It's the new Moseley chippy with a decidedly blue chip clientele.

Flakes, which has introduced vegan and vegetarian fast-food options, may have been opened for only a month but it already boasts a batter class of customer.

Midlands Today presenter Jo Malin has already chipped-in with a show of support.

Presenter and reality TV star Alison Hammond, who has appeared in Big Brother, Im A Celebrity and Strictly Come Dancing, has also stood on the other side of the chrome counter.

The shop has been launched by Chris Christoforou, owner of Wythalls Hollywood Fish.

He said: I know Jo and Alison from the Wythall shop. Its great that theyve supported the new venture.

I think Flakes is the nicest chippie in Birmingham, but I suppose Im biased.

Chris stressed his new venture is a little out-of-the-ordinary, with a range of vegan and vegetarian dishes.
