When you need help, we’re here for you. – Verizon Communications

When Danielle Volen, a Sales Training Lead for Verizon Media based in Los Angeles, heard about the Neurodiversity ERG (employee resource group), she wasnt sure it was right for her.

Danielle has battled an eating disorder since she was a teenager and was even hospitalized several times throughout high school and college. Since starting work at Verizon Media, she has been seeing therapists and dieticians and is doing well.

I became aware of the neurodivergent group through my old manager, but I was hesitant to join and expose myself because being vulnerable is scary, explained Danielle. I also felt like that was not something that would reflect positively on me in a work environment.

But eventually Danielle did engage with the group and found the inclusive and welcoming community to be a great fit for her. I think things have clicked more for me when I joined because there is a whole spectrum of people dealing with different mental health challenges and it manifests in different ways. I realized this is not something Im experiencing in a vacuum and it helped me to accept it instead of trying to push it away.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented new challenges for Danielle. Part of me felt guilty because my struggles with food and anxiety seemed so trivial compared to what was going on. Ive had to stay honest with myself as to what is healthy for me right now and make sure that Im owning what is going on with me and sharing it.

Currently, Danielle does not have access to her treatment providers in-person, making the monthly ERG meetings especially helpful right now. Attendance has been high, so I think people are looking for a place to connect and share.

Danielle encourages anyone with mental health issues or an interest in the group to give it a try. You dont deserve to go through life with this burden on you. When you are ready, the Neurodiversity ERG will be here for you.

New Normal and Beyond: Integrity Solutions Points to the Benefits of Virtual Training as a Current & Long-term Solution – Business Wire

Posted: at 4:44 pm

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The leading sales training and coaching firm, Integrity Solutions, is detailing the benefits of virtual training for building skills with team members during the current COVID-19 pandemic and later when business returns to normal.

Integrity Solutions has distilled years of insights in a timely blog that speaks to how virtual training drives results which many companies will seek to extend beyond the current pandemic lock-down.

Though were not a virtual training company, per se, weve been at the forefront of blending live virtual, in-person and digital training for many years. Were glad to see more clients actively embrace virtual training now, said Mike Esterday, CEO of Integrity Solutions. Focusing on effectiveness is key for having success with virtual training and that goes way beyond just having a Zoom account, Esterday added.

Integrity Solutions has designed courses specifically with the virtual learner in mind to drive maximum engagement, interaction and relevance. This involves shorter sessions, small group break-out rooms, and frequent collaboration among learners. Whats more, the firm adapted its flagship learning solution Integrity Selling into a blended solution two years ago, featuring both virtual and blended learning.

Integrity Solutions virtual clients are seeing greater engagement because live video technology makes it harder for trainees to hide.

Its almost counterintuitive but its true: Virtual training allows for a higher and more personal engagement with trainees because theyre more visible and a facilitator can more regularly engage them in the learning, said Esterday. And because youre bringing the training to them, there are no barriers to entry or excuses for not attending, he added.

Integrity Solutions focuses on training the whole person with a values-centered approach that develops both the skillset and the mindset needed to equip sales teams to rise up and lead by building trusted customer relationships grounded in integrity.

The firms legacy spans more than 50 years, 130 countries and industries including healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, energy and utilities, agriculture and more.

Integrity Solutions has been recognized with multiple Stevie Awards for sales training excellence in 2020 and 2019 and as a 2020 Top 20 Sales Training Company by Training Industry. The firm was also recognized as a top training company in 2019 by Selling Power.

BenchPrep Named to Inc. Magazine’s Annual List of Best Workplaces for 2020 – GlobeNewswire

video-release

BenchPrep empowers you to deliver an unmatched learning experience that is personalized, engaging and fun. Learn more at https://benchprep.com/

CHICAGO, May 07, 2020 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- BenchPrep, the configurable cloud-based learning platform for corporations, training companies, and nonprofits, has been named to Inc. magazines annual list of the Best Workplaces for 2020. Hitting newsstands May 12 in the May/June 2020 issue, and as part of a prominent Inc.com feature, the list is the result of a wide-ranging and comprehensive measurement of private American companies that have created exceptional workplaces through vibrant cultures, deep employee engagement, and stellar benefits.

BenchPrep is an award-winning advanced online learning platform that helps organizations increase learner engagement, improve outcomes, and drive learner success. The technology delivers streamlined content management and instructional design, along with advanced educator tools, analytics dashboards, and reporting, in one comprehensive solution.

Collecting data from more than 3,000 submissions, Inc. singled out 395 finalists for this years list. Each nominated company took part in an employee survey, conducted by Quantum Workplace, on topics including trust, management effectiveness, perks, and confidence in the future. Inc. gathered, analyzed, and audited the data. Then we ranked all the employers using a composite score of survey results. This year, 73.5 percent of surveyed employees were engaged by their work.

The strongest engagement scores came from companies that prioritize the most human elements of work. These companies are leading the way in employee recognition, performance management, and diversity. It is a different playbook from a decade ago, when too many firms used the same template: free food, open work environments, and artifacts of fun.

I am so proud and humbled that BenchPrep has been recognized on Inc.s Best Workplaces for 2020. With Crains Chicago and the Timmy Awards also recently recognizing our leadership in company culture, it is truly gratifying that we are now receiving national accolades in this regard too, said Ujjwal Gupta, Co-Founder & COO of BenchPrep. At BenchPrep, we have always believed that company culture and bottom line success are intertwined. We look forward to continuing to grow a successful organization led by happy, driven, and innovative employees.

Building a great corporate culture comes only from strong leadership, says Inc. magazine editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. The companies on Inc.s Best Workplaces list are setting an example that the whole country can learn from, especially now, when company culture is more important to the workforce than ever.

While researching the finalists, Inc. and Quantum saw distinct themes:

IFEL launches ‘Small Businesses Need Us’ initiative to help those impacted by COVID-19 – ROI-NJ.com

Posted: at 4:43 pm

The Institute for Entrepreneurial Leadership announced on Tuesday it has launched Small Businesses Need Us, an initiate to help small businesses survive and recover from the impact of the coronavirus.

While financial capital is critical in this crisis, small business owners also have to steady the ship and consider new destinations. We are calling on business professionals to volunteer their expertise and skills to help small business owners address immediate needs, create pivot strategies and develop a plan to operate in a social distancing environment. Its time for us to get off the sidelines and get in the game to help save small businesses, Jill Johnson, CEO of IFEL, said.

Through the initiative, volunteers will be matched via phone or video conferencing based on the needs of each business. They can choose short projects, a set number of hours, answering online questions or offering in-kind products and services. Volunteers will offer their knowledge and skills in areas such as:accounting/bookkeeping, copywriting/content development, restaurant management, human resources, marketing/public relations/social media, merchandising/packaging, operations, sales strategy/sales training/presentation development, strategic consulting/business model reinvention, supply chain management, technology hardware/software, website development, and more.

Just as medical professionals are on the front lines saving lives, business professionals must join together to save our small businesses. Already capital-starved small businesses in our most resource-poor communities are facing the threat of extinction. If we dont act today to pave the way for economic recovery, tomorrow may be too late to save for the vast majority of small businesses and the jobs they represent, Johnson said.

To apply for the program, sign up at SmallBusinessNeedsUs.Org.

Fendrick said Lumpkins would be missed as he heads into retirement and that the KOBELCO USA team is thankful they had the chance to work alongside him.
