Team UTC celebrates CariFin All Fours Victory
There was an air of excitement that pervaded the atmosphere of the 24rd Edition CariFin Games All Fours competition as excited players representing teams from the participating institutions of the financial services sector came together to see who has the top players in All Fours (a national card game of Trinidad and Tobago.) From table to table sounds punctuated the air with expressions of excitement and celebration as players gain favorable positions on their opponents. The room at the Atrium located at the Guardian Group building, 1 Drive West mooring, on Saturday May 16, 2015 was not without the flurry of words like, hang jack, trump, ace that you would expect from a tournament like this and there was many coming from tables all around. I really enjoyed myself at this event above all else so far. was the feelings of Tesson Event Manager for the Games.
It felt great to win after overcoming all the odds in the finals. Being 4 nil down in a best of 9 series is a very difficult task to overturn. I am very proud of the overall performance of my team and we are looking forward to defending our title at the next CariFin All Fours Tournament.
UTCs All Fours team captain Darin Ramroop was happy about his teams success at CariFin All Fours tournament coming from 4 down situation was no easy task and it shows the team competitive spirit, their sense of purpose and leadership to be able to rebound from an apparent loss and turn it to victory. UTC was able somehow to win its last 3 matches with JMMB losing a hard fought final to take runner up position. Team UTC was represented by Jamila Phillip-Charles, Crystal Noel, Sheldon Fields, Anton Manswell Bashiri De Graff, Darin Ramroop, Calvin Felician and Jomo Wilson.

Spiritual Practices | Science of Mind
Posted: May 22, 2015 at 8:41 am
There are three primary spiritual practices advocated by Science of Mind magazine and the Centers for Spiritual Living: affirmative prayer, meditation, and visioning. Practicing these three tools on a daily basis has resulted in profound changes in the lives of numerous readers and community members.
Science of Mind uses a five-step affirmative prayer called spiritual mind treatment. The five steps are:
1. Recognitionknow that God is all there is.
2. Unificationknow that you are one with God.
3. Declarationstate your word for the circumstance you want to manifest.
4. Thanksgivinggive thanks for your word being acted upon by the Law of mind.
5. ReleaseAnd so it is!
There is no beseeching to or urge to compel an outside entity in spiritual mind treatment. As Ernest Holmes states in The Science of Mind:
Effective mental treatment is propelled by a consciousness of love and a realization that the Creative spirit is always at work....A treatment should be given in a calm, expectant manner and with a deep inner conviction of its reality, without any fear or any sense that the human mind must make it effective. The work is effective because the Law is always in operation.
In The Science of Mind, Ernest Holmes defines meditation as:
Transhumanist FAQ – Humanity Plus
Posted: May 21, 2015 at 2:56 pm
The Transhumanist FAQ was developed in the mid-1990s and in 1998 became a formal FAQ through the inspirational work of transhumanists, including Alexander Chislenko, Max More, Anders Sandberg, Natasha Vita-More, Eliezer Yudkowsky, Arjen Kamphius, and many others. Several people contributed to the definition of transhumanism, which was originated by Max More. Greg Burch, David Pearce, Kathryn Aegis, and Anders Sandberg kindly offered extensive editorial comments. The presentation in the cryonics section was, and still is, directly inspired by an article by Ralph Merkle. Ideas, criticisms, questions, phrases, and sentences to the original version were contributed by (in alphabetical order): Kathryn Aegis, Alex (intech@intsar.com), Brent Allsop, Brian Atkins, Scott Badger, Doug Bailey, Harmony Baldwin, Damien Broderick, Greg Burch, David Cary, John K Clark, Dan Clemensen, Damon Davis, Jeff Dee, Jean-Michel Delhotel, Dylan Evans, EvMick@aol.com, Daniel Fabulich, Frank Forman, Robin Hanson, Andrew Hennessey, Tony Hollick, Joe Jenkins, William John, Michelle Jones, Arjen Kamphius, Henri Kluytmans, Eugene Leitl, Michael Lorrey, mark@unicorn.com, Peter C. McCluskey, Erik Moeller, J. R. Molloy, Max More, Bryan Moss, Harvey Newstrom, Michael Nielsen, John S. Novak III, Dalibor van den Otter, David Pearce, pilgrim@cyberdude.com, Thom Quinn, Anders Sandberg, Wesley R. Schwein, Shakehip@aol.com, Allen Smith, Geoff Smith, Randy Smith, Dennis Stevens, Derek Strong, Remi Sussan, Natasha Vita-More, Michael Wiik, Eliezer Yudkowsky, and zebo@pro-ns.net
Over the years, this FAQ has been updated to provide a substantial account of transhumanism. Extropy Institute (ExI) was a source of information for the first version of the Transhumanist FAQ, version 1.0 in the 1990s. WTA adopted the FAQ in 2001 and Nick Bostrom added substantial information about future scenarios. However, with the contributions of close to hundred people from ExI, Aleph, Transcedo, and WTA, and the UK Transhumanist Association. New material has been added and many old sections have been substantially reworked. In the preparation of version 2.0, the following people have been especially helpful: Eliezer Yudkowsky, who provided editorial assistance with comments on particular issues of substance; Dale Carrico who proofread the first half of the text; and Michael LaTorra who did the same for the second half; and Reason who then went over the whole document again, as did Frank Forman, and Sarah Banks Forman. Useful comments of either substance or form have also been contributed by (in alphabetical order): Michael Anissimov, Samantha Atkins, Milan Cirkovic, Jos Luis Cordeiro, George Dvorsky, James Hughes, G.E. Jordan, Vasso Kambourelli, Michael LaTorra, Eugen Leitl, Juan Meridalva, Harvey Newstrom, Emlyn OReagan, Christine Peterson, Giulio Prisco, Reason, Rafal Smigrodzki, Simon Smith, Mike Treder, and Mark Walker. Many others have over the years offered questions or reflections that have in some way helped shape this document, and even though it is not possible to name you all, your contributions are warmly appreciated.
The Transhumanist FAQ 3.0, as revised by the continued efforts of many transhumanists, will continue to be updated and modified as we develop new knowledge and better ways of accounting for old knowledge which directly and indirectly relate to transhumanism. Our goal is to provide a reliable source of information about transhumanism.
Thank you to all who have contributed in the past and to those who offer new insights to this FAQ!

EFL 1.14 and Enlightenment 0.19.5 are out - go to our Download page.
Enlightenment started as a project to build a Window Manager for X11. That was way back in 1996. It has grown much since. It still produces this Window Manager, but it has evolved to also cover Mobile, Wearable and TV UI needs for projects such as Tizen as well as traditional the desktop UI. We still push out releases, so see our download page for more details on the latest releases, or see our contribute page for source code repositories in their latest development state.
It also is in the transition from X11 to Wayland. We are fully committed to moving to Wayland eventually as this is definitely the future of the graphical display layer on Linux.
We still primarily support Linux for Enlightenment, but there is some effort (based on help and support from users and some developers) to support the BSDs.
In the process of developing a Window Manager, A set of libraries were developed in order to achieve that goal. These libraries are known collectively as EFL. They cover a range of functionality from main-loop, to graphics, scene graphs, networking, widgets, data storage, IPC and much more.
We now are starting to pull in bindings support directly into EFL. We are working on having bindings auto-generated for C++, Lua and Javascript (v8/node.js). We also would like to pull in our Python bindings in the future so we can support as many languages as possible and keep them up to date.
For our libraries, our primary development environment is Linux, but we make an effort to support the BSDs as fully as possible, as well as OSX and Windows.

Performance – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Posted: May 20, 2015 at 11:42 pm
A performance, in the performing arts, generally comprises an event in which a performer or group of performers present one or more works of art to an audience. Usually the performers participate in rehearsals beforehand. Afterwards audience members often applaud. After a performance, performance measurement sometimes occurs. Performance measurement is the process of collecting, analyzing and/or reporting information regarding the performance of an individual, group, organization, system or component.
The means of expressing appreciation can vary by culture. Chinese performers will clap with the audience at the end of a performance; the return applause signals "thank you" to the audience.[1] In Japan, folk performing-arts performances commonly attract individuals who take photographs, sometimes getting up to the stage and within inches of performer's faces.[2]
Sometimes the dividing line between performer and the audience may become blurred, as in the example of "participatory theatre" where audience members get involved in the production.
Theatrical performances can take place daily or at some other regular interval. Performances can take place at designated performance spaces (such as a theatre or concert hall), or in a non-conventional space, such as a subway station, on the street, or in somebody's home.
Examples of performance genres include:
Music performance (a concert or a recital) may take place indoors in a concert hall or outdoors in a field, and may require the audience to remain very quiet, or encourage them to sing and dance along with the music.
A performance may also describe the way in which an actor performs. In a solo capacity, it may also refer to a mime artist, comedian, conjurer, or other entertainer.
Live performance events including theater, music, dance, opera, use sound production equipment and services like: staging, scenery, mechanicals, sound, lighting, video, special effects, transport, packaging, communications, costume and makeup to convince live audience members that there is no better place that they could be right now. This Live Event Support article provides information about many of the possible performance production support tools and services and how they relate to each other. Live performance events have a long history of using visual scenery, lighting, costume amplification and a shorter history of visual projection and sound amplification reinforcement. This article describes the technologies that have been used to amplify and reinforce Live events. The sections of this article together explain how the tools needed to stage, amplify and reinforce live events are interconnected.

'WHAT? Did you really say what I think I heard?' is the remarkable new book by Sharon Drew Morgen.
For a limited period this amazing guide to improving communications (and thereby human understanding and relationships) is COMPLETELY FREE from DidIHearYou.com
Morgen's previous best-selling books have focused on business communications. This new book extends her brilliant guidance to ALL TYPES OF COMMUNICATIONS - for business folk, professional communicators, teachers, parents, and young people - everyone.
If you want to communicate better, or teach others how to, then this book will help you, perhaps even in a life-changing way.
(That was a personal recommendation - not a paid advert...)
Motivation is a complex and flexible matter. J Stacey Adams' Equity Theory - and the related diagram representation of Adams' Equity Theory - offer wonderfully clear ways to understand and teach others about the factors involved, and their potential to shift.
Creativity is not just for designers and artists - it's for everyone, and is hugely important for problem-solving and decision-making, leadership, presentations, working cooperatively with others, and many other work roles.
See the "This Pebble is..." creativity exercise on the new team/group exercises page 3.
Questioning is a powerful alternative to making statements.

As we begin to unify around the world to co-create this new era, it becomes essential to highlight what is truly new, innovative and exciting.
Barbara is brilliant at seeing the deeper trends in what is emerging and identifying how we can cross the gap from breakdown to breakthrough.
Shes also uniquely gifted at sharing how social innovations on a wide scale can lead to massive new collaborations that can help avert the many crises we face and liberate more of humanitys emergent potential.
During the broadcast, Barbara will address the leading edge of human evolution, showing where we are now and more importantly her vision for where we are going.
