A Rejoinder to Makinde: Let the Real Work Start – P.M. News

Gov. Seyi Makinde of Oyo State

By Lati Abayomi

I read this epistle full of lies and half-truths by Lolu Aderogba, hoping he would tell us the real governance issues not being addressed by Governor Seyi Makinde. Alas, I was disappointed! Therefore, I am forced to address the alternative facts presented by Aderogba with facts in the public domain available to all. Then, I will point out what the governor has done in the last six months that has somehow escaped Aderogbas notice.

Lets start with the Ibadan Circular Road project. At no point did Governor Seyi Makinde revoke the contract for the Ibadan Circular Road. Had Aderogba expended the level of energy he invested in calling out Makinde, to read his Twitter timeline, he would have known that the governor only suspended the project pending a meeting with the contractors.

A tweet posted on October 31, 2019, reads We visited Ibadan Circular Road, Lagos-Ibadan Bye Pass, this afternoon for an on-the-spot assessment of the work done so far. The agreement for this project was signed in 2017 and the work done so far is about 5.5%. The concession value is N67B for 32 Kilometres of road. Ive asked that the work be stopped for us to take a holistic look at the project, which isnt proceeding as it should, for a road thats so important to Oyo States economy. Well meet with the contractors to discuss specifics like funding/work plan & decide the projects future.

Following that meeting (The Nation Ibadan Circular Road; Makinde Rescinds Stop-Work Order November 3, 2019) the governor rescinded the order after ENL Consortium Ltd (the contractors) assured him that they now had the required funds to execute the project. They admitted that inability to raise funds prevented them from executing beyond 5.5% in nearly three years. The contractors were told to deliver the project by May 2020, as stated in the agreement signed with the previous administration in 2017, and they agreed to do so.

So, Aderogbas claim that ENL Consortium Ltd threatened to take legal action against the governor and Oyo State Government for revoking the Ibadan Circular Road contract is false and a figment of his imagination.

Did Governor Seyi Makinde refer to the contractor who was awarded Moniya-Iseyin road as faceless? Yes, he did. But in the English language, faceless does not mean unidentifiable. It would be preposterous to think so. The contract documents were in the governments possession, so it is evident that the contractor awarded the contract was known to the government. A quick dictionary check on usage would reveal that the expression was to convey that the contractor was an unknown quantity without a track record, given the magnitude and importance of the work awarded to it.

Now, let us address Globus Nigeria Limited and the forest reserves. Oyo State has the following Forest Reserves; 1) Gambari Forest Reserves 11,431 Hectares 2) Osho Forest Reserves 3,704 Hectares 3) Ijaiye Forest Reserves 28,491 Hectares 4) Olokemeji Forest Reserves 7,511 Hectares 5) Lanlate Forest Reserves 7,507 Hectares 6) Igangan Forest Reserves 39,627 Hectares 7) Olaseinde Forest Reserves 686 Hectares 8) Ooko/Iroo Forest Reserves 2,300 Hectares 9) Opara Forest Reserves 248,640 Hectares.

What exactly was reversed? The Commissioner for the Environment and Natural Resources, Hon Kehinde Ayoola, explained this via a Facebook post on September 9, 2019. Senator Abiola Ajimobis government, hiding behind a nebulous Agriculture policy, allotted a total of 260,000 Hectares to himself (26,000 hectares -6,000 from Gambari and 20,000 from Opara), party members, friends and cronies; this is what was revoked by Governor Seyi Makindes administration.

Ajimobis administration permitted some investors to establish fishing and poultry business in about 2,000 hectares at Gambari Forest Reserve only. The company, Globus Nigeria Ltd, was the only company referenced in Aderogbas article. Also in the same Gambari Reserve, Kopek Nigeria Ltd was given about 300 hectares for quarry services.

Globus Nigeria Ltd which rears fish and poultry inside Gambari Reserve has as part of the conditions to use that place, the planting of 1,000 hectares of trees yearly, as an environmental impact mitigation measure. This is in addition to paying N10M ground rent annually. Ajimobis allottees have no such stipulations in their agreements with the state government. It is important to note that despite lauding Ajimobis policy of allocating 260,000 Hectares of forest reserves, Aderogba could only reference Globus Nigeria Ltd with only 2,000 Hectares as the one company which was utilising the land for agricultural purposes.

According to Hon Ayoolas Facebook post referenced above, What makes these acquisitions reprehensible, and environmentalists and conservationists will agree, is that Forests are very vital in the fight against Global Warming and its attendant problem of Climate Change. Nations of the world are looking to not only preserve their forest resources but they are adding to it. But our man was trying to take away from our forest. Of cos, with the concurrence of His Excellency GSM, I have revoked the illegal allocations. We shall collaborate with the Ministry of Justice to take further necessary action. The information is available in the public space.

Ironically, Aderogba claimed Governor Makinde cancelled the Schools Governing Board (SGB) when in fact, this is one of the policies of Ajimobi which Makinde commended, as various newspapers reported on August 1, 2019. The Makinde led government had upon assuming office, reviewed the mode of operation of SGBs to prevent the extortion of students in public schools. The claim that the government cancelled SGBs and reversed itself following an outcry is false.

On Oyo States debt, according to data available on the Nigerian Bureau of Statistics (NBS) website, Oyo States debt in December 2018 was $104,997,383.47 external debt (~N32B at the official exchange rate of N306/$1) and N91,515,756,366.15 domestic debt. That is in total, N123B. This does not take into account debt incurred between January and May 2019 before the Governor Seyi Makinde administration was sworn in. Aderogba lied when he claimed that Oyo State debt was below N100B and his claim that Oyo State isnt one of the top 10 most indebted states in Nigeria is only half true. Oyo State ranked 9 in the top 10 states with the highest external debt profile in 2018. Considering the fact that Oyo State is ranked 27th out of 36 states in the 2019 Budgit States Sustainability Index (up from 30th in 2018), its debt profile should not be treated with such levity.

It is extremely mischievous for Aderogba to suggest that Oyo State debt of N123B (as at December 2018) is mostly made up of the potential World Bank loan of N72B ($200M). This is an outright lie. To be clear, while the World Bank loan for flood management is potentially $200M (N72B at the exchange rate of N306-$1), the money is not paid out at once and anyone familiar with the way World Bank loans operate will know that this is the case. The Ajimobi led government accessed 25% of the amount $45M (N13.7B at exchange rate of N360-$1) which has already been added to Oyo States external debt profile of $104M.

So N72B ($200M) is what the Oyo State government will be able to access in total from the World Bank, but the money is not paid out at once, it is given in tranches. It is only added to Oyo States debt profile after it has been accessed. For the record, only $45M has been paid out till date by the World Bank, and this was paid out to the previous administration led by Ajimobi. Had the entire $200M been paid out by the World Bank, Oyo States external debt profile would have been a whopping $259M as at December 2018, not $104M. At the risk of being pedantic, I urge Lolu Aderogba to confirm facts before putting pen to paper.

On the N7.6B Commercial Agricultural Credit Scheme, there is no record that the governor condemned the loan. Governor Makindes position was evident even before he was sworn in as governor. As Governor-elect, he instituted a suit in April 2019 to restrain the Ajimobi-led administration from accessing and spending the money a month to the end of its tenure. He was only against the loan being spent on agricultural equipment one month to the end of Ajimobis tenure as he believed that it would be embezzled. The governor shared the court documents via his social media accounts on October 10, 2019.

Upon assuming office, the governor then approached the Oyo State House of Assembly to approve a change of purpose for the loan so that the loan (which was already being repaid as a first line charge by the government) could be put to use. This new purpose farm estates in Eruwa and Akufo was approved by the Oyo State House of Assembly. All these facts are readily available in the public space for anyone interested in the truth and not looking to mislead with lies, half-truths and propaganda.

Since he was sworn in on May 29, 2019, Governor Seyi Makinde has gotten down to the business of governance, crafting and implementing people-centred policies. He has consistently stated that his administration is resting on four pillars Education, Healthcare, Security and the Economy.

In education, Makindes administration has scrapped all fees and levies leading to an influx of students into public schools, provided exercise books for both primary schools and secondary school students, provided textbooks for secondary school students, started renovating all public schools in the state in tranches of 100 at a time, increased the budget for education from 3% to 10% of total budget allocated, paid N500,000 bursary to the backlog set of Oyo State students of the Nigerian Law School, approved the hiring of teachers to meet current shortfalls and approved the retraining of teachers. Oyo State had 400,000 out of school children in the latest data released before Makinde assumed office. This is a ticking time bomb and the government must focus on improving access to and quality of education in the state.

In healthcare, the government has embarked on renovating and equipping of hospitals (Adeoyo and Jericho Specialist) and Primary Healthcare Centres across the state.

For security, the government has embarked on the nearly completed Light Up Ibadan project, provided an emergency contact number, 615 and recently distributed 100 security patrol vehicles to enable security agencies to react speedily to reports of criminal activities. The proscription of NURTW for security reasons still subsists.

On the economy, since June 2019, the government ensures the salary payment of civil servants on or before the 25th of the month, providing liquidity for the local economy. The government has also by improving revenue collection and plugging leakages, increased internally generated revenue by N400M without raising taxes. The re-awarded Moniya-Iseyin road when completed will aid economic activities in the state. In September 2019, the government entered into a partnership with agritech company, Farmcrowdy, to work with 50,000 farmers in Oyo State over the course of 3 years.

The government has transmitted Executive Bills on investment and financial crimes to the Oyo State House of Assembly which is still deliberating on these bills. Governor Makinde set up a Due Process Office in June 2019 to ensure that due process is followed for the award of government contracts.

These are some of the things the six-month-old government has done. There is still a lot to be done but with each passing day, Governor Makinde demonstrates that the people of Oyo State made the right choice in electing him to office with a wide margin of victory over his opponent. Lolu Aderogba should take his own advice and ensure he only communicates the truth about governance in Oyo State in his opinion pieces going forward.

Just exhale with the sound, Oooooo! – Economic Times

Posted: November 19, 2019 at 11:51 am

By Osho

When you go to sleep tonight and every night following tonight, before going to sleep put off the light, sit on your bed, close your eyes and exhale deeply through the mouth with the sound O Ooooo. Go on exhaling with the sound O, as deeply as possible. Your stomach goes in, the air moves out, and you go on creating the sound O.

Remember, I am not saying Aum, I am saying simply O. It will become Aum automatically. You need not make it; then it is false. You simply create the sound O. When it becomes more harmonious and you are enjoying it, suddenly you will become aware it has become Aum. But dont force it to become Aum, then it is false. When it becomes spontaneously Aum, then, it is something vibrating from within. And this sound Aum is the deepest sound, the most harmonious, the most basic.

When it happens and you enjoy and you flow in its music, your whole body and your brain relax. With the sound Aum, you will go on relaxing and your sleep will have a different quality, altogether. When you have exhaled completely and you feel that now no more exhalation is possible, the whole breath has gone out, stop for a single moment. Dont inhale, dont exhale just stop. In that stop you are in the ocean.

Just remain so for a single moment and just look at what is happening. Be aware where you are: witness the whole situation that is there in that single stopped moment. Time is no more there, because time moves with breaths; breathing is the process of time. Because you breathe you feel time moving. When you dont breathe, you are just like a dead man. Time has stopped, there is no process anywhere; everything has stoppedas if the whole existence has stopped with you. In that stopping, you can become aware of the deepest source of your being and energy. So for a single moment, stop. Then inhale through the nose, but dont make any effort to inhale.

Remember, make all the effort to exhale, but dont make any effort to inhale; just let the body inhale. You simply relax your hold and let the body take the inhalation. You dont do anything. That too is beautiful and works wonders. You will feel a deep silence surrounding you, because then you know your effort is not needed for life. Life breathes itself. It moves by itself of its own cause. It is a river; you unnecessarily go on pushing it. You will see that the body is taking the inhalation. Your effort is not needed, your ego is not needed you are not needed. When the body has taken a full inhalation, stop for a single moment again. Again watch.

These two moments are totally different. When you have exhaled completely and stopped, that stopping is just like death. When you have inhaled totally and then stopped, that stopping is the climax of life. Remember, inhalation is equivalent to life, exhalation equivalent to death. Thats why the first thing a child does when born is to inhale, and the last thing the same child will do when old, dying, will be to exhale. On this earth, the first thing you did while entering life was inhalation, and the last thing you will do will be exhalation. (Vedanta: Seven steps to Samadhi, Osho Times International. Steve Ewen: Unbeaten Knights warned to fear the Rams in high school football playoffs – The Province

Posted: at 11:51 am

without comments

Theyre still the Mount Douglas Rams.

Thats the message St. Thomas coach Steve De Lazzari is hammering into his unbeaten Knights (7-0) as the Eastern Conference regular-season champions from Burnaby get set to face the Western Conference fourth-place Rams (4-3) of Victoria in the Subway Bowl triple-A high school football provincial quarterfinals.

The game goes Saturday at B.C. Place Stadium.

They always seem to elevate their level of play at this time of year, De Lazzari said of the Rams, who have won five B.C. titles in the past eight seasons, including last year, when they crushed the Knights 43-21 in this same quarterfinal round.

Weve seen it from them before. Theyll be third or fourth in their conference and then theyll just start taking care of opponent after opponent in the playoffs.

You cant just look at this season when you talk about them. Were looking at their history. Theyre obviously doing something right over there.

The Rams were second in the Western Conference regular season last year. After dispatching STM, they would beat the Vancouver College Fighting Irish 31-28 in the semifinals and then bounce the New Westminster Hyacks 48-24 in the championship game with a team that featured 12 seniors and star quarterback Gideone Kremler.

Hunter Swift, whos in Grade 10, has taken over the passing chores this season. Mt. Douglas dropped a 33-21 decision to New Westminster and a 35-14 game to Vancouver College to begin the regular season, but theyve won five of six games since, including a 42-12 decision over North Deltas Seaquam Seahawks in last weeks opening round of playoffs.

STM had a bye last week thanks to their first-place finish.

Peter Primeau rushed for 117 yards on 17 carries and scored three touchdowns for Mt. Douglas against Seaquam.

In the regular season, Swift passed for 826 yards and completed 50 per cent (53 of 106) of his attempts. He threw eight touchdown passes and five interceptions.

Hunter has steadily improved each week, and is an awesome young man, Mt. Douglas coach Mark Townsend explained via text.

We really did not know what to expect this season but the kids are competing hard and improving, he added. Although facing this very talented STM team is an extremely difficult task, and beating them would be a big upset, our kids are excited to have the opportunity.

Townsend was quick to praise an STM defence led by defensive end Kaishaun Carter and a rushing game featuring running back Nick Osho, who has run for 1,525 yards and 12 touchdowns this season.

St. Thomass ground game was supposed to also feature Marc Abboud this year, but he suffered a broken leg in an Aug. 30 preseason game in Hawaii. De Lazzari hinted earlier that Abboud might be back for the playoffs but says chances are hes not going to play on Saturday.

Examining a jealousy that’s a long way from the green-eyed monster – The Japan Times

Posted: November 2, 2019 at 5:50 pm

without comments

Comparison is a very foolish attitude, said Indian mystic Chandra Mohan Jain, popularly known as Osho (1931-90), because each person is unique and incomparable. Once this understanding settles in you, jealousy disappears.

It may be true, but the fact seems to be that this understanding settles in very few of us, and jealousy, as a shaper of character and social relations, is here to stay, barring a mass movement toward mysticism nowhere on the horizon at present.

Everyone knows the biblical stories of the jealous God and the first murder by Cain, jealous of the favor God showed his brother, Abel. One of the biblical Ten Commandments forbids covetousness, which in Buddhism is one of the three evils, together with anger and delusion.

But can we help ourselves? The business magazine President this month surveys 1,000 respondents, men and women, aged from their 20s to their 60s, and computes an average jealousy ratio of 42 percent, pretty much constant across the age and gender spectrum. What exactly this ratio means is not clear that nearly half of us are jealous? That were all jealous nearly half the time? Or is it a measure of the intensity of our jealousy when its aroused? Interpretation is at the readers discretion. The point is, its out there. Is it in you? You know best.

Its in the animals. Its in birds, President hears from psychological counselor Shinrai Oshima. Young birds fling helpless infant siblings out of the nest to their death. They will not share parental attention; they will have it all and no moral delicacy hold them back, as it would most of us. Presumably the parents are forgiving. Evolution would have stamped the practice out otherwise.

Love filial, parental, erotic is a demanding passion. Blighting its finer qualities is its possessiveness. Were not as different from baby birds as we like to think. Love shared is love threatened. Its our instinctive fear of solitude, Oshima says, that makes us feel that way. Today the pursuit of success has largely replaced the pursuit of love, and jealousy has evolved accordingly. How can I be content with my success if you my friend, my colleague, my child, someone I read about in the newspaper are more successful than I am?

Success has many symbols: an expensive foreign car, a luxurious house, money in the bank, friends in high places, a crowded social calendar, good looks and so on. All, according to President, arouse jealousy varying degrees of it in various people, but the upshot is that all these things symbolize superiority, and we all want to be, or seem, superior, whatever lip service we pay to equality. Stanford University research confirms it and even quantifies it: Men on average feel 22 percent superior to the average person.

Maybe thats good for us. Oshima says jealousy flows from the hippocampus, a region of the brain associated with learning. It energizes us, goads us onward against lethargy and discouragement. Maybe the more jealous we are the more talented, or vice versa. Certainly talent attracts jealousy parental jealousy of bright children; bosses jealousy of subordinates who outshine them. Its not a rule, but almost anyones life will provide anecdotal evidence.

Jealousy is shared by men and women, old and young (children are outside Presidents purview) but there are differences. Male jealousy, testosterone-driven, tends to be aroused by income, productivity, luxury and other symbols of successful competition. Women focus more on relationships: Shes more popular than I am, gets invited to more parties, gets on better with the boss; why was she invited to that office drinking party (which I didnt want to go to anyway) and not me? Women no longer depend on men as they once did, but age-old impulses die hard, and this one, says Oshima, is rooted in the primordial female search for a mate.

Expensive foreign cars who cares about them? Older men, mostly. Their jealousy can still be aroused at the sight of this preeminent status symbol of their youth. Todays youth, less car-driven, have other concerns: likes on social media; clothes that are photogenic on social media. Not that older people are indifferent to clothes. Its the generation in between that is, relatively. Fashion is back, after a 20-year span in which it counted for little.

Theres jealousy and jealousy. President, without defining the term, deals with its most benign form envy. Shedding it would no doubt make us better people leading more wholesome lives. Still, Presidents jealousy is a long way from Shakespeares green-eyed monster which doth mock the meat it feeds on. Shakespeares Othello was a man in love; Presidents survey respondents are comparatively unimpassioned men and women making their way in the workaday world, forever wanting a little more than they have as who, Osho notwithstanding, does not, in an economy stressing upward mobility?

We can only rise so high. Theres always someone richer, more powerful, better connected, better loved. Each person is unique and incomparable, said Osho; poverty, therefore, is as much an asset as wealth, once the understanding settles. Brutus magazine this month offers a suggestion conducive to that understanding: tea ceremony. Its an ancient Japanese pastime, excruciatingly formal to despisers of formality, soothingly ritualistic to the more favorably inclined. It can settle the understanding, says tea master Yuriko Ishida. Concentrating your consciousness on tea, you leave worldly thoughts behind; a moment encompasses eternity. I like that feeling, she adds, disarmingly.

Jealousy is the worldliest of thoughts feelings, rather. It has no place in the tea room. A century ago, writer and art critic Kakuzo Okakura (1863-1913), in The Book of Tea, invited the samurai to leave his sword on the rack beneath the eaves, the tea room being preeminently the house of peace. Then he will bend low and creep into the room through a small door not more than 3 feet in height. This proceeding was incumbent on all guests, high and low alike, and was intended to inculcate humility in whose light jealousy withers, if it ever does.

Big in Japan is a weekly column that focuses on issues being discussed by domestic media organizations. Michael Hoffmans latest book is an essay collection titled Fuji, Sinai, Olympos.

Ipswich Town taking a look at Reading defender – The 72 – We Love the Football League

Posted: at 5:50 pm

The 21-year-old played for the Tractor Boys Under-23s side last night against Coventry City, as per a report by TWTD.

Osho is out-of-contract at the Madejski Stadium next summer so may be weighing up his options for his next move.

He joined the Royals as a youngster and rose up through their youth ranks. The centre-back signed his first professional contract in July 2016.

Osho made his senior debut in a Championship fixture against Middlesbrough in September 2018, a game in which he was awarded the Man of the Match award. He has since made three more appearances for Reading.

He was loaned out to non-league side Maidenhead United for a brief spell in the 2017/18 before joining National League outfit Aldershot Town the season after, where he played 11 times in all competitions.

Osho then spent the second-half of last term on loan in League One at Bristol Rovers.

His long-term future at Reading depends on whether he part of their new manager Mark Bowens plans. He hasnt played for them so far this season, hence why he has been allowed to join Ipswich on a temporary basis.

Osho has gained some senior experience from his loan spells away from Reading and could be a useful signing for Ipswich if they choose to snap him up. He would add more options and depth to Paul Lamberts promotion chasing side.

Alia Bhatt may have rejected Aamir Khans Osho movie because she was committed to Salman Khans Inshallah,… – Hindustan Times

Posted: October 27, 2019 at 8:45 pm

without comments

Actor Alia Bhatt came out the biggest loser when Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan decided to shelve their film, Inshallah. According to a report in The Times of India, Alia had turned down the opportunity to star in a film with Aamir Khan, because she had already committed to being a part of Sanjays film, said to be an epic romantic drama.

A source told the daily that Alia is upset about the situation. Alia was approached for a film with Aamir Khan. However, she had to decline the offer as she had reserved all the dates for Inshallah, the source said.

Alia was looking forward to collaborating with Salman and SLB. The actress is very upset as she gave up on various other projects too during the period, the source added.

The Aamir Khan film that was offered to her could have been the long-rumoured Osho movie that was being discussed last year. Aamir was reported to be playing spiritual guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh (Osho) in the film while Alia was expected to play his disciple and convicted attempted murderer, Ma Anand Sheela.

At last years Actress Roundtable with journalist Rajeev Masand, Alia even said she would like to play Maa Anand Sheela in a movie. I find that story super fascinating, she said. When Masand pointed out that word around town is that shes already playing the part, she feigned confusion at the question. No but I would kill to (play her), she had added.

Salman announced on Monday that Inshallah has been pushed and will not release on Eid 2020, as previously announced. The film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali is pushed but I will still see you all on Eid, 2020. Insha-Allah, he wrote on Twitter. He later wrote in another tweet that hinted his film Kick 2 would release on Eid 2020 instead.

According to a source close to Bhansali, the filmmaker didnt appreciate the constant interference in his process. It has been reported that Salman had asked for certain changes to be made to the script. The source said, Sanjay Leela Bhansali respects and loves his actors and suggestions are welcome but not if they aim to alter the narrative. Hence, he has taken the decision to shelve the film. However, they are still friends and Sanjay Leela Bhansali has immense love and respect for him.

Salman later told Mumbai Mirror in an interview, Sanjay was a friend even before we started working on Khamoshi. He had come to meet me through Manisha Koirala. After that, we collaborated on Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. When he came to me with this film, I liked it and we decided to work together again. One thing I can say is that Sanjay wont do gaddaari with his film. I want him to make the film he wants to make. Nothing changes between us as friends and Im sure nothing has changed in Sanjays heart for me. Im extremely close to his mother (Leela) and sister (Bela). I wish him all the best. He and I will still work in future on a film, Inshallah.

It was Osho, Osho and more Osho last Saturday.

The Seaquam Seahawks were unable to contain St. Thomas Mores Nick Osho, as the Grade 11 ball carrier counted five touchdowns to lead a solid 31-22 victory in North Delta.

The wet weather added a layer of difficulty for ball handlers on both teams. But Osho was able to hold on en route to a big game.

We got off to a great start, even though it didnt work exactly how we planned it, remarked STM coach Steve De Lazzari. We were successful with an onside kick on the opening kickoff, but we were intercepted in the end zone.

On Seaquams first offensive play moments later, Osho stripped the ball free to give the Knights great field position. Hed carry it in from 14 yards out for the games first major.

The Burnaby squads second major came after another turnover off their second kick, setting up Oshos two-yard score.

After the Seahawks scored in the second quarter, Osho countered with a 12-yard dash to end the half.

Then on the first play of the second half, he broke free for an 80-yard major to make it 25-7. That comfort zone was shortlived, however, as the Seahawks attacked and got within a field goal of tying the game.

But Osho wasnt finished. He stripped Seaquams quarterback, and teammate Sean Oreta corralled the loose ball. A few plays later, Osho iced it with a four-yard run for a TD.

Having coached his older brother, David, I knew (Nick) had this kind of potential. He was following in some talented footsteps, and hes really developed his ground game this season, noted De Lazzari.

Osho finished with 260 yards on 29 carries, in addition to two forced fumbles from his outside linebacker position. Quarterback Anthony De Lazzari, meanwhile, completed five of eight pass attempts for 65 yards.

Kaishaun Carter would tally nine tackles, while Bryson Vanloo and Osho counted five tackles apiece.

The Knights remain ranked fifth overall in the B.C. AAA football poll.

They now venture to Coquitlam to play the winless Centennial Centaurs on Friday (7:30 p.m. at Percy Perry Stadium).

Amidst all the rumours regarding her next film, Deepika Padukone recently revealed at the opening session of Jio MAMI Movie Mela that she has finally found a romantic film that she was lately waiting to do. I have found a film that I am likely to do early next year but its not light. Its still a messy romance, its quite dark but still in the romantic space, the actress said without divulging more details.

Now, Bollywood Bubble has exclusively learnt that Deepika is collaborating with Karan Johar for the dark but set in the romantic space film she talked about last week. Dharma Productions in-house director Shakun Batra who has directed films such as, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu of 2012 and the unpredictable family drama Kapoor & Sons of 2016 for the banner will be directing this yet-untitled movie featuring DP. Although the details of the project including the plot are yet unknown, we heard that the film will go on floors after Deepikas Meghna Gulzar directed Chhapaak releases in January 2020.

Deepika has been rumoured to be a part of many films as of late. The strongest rumour of them being Luv Ranjans romantic drama with Ranbir Kapoor. However, it seems she has instead picked Shakun Batras film that marks her second collaboration with Karan Johars production company after the huge success of Ayan Mukherjis film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani .

Deepika is said to have greenlighted this film and the official announcement will be made as soon as the paperwork is done.

Deepikas this film comes as a respite for Shakun Batra after his ambitious film based on the life of the controversial Godman Rajneesh aka Osho was shelved earlier this year. The biographical drama was supposed to star Aamir Khan and Alia Bhatt in the leads, but the project, our sources say, has been indefinitely put on hold until everything doesnt fall in place as a film of this scale requires time and effort, the right kind of infrastructure and people to execute it as envisioned.

Oshos controversial aide Ma Anand Sheela recounts how the guru loved her, explained Umrao Jaans poetry… – Hindustan Times

Ma Anand Sheela, former close aide of Rajneesh, on Sunday opened up about the way of life at Rajneeshpuram, a utopian city for the controversial gurus followers in rural Oregon in the US, and how she still follows the communal lifestyle. Sheela, who is on her first India visit in 34 years, spoke with filmmaker Karan Johar at The Conversation, organised by Humans For Humanity in association with Sipping Thoughts.

Sheela worked as the personal secretary of Rajneesh, popularly known as Osho, from 1981 through 1985 and managed Rajneeshpuram. Sheela, who recently came to limelight as the central figure in Netflixs 2018 docu-series Wild, Wild Country, said contrary to popular perception, sexuality was never misused in both of Bhagwans communes Pune and Rajneeshpuram. There was no misuse of sexuality in our commune in Pune or in Rajneeshpuram. We talked about sexuality openly. Its like when you are attracted to somebody, you express your attraction, she said.

One message which I want to give to everyone present here is to be yourself; I am me and will always remain like this. I have learnt to live communal lifestyle from Bhagwan Rajneesh, she added.

Sheela, 69, is known for wearing her heart on her sleeves and when asked whether she had unrequited love for Rajneesh, she said the guru was also very much in love with me.

... You should see some of the photographs and see how he looked at me. And the way he said Seela... Sharing an anecdote, Sheela recalled an evening she spent with Rajneesh as he watched the classic Umrao Jaan, featuring Rekha and Farooq Shaikh.

There was a poetry on love in it. We finished our work and then Bhagwan said, Seela, come sit here. I sat with him and he explained every word of that poetry to me. It was divine, she said.

When Karan pressed to know the nature of their relationship, Sheela counter-questioned the filmmaker if he was curious about the physical aspect of their equation.

There was no sex with Osho. Our relationship was not sexual. The integrity mattered because I was already drowning in him... she said.

Rajneesh was famous for advocating a more open attitude to human sexuality and when the director asked if she personally believes in his theories of free sex, Sheela had an interesting answer.

Not just me, but I think everybody believes in it secretly. They want freedom from their relationships and enjoy themselves. In 1986, after a fallout with the guru, Sheela pleaded guilty to attempted murder and assault for her role in the 1984 Rajneeshee bio-terror attack. She was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison and paroled after 39 months and moved to Switzerland.

Sheela then married Swiss citizen Urs Birnstiel, a fellow Rajneesh follower. She settled in Maisprach, Switzerland, where she bought and managed two nursing homes.

Sheela, who addressed Rajneesh as my lover, said she had no regrets in life.

Im living whatever Ive learnt from Bhagwans communal lifestyle where you compliment one another and I cared for Bhagwan in his commune, I care now for my own disabled people.

I created these homes because I was missing my parents and if people want to see it as redemption then I must need redemption, take it and move on. In 1984, Sheela initiated attempts to murder Rajneeshs caretaker and girlfriend, Ma Yoga Vivek, and his personal physician, Swami Devaraj (real name George Meredith), because she believed they were a threat to him.

When Karan asked what she would say to Rajneesh if given a chance to meet him one last time, she said, I would tell Bhagwan, You went with the wrong people who drugged you. And you shouldnt have allowed it and you were too smart for that... But it was his choice. Sheela is in the country till October 25.
