Three storms could be heading Thailands way and nine provinces in the Northeastern region could face the direct impact, the Thai Meteorological Department has warned.
Kornrawee Sitthichivapak, the departments deputy director-general, said tropical storm Linfa that is covering Laos has weakened to monsoon depression which would soon reach Thailands Northeast, affecting Mukdahan, Roi Et, Yasothon, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Sisaket, Surin, Buriram and Nakhon Ratchasima.
The monsoon trough and southwest monsoon are other factors that would increase the volume of rain in provinces in the southern region, such as Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Krabi, Phuket, Phang-nga, Satun and Trang.
Moreover, Thailand might also be confronted by a depression in the South China Sea becoming a tropical storm, while a low-pressure area near the Philippines had the potential of growing stronger.
Vietnam braces for typhoon
Meanwhile, ongoing heavy rains and flooding has killed 20 people in Vietnams central provinces, and 14 more have been reported missing, as the country braces for the seventh typhoon to hit this year.
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting on Monday afternoon said the low pressure out in the north of the South China Sea (known in Vietnam as the East Sea) had strengthened into a typhoon internationally known as Nangka.
Nangka is forecast to make landfall in the north-central part of Vietnam on Wednesday, while the accompanying rains could cover the central region already battered by torrential downpours over the last few days.
The centre forecast that central provinces would face heavy rains ranging from 150 to 300mm on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The National Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control issued an urgent letter on Monday asking the bureau to closely supervise the development of the low pressure system and issue warnings to localities and ships.
Ministries, sectors and localities were instructed to cooperate with and supervise boats and ships operating in danger areas, and keep in contact with their owners.
Authorities also instructed boats and ships to find safe harbour and to take measures to ensure the safety of local people and tourists on islands and in coastal areas.
Aquaculture farmers should be kept informed of the development of the low pressure system, the letter said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs was also asked to contact countries and territories to ask for shelter for Vietnamese fishermen.
Deluge
The ongoing downpour, exacerbated by Typhoon Linfa which hit the central region on Sunday morning before weakening to a low pressure area, destroyed a total of 382 houses and flooded 109,034 others, and damaged 108 sections of national highways and 8.6km of provincial highways.
The disaster caused big losses to agricultural production by destroying 584ha of rice, 3,879ha of vegetable, 2,141ha of aquaculture, whilst killing about 150,700 cattle and poultry.
In Danang, many communes were submerged by rising floods worsened by water discharged from hydropower reservoirs.
As of 7am on Monday morning, the communes of Hoa Phong, Hoa Nhon, Hoa Lien, Hoa Khuong, Hoa Chau and Hoa Tien were badly submerged, affecting the lives of 3,000 local households in 38 hamlets.
In the mountainous districts of Hoa Vang, Lien Chieu and Cam Le, there was high risk of flash floods and landslides.
At present, 882 households in typhoon-affected areas have been moved to safer areas.
Meanwhile, people in the central province of Thua Thien-Hue are entering their fifth day of flooding and heavy rain.
Rainfall of over 1,000mm flooded areas near the Bo River, badly affecting to districts of Phong Dien and Quang Dien, as well as Huong Tra township.
Local people have been suffering from food shortages due to disrupted transport.
Hoang Sinh, a resident of Phong Hien commune, told Vietnam News Agency that his familys food reserves were running due to the prolonged rain and flooding, and they were down to a few packs of instant noodles and rice.
Tran Duc Thien, chairman of Phong Hien commune, said the local government was trying to reach local households to supply food, drink and medicine.
The floods surged rapidly and people in low-lying areas could not keep up. Water spilled into their houses submerging them up to 1m, said Tran Van Hoan from Huong Tra township.
The whole family had to move to a neighbours house. For several days, we only had instant noodles to survive, said Hoan.
This is the worst flood since 2006. It has badly affected 70 per cent of local people, said Pham Cong Phuoc, vice-chairman of Quang Thai commune.
The provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster and Rescue reported that as of 6pm on Sunday, three people had died, while seven were injured and another was missing.
Nineteen houses had, and 53,385 houses and 360ha of crops had been flooded.
More than 100km of coastline from Huong River across Huong Tho commune and Huong Tra township was severely damaged by erosion. About 300m of the dyke in Quang Phu commune, Quang Dien district was also hit.
In Hue, more than 50 per cent of roads in 27 wards and 2,560 houses were flooded as of Monday morning.
In Quang Tri province, the flooding dramatically increased on Monday morning.
From late on Sunday night, in the upstream area of the Thach Han River, 152 to 277mm fell in Dakrong district.
The downpour made the water in the Thach Han and O Lau rivers reach alert levels.
The river water levels were forecast to continue rising today and next days.
To cope with the situation, Quang Tri authorities have asked the central government to supply materials and rescue equipment, including two amphibious vehicles, 27 boats, rescue equipment and chemicals for disinfection.
The week-long rain killed six and injured two in the province, with a further six reported missing in the province.
Sections of National Highway 9, the Ho Chi Minh Trail and main roads in the mountainous districts of Dakrong and Huong Hoa have also been badly damaged.

It will also increase your confidence.
Looking good on the outside and feeling healthy on the inside will only have positive reactions to your mind. This, in turn, will make you feel confident. It's an extremely automatic process because the connection our mind has with our heart and body is strong. To be confident, its also about looking confident and feeling confident. Sometimes, the tangible elements associated with confidence, such as a nice suit, a toned body, and a clean haircut, translate to confidence, leading to better opportunities.
Making the most out of your time
It only takes mere seconds to form a first impression. These mere seconds are still time you're giving up, so make the most out of it. Put your best foot forward and give it all you have. This is the best approach to life, business, and career opportunity. Taking pride in your appearance also means valuing your time, space, beliefs, and understanding who you are as a person. You value you. You place importance on yourself, and you put your best foot forward to show your best abilities.
Taking pride in your appearance isnt being vain. Its about looking good, feeling good, and behaving in the best way possible. Small upgrades to how you look, such as giving yourself a good shave, a clean haircut, investing in proper skincare, and purchasing clothes that fit you well, are all small efforts that take you a long way. These self-grooming points are pretty basic, which doesnt cost you much.
Sure, you can dress comfortably, but it should be in the right place. Friday is a casual day at work? Then, wear jeans and a nice shirt. Don't take it too far by walking in with tattered jeans and a worn-out shirt. That look works for a concert, but not the office. 5 principles to help you deal with adversity and come back stronger
We aspire to become and achieve many different things in our lives, and it all begins at a young age. But the reality is, life doesnt always offer us an easy path toward all our goals. There are many challenges on the way in our quest to fulfill our aspirations.
Based on our experiences and knowledge, we all react differently in different situations. But no matter how differently we react, at some point we fall. This is where resilience comes in. No matter what life throws at us, resilience is what helps us learn the lessons of experience and get back on track as quickly as possible.
In the past week, I had a great opportunity to discuss the topic of resilience during the Techsauce Global Summit. Understanding resilience and how it affects you is very important. Resilience is all about how we bounce back from every adversity we face. Throughout our lives, were going to face many different problems. But how do we recover quickly? Here are 5 principles of personal resilience we can begin with.
The first principle is gratitude. Zig Ziglar, the American author, salesman and motivational speaker once said: Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. This is true in many ways. Without getting into the neuroscience of it, gratitude correlates to the positive feelings within us. With this positive energy, resilience thrives as every challenge faced makes us grateful for the lessons we will learn.
The second principle is compassion. Compassion doesnt necessarily mean only toward others, but also toward ones own self. Sometimes, we make mistakes and fail and the biggest critic we face is ourselves. Be more compassionate to yourself and learn from those mistakes so you can bounce back quickly.
The third principle is acceptance. Sometimes, the reality of our situation is hard to accept. We have experienced being in denial after adversity has hit us. But acceptance doesnt mean being okay with the bad things happening to us; it means accepting that reality can be tough and that we must do our part to control the things we can control and accept those we cannot.
The fourth principle is meaning. It is only human of us to find meaning in our lives through positive encounters. However, through adversity, meaning and value can rise. Finding meaning in challenges can help us grow in many ways and also build our strengths to face future, similar adversities.
The final principle is forgiveness. This is the most difficult thing to do, but also very important. It is forgiveness that allows us to set aside those things holding us back. Challenges arent the only things that stop us from succeeding, and sometimes theres some things we cannot let go. Forgiveness can help us let go of the things that stop us from getting back on track.
While these principles are things we need to work on daily, here are some tips to kickstart your journey and practise so that you can strengthen your resilience to meet goals in career and life.
First, become more self-aware. We need to understand that our usual ways of doing things may not work since our world has shifted to a new situation and context. Becoming more self-aware of what works and what doesnt will be an important part of the learning curve.
Additionally, self-awareness isnt just about knowing the situation. It also helps us understand ourselves and where we stand in the current situation. This is especially relevant to the third and fourth points mentioned above, where we begin to develop ourselves in ways to strengthen our resilience.
Second, strengthen your foundation, beginning with mindset. There are a lot of great mindsets we can develop to support our resilience.
Finally, set actionable goals, whether its with work or life. While resilience first and foremost is about getting back up from a fall as quickly as we can, it is also about what we must do next. We cannot just get back up and continue with the same old ways.
Resilience is an essential skill to help us face all kinds of adversity in our work and lives. While it can be applicable to organisations and businesses as a whole, it all begins with the individual resilience. Id like to leave you with a quote for inspiration from Maya Angelou, an American poet, and civil rights activist. She said: I can be changed by what happens to me, but I refuse to be reduced by it.

Every new year we are supposed to make resolutions. Some are about losing weight, others are about working harder or even spending more time with family and friends. My favorite is the annual goal of working out to get into better shape.
This year, my goal is to have a flatter stomach and maybe even a six pack that you see on the TV commercials for gym equipment. Therefore, I will set my sights on 18,250 sit-ups and that should wrap it up.
Thats the goal for the year and it is a finite number that I not only wrote it down, but have it stuck in my head for me to accomplish this year. Well, as we both know thats a pretty big number and it kind of sticks out at you. I have another way to look at this, how about 50 sit-ups per day. If so, fairly easy to do and maybe a three- to five minute routine. This way by the end of the year I will hit my magical work out number of 18,250.
Whats the point here? Simple, break things down into bite-sized pieces. This way they are easier to digest and the goals can be reached with more consistency and discipline. Trust me, even if you did 18,250 sit-ups in one session, the results will not last long.
Look at this in a simple phase: A goal without a plan is a wish. We wish to do things, but we plan out our specific goals. Zig Ziglar, the motivational speaker summed it up perfectly when he said Isnt it amazing how much stuff we get done the day before our vacation. It seems we always put off the things we do not want to do, and we always find time for the things that bring us pleasure.
Setting goals is not that difficult when you keep in mind the four basic rules:
It has a specific time frame (days, weeks, or months).
It is measurable (so you know when youve achieved it)
It is realistic (so you dont get frustrated and give up).
It is challenging (so you have a sense of accomplishment).
If you keep in mind a little common sense, do what you think is right, and most importantly set aside the time to accomplish your goals you will find out that you have achieved what you originally set out to do.
In the workplace sometimes we are either given too many things to do, try to accomplish too much in a short time frame or give ourselves self imposed deadlines that can be unrealistic. The key is to sometimes strategize with yourself what can be done, which task needs priority and what the outcome will be.
We have more stress in our lives due to the onslaught of technology. As we are trying to accomplish one thing, either the texts, emails, telephone calls or notifications come in which can cause distractions, frustrations, or even anxiety. What I have been trying to say is do what you can, break things down into smaller pieces and do your best, and above all enjoy the day. You might find little more peace and happiness that way.

But thats not the biggest reason we can look at the Bulldogs as having national title potential. The reason the bar is so high for Georgia this season is how often it managed to walk face-first into that bar Saturday and still beat a pretty good Tennessee team 44-21.

Baba Ramdev’s yoga act on elephant draws lawyers’ notice, saying it was an act of cruelty to the animal – India Legal

New Delhi (ILNS): A lawyers notice has been sent to yoga guru Baba Ramdev and the Director of Elephant Rescue Center Churmura (Mathura) by advocates of Agra district for an act of cruelty against an elephant on which the Baba was trying a yoga posture. The Baba fell down during his act and has been reportedly hurt, but the notice was for the well-being of the elephant.
Advocates Narendra Sharma, SP Bhardwaj, Gagan Sharma, Rajveer Singh and Rakhi Chauhan have sent this notice jointly, considering the act as cruelty against the animal under the Wildlife Protection Act.
The lawyers said that millions of people follow the yoga practices of yoga guru Ramdev, the founder of the Pantjali Yoga Peeth. The yoga guru has violated the Wildlife Protection Act by doing yoga on a creature that has place as a symbol of speech and religion.
The government prohibits the use and demonstration of organisms/animals kept in the special category (and exploitation) for commercial activity. There is a provision for punishment and fine on the violation. The director of Elephant Rescue Center Churmura has also not discharged his duties. Animal cruelty has been promoted, which is a dangerous message for wildlife and society.
The notice warns against taking legal action if there is no proper reply within seven days.

In the study, a group of participants ages 40 to 65 performed facial exercises for 30 minutes a day for eight weeks. Then for 12 more weeks, they practiced the exercises three to four times per week. At the end of the 20 weeks, the study participants saw improved upper and lower cheek fullness. They also looked younger at the end of the study, with two dermatologists estimating the participants average age was 50.8 years old at the start of the study and 48.1 years 20 weeks later.
You shouldnt expect drastic changes, though. The JAMA Dermatology study authors noted that their participant sample was small and the results were modest. And keep in mind that face exercises wont alter the texture of your skin, according to Harvard Health, though moving and stretching scarred skin through face yoga can lessen the appearance of scars.

Leaning on face yoga as your go-to anti-aging regimen may backfire, too. Some experts say contorting your face in these ways can actually lead to more wrinkles.
Many facial wrinkles for example, crows-feet, laugh lines, and forehead wrinkles result from repetitive facial muscle activity such as frowning or smiling, Dr. Chen says. Some question whether routinely pulling your face and exercising those muscles could create wrinkles and fine lines.
Think of Botox, which works by freezing the muscles in the face in order to minimize the appearance of wrinkles. With face yoga, youre doing just the opposite, and if done too aggressively or incorrectly, Chen says facial yoga may actually accelerate signs of aging.
Not to mention, sweaty hands carry dirt, oil, and bacteria that can clog pores and cause breakouts. In fact, the American Academy of Dermatology Associationrecommends not touching your face to help prevent acne.

SOUTH BEAVER TWP. A group of yoga devotees unrolled their mats in preparation for a class Saturday morning.
Are there any animals that you might be afraid of? Anybody afraid of chickens or turkeys, goats, sheep? asked Lisa Marie Sopko.
Its not the usual introduction to a yoga class, but this wasnt a usual class.
In fact, most of the people who attended the nearly 45-minute Yoga With the Animals session came not only for exercise, but to interact with animals thatgrazed in a bucolic pasture at Kindred Spirits Rescue Ranch.
Sopko, with husband John, owns the 20-acre, nonprofit farm thats been a sanctuary for neglected, abused, or abandoned animals for more than a year.
Proceeds from the first-time event will go toward building a multi-use barn to serve as temporary emergency shelter for humane officers statewide to house hoarded or neglected animals or as a pop-up shelter for animals needing housing due to natural disasters.
Animals were introduced gradually with Kevin, a Zebu steer; Zoe, a miniature horse; Saylor, a Nigerian dwarf goat; Scout, a donkey; Bluebell, a Nubian goat; and Pepper, a turkey among the first.
Im not exactly sure how its going to go, Sopko told participants. I expect that theyre (animals) going to be very interactive.
And she offered cautionary advice, especially when yogis engaged in downward and upward dog poses: Keep your eyes out for the animals that have horns as they could interpret those positions as a challenge.
If you see something running toward you, just stand up, she said.
Not to worry. The animals were respectful and decorous. As more were introduced mostly goats they were more interested in nibbling weeds, grass and low-hanging tree leaves on the pastures perimeter.
But Kevin was curious and sidled next to Marcy Rudolph of Baden.
It was pretty awesome, she said, as the cow, rescued last year at a horse auction, bent its head toward her.
She and niece, Sarah Westover of South Beaver Township, both practice yoga and love animals.
We dont really get farm life very much so its just nice to do something thats really unique and seemed really fun, Rudolph said.
Westover said she knew it was the right decision as soon as they arrived: Several animals in an enclosure ran to the fence to greet them.
This was great, Rudolph enthused. I would totally do this again.
Would definitely do it again, echoed Westover.
Natosha Durr of Chippewa Township came with her 10-year-old daughter Alianna. Both practice yoga.
Alianna has seen YouTube videos of yoga with goats.
Shes been wanting to do a goat yoga so this is a good mix of the two, Natosha said.
Ill probably have a goat or animal on my back, Alianna said hopefully.
The pair enrolled because its a good cause, said Natosha.
The event was a family outing for Brandy Woods of North Sewickley Township and her daughter, Maura, 4; mother Sherry Eiler of Darlington; and sister Candice Sprecker of Baden.
Maura loves animals, her mom said, and exercises around the home with us.
Im trying to support her, Eiler said of Sopkos animal rescue efforts. Shes a neighbor and I try to support her.
Its just a lot of fun watching them move about, Woods said of the animals. Well do as much as we can do to support what she (Sopko) does. Its really a great thing.
As yoga instructor Kristen Hannan of Pittsburgh guided participants through various poses, roosters crowed, horses whinnied, sheep bleated, and donkeys brayed.
Outdoors, animals, yoga all good things. Thats what we want, said Jen Stratakis of Robinson Township, reflecting on the pastoral peacefulness.
Yoga is moving your body in time with your breath. Its physically healing, its mentally calming, and adding the animals to it is like pet therapy, if youre an animal lover, of course. Theres soothing presence…Its fun having them interact with us as were moving our bodies and enjoying this beautiful day.
Leah Younkins of Moon Township thinks animals can sense the benefits we get from yoga the calming and it helps to calm them.
Elyse Mancini Ross of Brighton Township practices yoga but has never done so with animals.
I love yoga, I do lots of yoga, but I wanted to connect with the animals, she said, just to have the feeling of peace come through you with the animals, just connected with nature and the universe. Yoga just sweetens the pot. It feels really good.
Beth Newman of Mars was especially moved by the days event. She and Sopko have been friends since their middle school days. Newmans 20-year-old daughter Gabby, who aspired to be an equine veterinarian, spent the summer as an intern at Kindred Spirits Rescue Ranch.
On Aug. 5, three donkeys escaped a pen. In an attempt to herd them back, Gabby took an off-the-road vehicle in pursuit. Somehow the ATV rolled over on nearby Cole Road and Gabby was killed.
The days hence have not been easy for Newman, but shes bolstered by Sopkos plans to build the new barn and dedicate it to Gabby.
Lisa and I, were both people of faith and we both think that there needs to be something positive about it (Gabbys death).
It has to be Gods idea and Gods timing, but something good is going to come out of it and we think it would be wonderful to build another barn so she can help more animals, said Newman.
This whole farm she (Gabby) just loved it. I can just see her here. Everywhere I go is just an image of her so every time I come here its kind of like being with her, said Newman, as tears welled in her eyes.
I havent cried for a few days and when I say cry, this is just tearing up, she said. She loved every single animal. She knew all their names and their histories. She was the only one who could tell the difference between all the sheep.
As for the new barn being dedicated to her daughters memory, Newman said I cant imagine anything Gabby could want more. She just loved animals.
Sopko hopes to break ground this month on the new barn estimated to cost $62,000. So far, about $30,000 has been raised. She said 39 people registered for Saturdays event that cost $25.
Im pleased with the turnout, she said. Its wonderful. I had expected maybe 15 to 20 people.
Sopko said shed love to repeat the event again and again and again. I think its going to be something thats so great for the people as well as the animals.
