Panzy Evelyn "Deb" LaFaver, 88 year old Checotah resident, died peacefully, Thursday, November 15, 2012 in Muskogee, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Saturday, January 5, 1924 in Atoka County where she grew up and went to school until the 8th grade. She met, fell in love and married Odis (Red) Moore. They farmed together and she became a homemaker. Upon the death of Red on Thursday, November 3, 1966, she moved her family to Oklahoma City where she went to work for Rey #39;s Nursery, then to Capitol Gardens Nursery, later working for TLC from which she retired in 1991 as a Horticulturalist. She married JR LaFaver and after her retirement they moved to the Pierce area to be near her family. Panzy had a strong faith in her Lord, loving Him with all of heart, soul and mind, always encouraging her family to know Him and tell others about Him. She loved to fish, garden and was a huge Yankee #39;s Baseball fan, and enjoyed watching Nascar, PBR Bull Riding on TV and enjoyed listening to country music. She attended the Brush Hill Baptist Church. Panzy will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Birtie Adams; second husband JR on Monday, November 3, 1997; two brothers, Don Adams and JT Adams; four sisters, Eunice Penick, Ruby Woods-Selerla, Gladys Pearson and Lois (Tigert) Towler. American violinist Albert Spalding (1888-1953) / Caprice Viennois (Kreisler) / Recorded: c.1915? -- Spalding was born in Chicago, Illinois, in 1888. His mother, Marie Boardman, was a contralto and pianist. His father, James Walter Spalding, and uncle, Hall-of-Fame baseball pitcher Albert Spalding, created the AG Spalding sporting goods company. Spalding studied the violin privately in New York City and Florence, and at the conservatories in Paris and Bologna; the latter graduated him with honors when he was fourteen. Following his debut in Paris on June 6, 1906, he appeared successfully in London and Vienna. His first American appearance as soloist came with the New York Symphony on November 8, 1908. A year later he soloed with the Dresden Philharmonic Orchestra when that orchestra toured the United States. In 1916, he was recognized as a national honorary member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, the national fraternity for men in music. During World War I, Spalding served in the US Army Air Corps (at one point as aide-de-camp to Major Fiorello La Guardia) and would eventually be awarded the Cross of the Crown of Italy. Not long after his return to the United States, he married Mary Vanderhoef Pyle on July 19, 1919, in Ridgefield, Connecticut.
