PM Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated a month-long exhibition titled "Sabarmati Shatabdi- Ek Karyanjali" at Sabarmati Ashram's gallery as part of the ashram's centenary celebrations.

Kumar spent around 40 minutes in the ashram today along with state Congress leaders Bharatsinh Solanki and Shankarsinh Vaghela. The war I am fighting right now is to uphold the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi.

She will contest against NDA's Ram Nath Kovind in the July 17 presidential election.

When Kumar filed her nomination papers in Parliament on Wednesday, she said the Congress-led Opposition represented "the true legacy, thought and ideology of Mahatma Gandhi".

"I have come to gain some power from this place". Kartikeya Sarabhai, trustee of Sabarmati Ashram Preservation & Memorial Trust, said that the exhibition displays for the first time numerous documents related to the ashram's history - such as the sales deed of the land, account book of the ashram, the Mahatma's correspondence from the ashram and so on.

"I wish that the people of this region make progress". PM Modi was also seen spinning a charkha at the ashram.

Upon her arrival at the airport here last night, Kumar had said, the election is a "battle of ideologies" and not a "Dalit versus Dalit" fight. This is what Gandhi Ji wanted for the country and for the world.

After meeting the Congress MLAs on Friday, Kumar will interact with the media in the afternoon, said Patel.
