BOSTON, Feb. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- PerkStreet Financial, the financial services company that's single-handedly returning trust to banking by aligning itself with the best interests of its customers, is pleased to announce the launch of StreetSense.

StreetSense is designed to help customers and non-customers alike learn personal finance best practices via free, email-based courses. StreetSense has been developed to be a fun and engaging way to fit financial improvement into customers' increasingly busy schedules. During a month-long beta-launch of StreetSense, thousands of people graduated the first courses with a resoundingly positive response.

"Just another reason why I love PerkStreet," wrote one PerkStreet Blog reader in reaction to the launch of StreetSense. "While other banks try to find ways to get people further into debt, you guys are finding ways to get us out of debt. What a concept! Thank you for having the vision for this."

The first courses in StreetSense cover three topics critical to personal financial success in the current recessionary financial environment: budgeting, paying down debt and accomplishing financial goals as a family.

"PerkStreet is creating new paradigm for customers' relationships with their banking partner. We don't want to be a place where our customers just park their money; we foster a more productive relationship with them, helping them win when it comes to their finances. StreetSense does just that in a format that's fun, simple and easy-to-follow," said Dan O'Malley, CEO of PerkStreet Financial. "StreetSense flies in the face of the idea that learning about personal finance has to be boring."

PerkStreet will be continuing to add new courses to PerkStreet.com/StreetSense frequently, and new email sessions begin daily, so customers can sign up at any time, all for free.
