Back on form: Paul Gascoigne's bid to become a kids' football coach
Posted: at 9:52 am
Booze addict football legend Paul Gascoigne wants to start coaching to get his life back on track.
The FA and England head physio Gary Lewin are organising a hip operation for the troubled star so he can play again.
Gazza, 45, has even lined up a role coaching kids at League One's AFC Bournemouth once fit.
He said: "I might start doing my coaching badges again. When I'm coaching I need to twist and turn properly so I can show the lads some of the amazing things I used to do."
The ex Newcastle and Tottenham midfielder punctured a lung in a car crash in June 2010 and has battled booze addiction since quitting the game in 2004.
Gazza, who played 57 times for England, moved to Dorset last year.
But two months ago friends checked him back into rehab after he reportedly went on a gin and Valium bender.

Pistons' Tayshaun Prince thinking of coaching some day, but says it's a tougher job
Posted: at 9:52 am
An appearance as an analyst on NBA TV in the off-season shows that Tayshaun Prince is thinking about life after basketball.
Although he is just 32 and plans to sign another contract before he retires, Prince is closer to the end of his career than the beginning.
TV's long hours were a revelation, but it remains an option. But what about coaching?
Several previous coaches have mentioned Prince as a possible coach down the line. Prince said he once thought coaching was a no-brainer, but after 10 seasons, he's not so sure.
"You had so many veteran guys when I first came in the league," Prince said. "Guys with experience, guys with knowledge. It was much easier to coach them, if you ask my perspective.
"If you ask coaches today, I don't know if they would say the same thing as I will, but I would say back then it was much easier to coach.
"Nowadays with so many more younger guys, a lot of guys with no college experience or maybe one year of college experience. There's so much more to be taught so a few more gray hairs."
BRIEFLY: Corey Maggette (sore left calf) is making progress and performed skill work after Saturday's practice to prepare for Sunday's game against the Lakers. He still hasn't participated in a full-contact practice since suffering the injury more than two weeks ago.
"He's just trying (to) get healthy and comfortable in a game situation; he feels comfortable exploding off that leg and his calf feels right," Pistons coach Lawrence Frank said.

Seeing people at their best... Seeing the divine in them... it is IMPORTANT. It affects your relationship and it changes who they are. As we start seeing one another as our best, our baseline actually starts to rise. INCLUDES: - Learn to see people "with their puppy." at their best - People like to hang out with people who are visualizing them at their best. - We tend to meet people #39;s expectations. - Everybody wants to be their best. if others believe that they are, they step into the role. It snowballs. - Practice noticing the things that are going well. - Its tempting to remember the negative. For ourselves and others. Instead, remember the high points! - Allow ourselves our dips, but focus on the peaks. - forgiving the lows and accentuating the peaks raises the baseline. - puppy HUG __ post hug (actually pre-hug) - Finding evidence of what you are looking for - Private coaching - In college, I studied psychology and wanted to be a councillor. I wanted to help healthy people get even better. - Now there is a field of "Life Coaching", for people who are healthy and want to get better! Thrilling! - I see a LIfe Coach, and its been very valuable. - I advise everyone to dedicate something, towards your pursuit of joy. - growth is about gaining tools. Which can snap you back into a joyful headspace. - How to tell your story. Be a better editor.
