Mental health is just as important as physical health. The biggest problem is that the signs of mental health, including depression and stress, are not visible to the naked eye, and that is where self-analysis, self-awakening, and building a conversation play a crucial role. As a part of self-analysis and self-awareness, our old scriptures can always be relied upon for the right guidance. In an exclusive conversation with us, Gauranga Das Prabhu, the acclaimed spiritual leader, talks about this and how teachings from the Bhagavad Gita can come to the rescue. He says that feeling anxious or stressed is common for everyone. As per reports, millions of people feel stressed, and hundreds of them commit suicide every day. Prabhu explains that one big reason for this is feeling scared of losing who we are. When things change, like our job or role, it can make us feel really anxious. Prabhu tells a story where people suffered heart attacks because they didn't get the promotion they expected. Even though they still had their job and got paid, they felt like they had lost their identity. This is a big idea in the Bhagavad Gitathe fear of losing who we are. Watch his full interview here: The Bhagavad Gita talks about three levels of understanding ourselves. The first is knowing what we're supposed to do (swadharma). The second is knowing our natural tendencies (swabhav). But Prabhu says there's a deeper levelthe soul (swarupa). This part of us, the soul, is always the same, no matter what changes happen in our lives. He calls this the Sanatana Dharmathe everlasting connection between our soul and the divine. When we understand this connection, we can find peace and happiness, even when things around us change. Prabhu's teachings show that mental health is about more than just feeling okay. It's about understanding ourselves deeply and finding peace inside, even when life gets hard.
