WINDOWS COMPUTER CLASS: Including Internet and Email Primarily using Windows 7, this course will cover the practical use of the Windows operating system. Building from the basic skills you develop, we will show you how to do the most common and useful computer tasks such as going on the internet and using email. During the course there will be frequent hands-on practice and ample time for us to answer your questions on the material. In later course sessions we will devote more time to your individual questions and to additional practice. Also near the end of the course we will offer a brief overview of Windows 8 for those of you who are planning to update to that system. Day: Tuesdays, 10am 12pm Sessions: 10/14 11/18 (no class on 11/4) 11/25 12/16 Location: Administration building Community Room Registration fee: $15

Day: Tuesdays, 12:30 2:30pm Sessions: ongoing from 10/14 12/16 Location: Education Center Computer Lab, Education Building By Appointment Only. Arts and literacy come together for a fun and engaging series of evenings. Each night features a themed presentation by one of San Diegos premiere cultural institutions and an interactive art project from Young Audiences. Each family takes home a new book related to the evenings theme! Takes place in the Education Center Multipurpose Room 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted. Free Parking and Admission!

NOVEMBER 20, 2014: Books Alive Its a special version of Music With a Twist of Mimes classic program Books Alive. Mr. K and Stu Mulligans performance features mime, music, juggling and audience participation. Learn about Commedia dellArte style of theatre derived from Italian mime. Jerry Hager leads a mime workshop and Christina Thurston demonstrates a 3D collage of the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

JANUARY 29, 2015: The San Diego State University Performing Arts Troupe The Golden Age of Radio comes to Family Arts and Literacy Night. The San Diego State University Performing Arts Troupe (under the direction of Jerry Hager) brings new life to old time radio as they present a broadcast for todays audience filled with music, sound effects, comedy and lots of fun!
