Hundreds of musical fans flocked to Stockton Globe Theatre as We Will Rock You opened its run of eight shows on Teesside.

Queen and Ben Elton's smash hit musical began on Monday June 6 and will go until Saturday June 11. On Tuesday evening, fans at the theatre were treated to a cameo from a special guest in Smooth North East presenter Steve Colman.

Colman swapped relaxing music broadcasts this week as he rocked a long black wig and leather jacket, as he portrayed the legendary Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne. The musical is packed with fan favourites from Queen, with anthems like Radio Ga Ga, Bohemian Rhapsody and of course the show's namesake; We Will Rock You.

Tuesday nights performance welcomed visitors from across the region including press and VIP guests who were all excited to see a familiar voice in Steve Colman, transformed from Smooth Radio favourite to rock star.

Steve took on the part of Ozzy Osbourne from the non-conforming Bohemians, a group who are fighting against the all-powerful Killer Queen. The Bohemians have constantly changing names and name themselves after media trends and personalities theyve found on old posters in the globalized future setting.
