This week brings Suicide Prevention Week events, a law talk withProfessor Heidi Brown, career fair and rsum workshops, an Education Abroad virtual expo, a paint by the numbersDIY Nightand more.

There are a variety of events this week to learn about suicide prevention and how to help a fellow Buff:

Tuesday, Sept. 8

5:30 p.m. Zoom Pre-law Buffs:Join us for a talk with Professor Heidi Brown, tenured law faculty and prolific author at Brooklyn Law School, to gain valuable insight from her experiences. Even if you are not a law student but are interested in law, this is a great event to attend.

4 p.m.Handshake Join Career Services to learn best practices on how to create a killer rsum.

Wednesday, Sept. 9

Sept. 910, 11 a.m. to 4p.m. Zoom The world still awaits! Learn about the adventure of a lifetime at the virtual Education Abroad Expo. You'll discover study abroad opportunities, global internships andresearch, and much more on hundreds of programs in almost 70 different countriesfor all majors and all budgets!Register today.

4:305:30 p.m. Zoom Get ready for upcoming virtual career fairs! Discuss rsumand interviewing tips, how to prep for a virtual fair and virtual interviews and more.

5 p.m. Zoom Join this virtual dialogue to learn and practice skillfully engaging in productive conversation on important topics with people in your life. Register here.

6 p.m.Zoom All you crafty Buffs out there:Join the Center for Student Involvement for DIY Night! Pick up the materials for a craft, then tune in to watch the virtual craft night together.Each participant will need to RSVP in advance and coordinate a time to pick up their craft kit from CSI (UMC 330). Limited to the first 1520 students to register, so register now!

Thursday, Sept. 10

5 p.m. Virtual event Netflix, chat and chill! Join us as we come together to watch movies/shows while participating in an online chat.

6p.m. Zoom Interested in learning to meditate? Looking to unwind at the end of a busy day? Already have a practice and hoping to find others who share your passion for zazen? Each week, senior instructor in the Program for Writing and Rhetoric and12-year zazen practitioner Sigman Myoshin Byrd leads a meditation, sitting for 25 minutes, followed byabrief discussion.If you are new to sitting meditation, log on at 5:45 p.m.

Friday, Sept. 11

Noon to 1 p.m. Zoom Learn how to really make college work from the people who know.

6:307:15 p.m.or 7:308:15 p.m. Rec Centertennis courts Enjoy physically distanced sunset yoga on the rooftop tennis courts of the Rec Center! Participants are encouraged to bring their own mats. Space is limited, so register today.
