Draymond Green knows that Kelly Oubre has made a living as one of the best perimeter defenders in the NBA. Though the newest Golden State Warriors swingman has slowly grown to being an offensive threat, Oubre has consistently been one of the fiercest backcourt defenders since he entered the NBA in 2016.

On a recent sit-down with Warriors media, the Louisiana native tipped his hat to one of the best two-way players in the league that inspired him to be who he is right now.

One person that I always give credit to is Jrue Holiday, Oubre said (via Warriors Wire). He is a great defender because he knows where to put his body in spots so that he doesnt waste movement. He knows how to get through screens, how to push you through [dribble hand-offs], things like that.

Holiday, whos bringing his talents to Milwaukee Bucks and join the reigning two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, is hands down one of the best in terms of being able to switch it up offensively and defensively. While being a two-time member of the NBA All-Defensive Team, Holiday was averaging 19.7 points per game and 6.8 assists in his last three seasons with the New Orleans Pelicans. Not a bad guy to draw inspiration from for the new member of the Warriors.

For Oubre, hes hoping to do a little of everything as he joins a Warriors squad that has high expectations of him. He was brought in to fill in for Klay Thompson at the starting unit which obviously means he has gigantic shoes to fill. That said, Oubre seems to be locked and ready to roll for Dub Nation. In his second and last season for the Phoenix Suns last year, Oubre was one of the teams main defenders while averaging career highs of 18.7 points per game and a 35.2% shooting clip from distance.
