Shes the first global cover girl for Cosmopolitan magazine, and Katy Perry is featured on the front of a whopping 63 editions of the popular publication for July 2014.

The Dark Horse songstress was interviewed by Chelsea Handler for the story, which covered Perrys penchant for high-profile relationships including a failed marriage to Russell Brand and an on/off arrangement with John Mayer.

Of her divorce, Katy shared, I guess I happen to be attracted to high-frequency men. It feels like a hundred lifetimes ago, so its like digging up an old grave. A lot of therapy has happened and a lot of understanding and growth.

Sometimes you have to go through all this sh*t to get your grips on life and figure out what the next boundaries in your love life are going to be. You have to go through the mud in order to find that peaceful place. In the long run, it was necessary for me to have more of a teammate.

When Handler asked if shed ever hook up with Mayer again, Perry replied, I know it sounds really hippie-sh*t, but Im living in the now and not fantasizing about the future or (being) torn up about the past. Im super Eckhart Tolle. I have a lot of respect for (John) still, and I know it goes both ways. Theres no bad blood, but Im sure there will be inspired songs.

Chelsea inquired about how long Katy has gone without a bedroom romp, to which she replied, Maybe six months or a year. I dont stay single for long. Im not like Professor Higgins with my sex life. Im not super strict. For one, the most important thing about sex is connection.
