SPIRITUALITY / NEW THOUGHT

Within society there exists a silent war. The battlefield is our everyday lives: our education, our work, our leisure, our emotional and spiritual well-being, and our thinking and perceptions. Our very sense of reality is deliberately engineered to work against conscious evolution and preserve social norms. In short, we are all part of a war of consciousness. And the opportunity is at hand for us to win.

Assessing the ways modern societies limit consciousness and keep humanity obedient and distracted from their inner lives, Kingsley Dennis presents an eye-opening investigation of the way our minds have been programmed to preserve incumbent power structures and their rules. He exposes the tactics employed for thousands of years by the elite to control our minds--misinformation and propaganda, debt systems, consumerism, religious doctrine, scientific authority, economic uncertainties, fear of terrorist attacks and armageddon, distraction through entertainment and technology--as well as the false belief that we are separate from Nature and the Divine. Despite these obstacles, humanity is awakening to cultures imposed limits on perception through an accelerating rise in collective empathy and awareness.

Exploring the biology of consciousness, Dennis reveals the emerging mechanisms for neurogenetic evolution within the brains of gifted individuals, psychics, and visionaries and the coming increases in solar and magnetic energies that will activate them within all of us. Explaining how we can free up mental and emotional energy to break through the barriers inhibiting conscious evolution, he shows that by taking back our minds and changing the way we think, we can restore our connection with Nature and the Divine and lead humanity into a new age of harmony and awareness.

KINGSLEY L. DENNIS, Ph.D., is a sociologist, writer, and cofounder of WorldShift International. The author of New Consciousness for a New World, he spends his time between Andalusia, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Reciprocal System researchers are having a very interesting behind the scenes discussion on natural limits of physical systems that indicate it may not be physically possible for man to boldly go where no man has gone before and travel to distant worldsmankind may actually be trapped within the Earth-Moon system, in a kind of quarantine. These conclusions came out of the natural consequences of the cross-referencing of ther research with the Reciprocal System model.

The basic argument is interesting life is a stable matter-antimatter reaction with the body being the material half (3D space) and the soul, mind or anima being the cosmic antimatter half (3D time). Astronauts can launch their bodies into spacebut what of that silver cord that connects the body to the soul? It was well known in alchemical and magical circles that if the silver cord gets cut, or stretched too far and breaks, it means the immediate death of the person that lost the connection. So one must ponder whether the soul half of the life unit travels along with the astronaut, or remains attached to the temporal core of the planet stretching only so far, before it breaks, with life coming to an abrupt end.

Most life here has a group soul structure, which is a nonlocal connection analogous to a magnetic field where one, archetypal soul (the magnet) plays host to a large number of individual bodies (iron filings in the field, with induced magnetism). Think of a school of fish or flock of birdseach has an independent body, but they think and move as one mind. Most of the sheeple inhabiting Earth fall into this category; large groups of humans have independent bodies, but share a group soul. Of course, New Age dogma speaks of soul groups, but curiously leaves out this rather obvious connection, preferring to treat it as traveling buddies.

This opens up some interesting thoughts regarding space travel. All food plants and food animals work by soul groups, so if they were removed from Earth to stock an aeroponics/hydroponics bay on Earthship Ark, they could not survive past the length of the silver cord connecting them back to the planet. Go too far and you get a mass extinction event in your food supply.

Most humans fall into the same bound by group soul category, but there are a few nonconformists that just dont fit into socially acceptable society and have individuated souls. However, given the obsession with materialism and ever-dropping interest in spiritual development (until somebody comes up with an app for it), individuated souls have become a rare occurrence. A century ago, individuation was actually the direction mankind was headed with the change occurring around 1925 with the discovery of the germanium triode tube by one T. Henry Moray of Salt Lake City, Utah, uSA. Curiously, he was denied a patent for the device because his tube, being a solid state transistor device, lacked a filament and hot cathode. And everybody knows a tube cannot work without a hot cathode! Or at least thats what the patent office said.

The harder life of the old days promoted the growth of an individuated soul. If you were not being a good slave for the King of your domain, you had to learn to survive on your ownand that lack of reliance on others triggers the process of individuation. This may also explain why outcasts tend to have strong spiritsthey have an individuated body and mind, providing the foundation for the spirit/animus complex to grow on. If you are part of the collective, then it is like trying to stand upright with one foot on land and the other on the surface of water. In the astronaut situation, that would definitely result in a splashdown.

The L-Ms, however, do not seem to have this issue because they have outgrown the group mind and evolved the Social Memory Complex. Think of the group mind as a many to one relationship, many bodies, with one mind that is the master. In the SMC, the relation is many to many that choose to work together in rapportthe one is the choice, not the structure.

The L-M Version of Seinfeld

The L-Ms can leave the planet and explore the Universe because they take their personal souls with them. Since they use natural motherships, their Arks being constructed from moons and asteroids that are supernova remnants, they have a fully functional, ready-made environment that supports both body, soul and spirit, complete with a local, temporal corethe inner sun of these portable planets. They arent crew on these Arks, they are more like colonists, taking what they need with them, including the life support system. As such, they can travel for unlimited periods across space (particularly since there is evidence that the natural aging process stops once you leave the surface world).

Many New Age sources state that the Earth is in some kind of quarantine that traps mankind here on the world and it is the desire of the New World Order and The Powers That Be to break this quarantine and head out to conquer space, just like in all the old Sci-Fi films.

What is being uncovered has led to the conclusion that this quarantine is a natural consequence of the evolution of consciousness, existing to prevent undeveloped species from getting too far from home until they learn to grow up and play together, nicely. I dont know about you, but from my perspective, humanity appears to be heading in the opposite direction.

But the really big consequence is that all these secret space programs are nothing more than propaganda. Those on the inside know that the Apollo program was just a Hollywood production filmed at Area 51 (Project ASP, Apollo Simulation Program) and the astronauts never went further than Earth orbit, so they could have an appropriate splashdown for the TV cameras. The rest was filmed on a sound stage ahead of time and edited in for the live broadcast. It is starting to appear that the situation is much larger than just the faked moon landingsmost of the spacecraft sent out into the solar system were probably faked, as well, and what we are seeing for hi-res images from these ships are nothing more than good computer graphics, modeled after images taken from Earth and orbit-based telescopes.

There is some evidence that a few astronauts may have visited other worlds in our solar system, but they would have to have special training in ethics and psychology to get over the soul connection issue, which a dedicated explorer would probably have. Man can exist on the Moon, as it is within range. Ever since the Philadelphia Project, the black ops folks have known that you cannot just grab anyone off the street and send them into time and spaceonly a very small part of the population can do it and usually requires someone with developed psionic skills.

Of our extra-planetary missions, the only ones Ive seen viable evidence for are:

The Nazi scientist orbital mission in the Haunebu (1930s) that was intercepted by a race of peaceful explorers before the ship was destroyed (from design flaws) and the occupants given a little tour of the Universe before being returned. Their enlightenment resulted in their sabotaging the Nazi spacecraft program.

One manned trip to the Moon in a Bellcraft (the re-engineered Haunebu) in the late 1950s, where humanity met with the Selenites and were told mankind was not welcome there and dont call us, well call you. In reprisal, the United States proposed Project A119the lets blow up the moon project, abandoned in 1959 as unfeasible.

While at Montauk, I was recruited into their version of the Psi-Corps (popularized on Babylon 5, a far better show than Big Bang Theory) because they were actively seeking technical people with engineering and computer skills that possessed psionic ability, whom could be developed and enhanced to their needs. I never got far enough into the program to discover their ultimate objectives, but getting past the quarantine may well have been one of them.

So our world leaders, rather than saying to humanity, hey, were all trapped here until we grow up, then get caught with their hands in the Idiocracy jar, decided to fake it and distort astronomical data to make the universe huge and unreachable by man in the foreseeable future. Convert the nearby solar systems (that are light days away) into galaxies, far, far away, then deny contact from these other, nearby civilizations because it is scientifically impossible for them to get here, just like a Moray patent application. So here we sit, kicking sand in each others faces because we feel cut off, alone and isolated from the rest of the Universe.

Right now we are cut off, and you have your illustrious leaders to thank for that with their S-M technology and chemtrail screens. But hey, you voted for them, even if you didnt vote, because silence is consent. At least that is what it says in the Uniform Commercial Code that runs every aspect of our legal lives. Perhaps we should change the name of the planet to Ferenginar.

In summary, what has turned up is that the limits of mankinds collective silver cord, the link that bonds his body and soul into a living organism, has a physical extent that is just outside the orbit of the Moon. But the NWO types wanted the Moon to themselves and as a consequence, after making first contact with the Selenite civilizations, got thrown off and told not to come back. And there is nowhere else to go at this time, except the space stations that corporations like Bigelow Aerospace are putting so much effort into.

Mankind can bark his brains out at the other, nearby worlds from here, but its all bark and no bite, since he cannot get his weapons of destruction past the natural limits of the Earth-Moon system. Man is not yet a threat to the peaceful explorers and will not encounter them until he learns to cut his chains that tie him to the species collective, which must be done by conscious evolutionthe opposite direction that The Powers That Be are leading the species. And The Powers That Be dont like being trapped, particularly when they know the entire solar system is evolving, the sun is getting larger and hotter and things will be changing. So theyve got their underground bases, space stations and chemical screens to block off the natural path to evolutionand we, the humble peasants, are paying the price for it. Unless the peasants are revolting, and to these NWO types, they certainly are.

If you consider this situation, it is no wonder they enforce all these artificial boundaries of countries, nations, states, counties, districts fences for the minions, so the one of the one-to-many relationship, the big magnet, themselves, can make all the decisions. Though something they may not have considered is that if they dont take enough slaves with them when they go into hiding, there may not be sufficient bioenergy to keep the group mind functioningand they wont survive, either. We have seen species extinctions before when the population size reaches a low point, and I cannot see why that law of Nature would omit mankind. But I live in hope.

There may come a time soon that True Seekers may feel that they lose their soul, but in reality, they are just cutting their chainsgetting ready for the next stage of evolution, the Tomorrow People, homo sapiens ethicus, ready to individuate from the Annunaki-created human collective and move out into space to join the peaceful explorers of the Universe. But understand it is not a handoutyou have to work for your evolution. Hope porn is every bit as bad as fear porn.

Bicameralism (psychology) – Wikipedia

Posted: August 8, 2018 at 1:44 am

Bicameralism (the condition of being divided into "two-chambers") is a hypothesis in psychology that argues that the human mind once operated in a state in which cognitive functions were divided between one part of the brain which appears to be "speaking", and a second part which listens and obeys a bicameral mind. The term was coined by Julian Jaynes, who presented the idea in his 1976 book The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind,[1] wherein he made the case that a bicameral mentality was the normal and ubiquitous state of the human mind as recently as 3,000 years ago, near the end of the Mediterranean bronze age.

Jaynes uses governmental bicameralism as a metaphor to describe a mental state in which the experiences and memories of the right hemisphere of the brain are transmitted to the left hemisphere via auditory hallucinations. The metaphor is based on the idea of lateralization of brain function although each half of a normal human brain is constantly communicating with the other through the corpus callosum. The metaphor is not meant to imply that the two halves of the bicameral brain were "cut off" from each other but that the bicameral mind was experienced as a different, non-conscious mental schema wherein volition in the face of novel stimuli was mediated through a linguistic control mechanism and experienced as auditory verbal hallucination.

Bicameral mentality would be non-conscious in its inability to reason and articulate about mental contents through meta-reflection, reacting without explicitly realizing and without the meta-reflective ability to give an account of why one did so. The bicameral mind would thus lack metaconsciousness, autobiographical memory, and the capacity for executive "ego functions" such as deliberate mind-wandering and conscious introspection of mental content. When bicamerality as a method of social control was no longer adaptive in complex civilizations, this mental model was replaced by the conscious mode of thought which, Jaynes argued, is grounded in the acquisition of metaphorical language learned by exposure to narrative practice.

According to Jaynes, ancient people in the bicameral state of mind would have experienced the world in a manner that has some similarities to that of a schizophrenic. Rather than making conscious evaluations in novel or unexpected situations, the person would hallucinate a voice or "god" giving admonitory advice or commands and obey without question: One would not be at all conscious of one's own thought processes per se. Research into "command hallucinations" that often direct the behavior of those labeled schizophrenic, as well as other voice hearers, supports Jaynes's hypothesis.[2][not in citation given]

Jaynes built a case for this hypothesis that human brains existed in a bicameral state until as recently as 3000years ago by citing evidence from many diverse sources including historical literature. He took an interdisciplinary approach, drawing data from many different fields.[3] Jaynes asserted that, until roughly the times written about in Homer's Iliad, humans did not generally have the self-awareness characteristic of consciousness as most people experience it today. Rather, the bicameral individual was guided by mental commands believed to be issued by external "gods" commands which were recorded in ancient myths, legends and historical accounts. This is exemplified not only in the commands given to characters in ancient epics but also the very muses of Greek mythology which "sang" the poems. According to Jaynes, the ancients literally heard muses as the direct source of their music and poetry.

Jaynes asserts that in the Iliad and sections of the Old Testament no mention is made of any kind of cognitive processes such as introspection, and there is no apparent indication that the writers were self-aware. Jaynes suggests, the older portions of the Old Testament (such as the Book of Amos) have few or none of the features of some later books of the Old Testament (such as Ecclesiastes) as well as later works such as Homer's Odyssey, which show indications of a profoundly different kind of mentality an early form of consciousness.[3]

In ancient times, Jaynes noted, gods were generally much more numerous and much more anthropomorphic than in modern times, and speculates that this was because each bicameral person had their own "god" who reflected their own desires and experiences.[4]

He also noted that in ancient societies the corpses of the dead were often treated as though still alive (being seated, dressed, and even fed) as a form of ancestor worship, and Jaynes argued that the dead bodies were presumed to be still living and the source of auditory hallucinations.[3] This adaptation to the village communities of 100individuals or more formed the core of religion. Unlike today's hallucinations, the voices of ancient times were structured by cultural norms to produce a seamlessly functioning society.

Jaynes inferred that these "voices" came from the right brain counterparts of the left brain language centres; specifically, the counterparts to Wernicke's area and Broca's area. These regions are somewhat dormant in the right brains of most modern humans, but Jaynes noted that some studies show that auditory hallucinations correspond to increased activity in these areas of the brain.[3]

Jaynes notes that even at the time of publication there is no consensus as to the cause or origins of schizophrenia. Jaynes argues that schizophrenia is a vestige of humanity's earlier bicameral state.[3] Recent evidence shows that many schizophrenics do not just hear random voices but experience "command hallucinations" instructing their behavior or urging them to commit certain acts.[full citation needed]

As support for Jaynes's argument, these command hallucinations are little different from the commands from gods which feature prominently in ancient stories.[3] Indirect evidence supporting Jaynes's theory that hallucinations once played an important role in human mentality can be found in the recent book Muses, Madmen, and Prophets: Rethinking the History, Science, and Meaning of Auditory Hallucination by Daniel Smith.[5]

Jaynes theorized that a shift from bicameralism marked the beginning of introspection and consciousness as we know it today. According to Jaynes, this bicameral mentality began malfunctioning or "breaking down" during the 2ndmillenniumBCE. He speculates that primitive ancient societies tended to collapse periodically: for example, Egypt's Intermediate Periods, as well as the periodically vanishing cities of the Mayas, as changes in the environment strained the socio-cultural equilibria sustained by this bicameral mindset.

The Bronze age collapse of the 2ndmillenniumBCE led to mass migrations and created a rash of unexpected situations and stresses which required ancient minds to become more flexible and creative. Self-awareness, or consciousness, was the culturally evolved solution to this problem. This necessity of communicating commonly observed phenomena among individuals who shared no common language or cultural upbringing encouraged those communities to become self-aware to survive in a new environment. Thus consciousness, like bicamerality, emerged as a neurological adaptation to social complexity in a changing world.[citation needed]

Jaynes further argues that divination, prayer, and oracles arose during this breakdown period, in an attempt to summon instructions from the "gods" whose voices could no longer be heard.[3] The consultation of special bicamerally operative individuals, or of divination by casting lots and so forth, was a response to this loss, a transitional era depicted, for example, in the book of 1 Samuel. It was also evidenced in children who could communicate with the gods, but as their neurology was set by language and society they gradually lost that ability. Those who continued prophesying, being bicameral according to Jaynes, could be killed.[6][7] Leftovers of the bicameral mind today, according to Jaynes, include religion, hypnosis, possession, schizophrenia, and the general sense of need for external authority in decision-making.[citation needed]

An early (1977) reviewer considered Jaynes's hypothesis worthy and offer conditional support, arguing the notion deserves further study.[8][9]

The Origin of Consciousness was financially successful, and has been reprinted several times.

Originally published in 1976[10] it was nominated for the National Book Award in 1978. It has been translated into Italian, Spanish, German, French, and Persian.[citation needed] A new edition, with an afterword that addressed some criticisms and restated the main themes, was published in the US in 1990 and in the UK by Penguin Books in 1993,[11] re-issued in 2000.[12]

Philip K. Dick, Terrence McKenna, and David Bowie all cited the book as an influence. [13]

Jaynes's hypothesis remains controversial. The primary scientific criticism has been that the conclusions drawn by Jaynes had no basis in neuropsychiatric fact.[14]

According to Jaynes, language is a necessary, but not a sufficient condition for consciousness: Language existed thousands of years earlier, but consciousness could not have emerged without language.[15] The idea that language is a necessary component of subjective consciousness and more abstract forms of thinking has gained the support of proponents including Andy Clark, Daniel Dennett, William H. Calvin, Merlin Donald, John Limber, Howard Margolis, Peter Carruthers, and Jos Luis Bermdez.[16]

Williams (2010)[17] defended Jaynes against the criticism of Block (1981).[18][clarification needed][clarification needed]

Asaad & Shapiro (1987)[19] questioned why Jaynes's theory was left out of a discussion on auditory hallucinations. The author's (1987) published response was: ...Jaynes hypothesis makes for interesting reading and stimulates much thought in the receptive reader. It does not, however, adequately explain one of the central mysteries of madness: hallucination. (Moffic, 1987)[14] However Moffic's claim that there is no evidence for involvement of the right temporal lobe in auditory hallucination was incorrect, even at the time that he wrote it.[20][21] More recently, a number of studies have provided more evidence of involvement of the right hemisphere in auditory hallucinations. The new evidence for Jaynes's model of auditory hallucinations arising in the right temporal-parietal lobe and being transmitted to the left temporal-parietal lobe that these neuroimaging studies provide was specifically pointed out by Olin (1999)[22] and by Sher (2000).[23] For further discussion, see Marcel Kuijsten (2007).[24]

Brian J. McVeigh (2007) maintains that many of the most frequent criticisms of Jaynes' theory are either incorrect or reflect serious misunderstandings of Jaynes' theory, especially Jaynes' more precise definition of consciousness. Jaynes defines consciousness in the tradition of Locke and Descartes as "that which is introspectable". Jaynes draws a sharp distinction between consciousness ("introspectable mind-space") and other mental processes such as cognition, learning, sensation, and perception. McVeigh argues that this distinction is frequently not recognized by those offering critiques of Jaynes' theory.[25]

Richard Dawkins in The God Delusion (2006) wrote of The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral Mind:

It is one of those books that is either complete rubbish or a work of consummate genius; Nothing in between! Probably the former, but I'm hedging my bets.[26][pageneeded]

The philosopher Daniel Dennett suggested that Jaynes may have been wrong about some of his supporting arguments especially the importance he attached to hallucinations but that these things are not essential to his main thesis:[27]

If we are going to use this top-down approach, we are going to have to be bold. We are going to have to be speculative, but there is good and bad speculation, and this is not an unparalleled activity in science. ... Those scientists who have no taste for this sort of speculative enterprise will just have to stay in the trenches and do without it, while the rest of us risk embarrassing mistakes and have a lot of fun. Daniel Dennett[28]

Gregory Cochran, a physicist and adjunct professor of anthropology at the University of Utah, wrote:

"Genes affecting personality, reproductive strategies, cognition, are all able to change significantly over few-millennia time scales if the environment favors such change and this includes the new environments we have made for ourselves, things like new ways of making a living and new social structures. ... There is evidence that such change has occurred. ... On first reading, Breakdown seemed one of the craziest books ever written, but Jaynes may have been on to something."[29]

Author and historian of science Morris Berman writes: "[Jaynes's] description of this new consciousness is one of the best I have come across."[30]

Danish science writer Tor Nrretranders discusses Jaynes's theory favorably in his 1991 book.[31][vague]

James McGilchrist who published a similar idea, accepts Jayne's intention, but proposes that Jayne's hypothesis was the opposite of what happened:

I believe he [Jayne] got one important aspect of the story back to front. His contention that the phenomena he describes came about because of a breakdown of the 'bicameral mind' so that the two hemispheres, previously separate, now merged is the precise inverse of what happened.[32]:262

As an argument against Jaynes' proposed date of the transition from bicameralism to consciousness some critics have referred to the Epic of Gilgamesh.[citation needed] Early copies of the epic are many centuries older[33] than even the oldest passages of the Old Testament,[34] and yet it describes introspection and other mental processes that, according to Jaynes, were impossible for the bicameral mind.

Jaynes noted that the most complete version of the Gilgamesh epic dates to post-bicameral times (7thcenturyBCE), dismisses these instances of introspection as the result of rewriting and expansion by later conscious scribes, and points to differences between the more recent version of Gilgamesh and surviving fragments of earlier versions: "The most interesting comparison is in TabletX."[12]:252 His answer, however, does not deal with the generally accepted dating of the "Standard Version" of the Gilgamesh epic to the later 2ndmillenniumBCE, nor does it account for the introspection that so often taken as characteristic of the "Standard Version" being thoroughly rooted in the Old Babylonian and Sumerian versions, especially so as our understanding of the Old Babylonian poem improves.[33][34][35]

Julian Jaynes' study is mostly based on the writings and culture of the Mediterranean and Near-Eastern regions, although he occasionally also refers to ancient writings of India and China.[36][a]

Jaynes' proposal does not explain how such bicameralism could also have been near totally lost at the same time across the whole planet and in the entire human species. In particular the aborigine culture was completely separated from the rest of the world from 4000BCE1600CE and appears today to be historically unchanged, but also self-conscious.[citation needed]

Divination is also considerably older than that date and the early writings he claims show bicamerality: The oldest recorded Chinese Writing was on oracle bones, meaning that divination arose at the same time or even earlier than writing, in Chinese society.[37][not in citation given]

While he said ancient societies engaged in ancestor worship before this date, non-ancient societies also engaged in it after that date; very advanced societies like the Aztecs and Egyptians mummified and deified rulers (see Pyramids and the philosopher Nezahualcoyotl). The Aztecs and Incans did so all the way up to their enslavement by the Spanish.[citation needed]

It is now known[citation needed] that the sense of agency is closely connected with lateralization: The left parietal lobe is active when visualizing actions by the self, while the right parietal lobe is active for actions by others. Additionally, Wernicke's area processes the literal meaning of language, while the homologous region in the right hemisphere processes the intent of a speaker.

It has been found[citation needed] that people with damage to the right inferior parietal cortex experience alien hand syndrome, as do people who have had a corpus callosotomy. This reverses the relationship between the right and left hemispheres posited by Jaynes' proposed bicameralism: It is the left hemisphere that is responsible for speech and the right hemisphere that is responsible for self-awareness.

VS Ramachandran proposes a similar concept, referring to the left cortical hemisphere as an "apologist", and the right cortical hemisphere as a "revolutionary".[citation needed]

In his book Neuroreality, Bruce E. Morton, Professor Emeritus at the University of Hawaii, similarly proposed such a concept.[citation needed]

Psychiatrist Iain McGilchrist reviews scientific research into the role of the brain's hemispheres, and cultural evidence, in his book The Master and His Emissary.[32] Similar to Jaynes, McGilchrist proposes that since the time of Plato the left hemisphere of the brain (the "emissary" in the title) has increasingly taken over from the right hemisphere (the "master"), to our detriment. McGilchrist, while accepting Jayne's intention, felt that Jayne's hypothesis was "the precise inverse of what happened" and that rather than a shift from bicameralism there evolved a separation of the hemispheres to bicameralism.[32](See McGilchrist quotation, above.)

Michael Gazzaniga pioneered the split-brain experiments which led him to propose a similar theory called the left brain interpreter.

Neuroscientist Michael Persinger, who co-invented the God helmet in the 1980s, believes that his invention may induce mystical experiences by having the separate right hemisphere consciousness intrude into the awareness of the normally-dominant left hemisphere.[38]

The Julian Jaynes Society was founded by supporters of bicameralism in 1997, shortly after Jaynes' death. The society published a collection of essays on bicameralism in 2007, with contributors including psychological anthropologist Brian J. McVeigh, psychologists John Limber and Scott Greer, clinical psychologist John Hamilton, philosophers Jan Sleutels and David Stove, and sinologist Michael Carr (see shi personator). The book also contains an extensive biography of Julian Jaynes by historian of psychology William Woodward and June Tower, and a foreword by neuroscientist Michael Persinger.[40]

It's like you took a bottle of ink and you threw it at a wall. Smash! And all that ink spread. And in the middle, it's dense, isn't it? And as it gets out on the edge, the little droplets get finer and finer and make more complicated patterns, see? So in the same way, there was a big bang at the beginning of things and it spread. And you and I, sitting here in this room, as complicated human beings, are way, way out on the fringe of that bang. We are the complicated little patterns on the end of it. Very interesting. But so we define ourselves as being only that. If you think that you are only inside your skin, you define yourself as one very complicated little curlique, way out on the edge of that explosion. Way out in space, and way out in time. Billions of years ago, you were a big bang, but now you're a complicated human being. And then we cut ourselves off, and don't feel that we're still the big bang. But you are. Depends how you define yourself. You are actually--if this is the way things started, if there was a big bang in the beginning-- you're not something that's a result of the big bang. You're not something that is a sort of puppet on the end of the process. You are still the process. You are the big bang, the original force of the universe, coming on as whoever you are. When I meet you, I see not just what you define yourself as--Mr so-and- so, Ms so-and-so, Mrs so-and-so--I see every one of you as the primordial energy of the universe coming on at me in this particular way. I know I'm that, too. But we've learned to define ourselves as separate from it. Alan W. Watts

If the universe began in the past, when that happened it was Now. And it trails off like the wake of a ship from Now and just as the wake fades out, so does the past. Things arent explained by what happened in the past. Theyre explained by what happens Now-Alan Watts

Actions speak louder than words! How are you going to say that you are against violence and talk about, respect, compassion, equality, peace but then go ahead and consume violence and death! If you dont like senseless violence in this world, then do not practice it three times a day while eating breakfast, lunch and dinner. Talking about how we need to change the world is too easy, especially when youre not even willing to change what you eat for breakfast!

Going vegan is the most basic and fundamental change one can make to transform the way the world currently operates. Animal Agriculture is the leading cause of global warming, deforestation, most freshwater usage, droughts, world hunger, species extinction, ocean dead zones, water pollution and habitat destruction! If you could extend life, prevent illness, reduce pollution, conserve resources, save money, save animals, save the environment, be happy and healthy, all in one simple step, then why not take it?

Good people dont just talk about kindness. They practice it. They dont pray about love. They actually give it. You want to be part of the solution and take responsibility for what you are doing? Well, you can do more than just talk. If you want the world to get better, dont just talk about the change; be the change. Be vegan.

You have 0 remaining of 0 downloads. Downloads renew each subscription period.

You have purchased this class before, would you like to download it now?

This special series of classes works both independently and in conjunction with one another to tune up an area that is out of balance, or realign the entire system to achieve a state of perfect, resonant balance within the body. As a practitioner, you can choose to do just one class (each are about 20 minutes long) or do multiple classes depending on your time constraints and needs for a particular day.

Root Chakra: MuladharaThe root chakra encompasses our base and creates the foundation upon which we stand. When we can stand up for ourselves and be grounded in a safe and secure existence, we can walk proudly in our life. This mini-class creates the foundation for the first chakra to be balanced, rooted and grounded through strong standing poses.

Sacral Chakra: SvadisthanaThe sacral chakra is the seat of our emotions, creativity and relationships. By allowing our creativity and passion to have an outlet, this chakra flourishes. This mini-class utilizes the power of hip openers to create the space for abundance and creativity to arise.

Power Chakra: ManipuraThe power chakra illuminates our ego and self-identity. When we learn to use who we are to shine light on the greater good and more fully allow others to be themselves, then our ego has found its place in the world. This mini-class takes us through twisting postures to wring out the ego and give us the internal space to become comfortable with ourselves.

Heart Chakra: AnahataThe heart chakra is the seat of compassion, kindness and unconditional love. When this chakra is balanced, we are able to create lives that resonate with kindness and friendship toward others; in short, we become fun people to hang out with. Through backbends, we fully open the power embodied in the hearts chakra and emanate the power of love.

Throat Chakra: VishuddhaThe throat chakra is the center of all our communication. In this day and age, when communication happens through voice, email, text message and tweets, it is more important than ever to create clarity and compassion in our messages. Using the powerful benefits of shoulderstand, plow pose and various neck stretches, we help the throat open to its full potential.

Third Eye Chakra: AjnaThe third eye center is known as the command center, or seat of our highest self. It is with wisdom and intuition that we are able to perceive the world without boundaries or separateness. When we can find the sameness in all the things around us, then tension and judgement dissolves. This is a wonderfully compassionate way to live, and we cultivate this strength in this mini-class through breath work and some guided meditation.

Crown Chakra: SahasraraThe crown chakra represents our connection to a higher power. When this is stifled, we feel depressed, anxious, bored and alone. By enlivening this energetic center and reconnecting to source, we are infused with power, joy and a feeling that we are an integral part of our world. In this mini-class, we use guided meditation and deep relaxation to open this energetic center and feel rejuvenated.

Overview: This guide provides a comprehensive 7-step process to create a customized personal development plan to help you actualize more of your true potential.

______________

I leaped into the personal development world with a copy of Tony Robbins Personal Power program. You know, the one from those late night infomercials?

I was 18, and this audio program made a measurable difference in my outlook and behavior.

From that moment onward, I was hooked by personal development. I jumped into whatever interested me.

I hopped from seminar to seminar, from book to book. Investing every possible moment I had, I covered a lot of ground in my first five years.

Reflecting almost 25 years on my personal growth journey, I now see I was missing several vital ingredients essential for long-term, healthy development.

In this guide, I will share with you lessons learned and provide a roadmap for crafting a simple yet powerful Personal Development Plan.

When you dont have a vision, a plan, or a goal, where does your attention go?

For most people, attention goes to entertainment and distraction. Sight, sound, and motion captivate our brains.

Television shows, films, video games, and social media hook the primitive parts of our brain.

If youre an overachiever who defines yourself by external accomplishments and status, your attention likely gets fixated on more work, higher productivity, and making more money.

The primary question when creating a Personal Development Plan is: Where am I going to place my attention and awareness?

When entertainment, distraction, and workaholism consume our attention, something doesnt feel right within us. We may not identify it, but parts of us arent happy with this agenda.

We may not identify it, but parts of us arent happy with this agenda.

To have a full and meaningful life requires us to open to more dimensions of ourselves.

And a Personal Development Plan can help us do just that.

But most people dont know whats available. I wasnt aware of the optionswhen I started my journey. Youthful enthusiasm and naivete guided those early years.

Youthful enthusiasm and naivete guided those early years.

If you go to self-growth seminars or read books in this genre, you may only think within the confines of the illustrations these resources provide.

Before we jump in, heres a quick overview of the steps for creating your plan:

Step 1: Learn the Human Potential LandscapeStep 2: Dream and Create Your VisionStep 3: Select your Areas of FocusStep 4: Discover Your PracticesStep 5: Establish Personal Development GoalsStep 6: Set Your ScheduleStep 7: Monitor your progress

Step 1 is whats missing from most peoples approach to personal growth.

So well start our journey with a larger vision for human potential.

One thing I was missing from my personal development journey was a map of the terrain. How can you navigate through your development without a map?

Every good explorer has one. Such a map shines a much-needed light on the diverse areas of our potential.

A reliable map of human potential wasnt readily available in the early 90s.

Following her hugely successful career with BBC television as an interviewer and comedian, Ruby Wax turned her attention to the study of psychotherapy and neuroscience, graduating from Oxford University in 2013 with a Masters degree in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy. She is also an Alumna and Honorary Senior Fellow of Regents University Londons with an MA in Psychotherapy and Councelling, and a is Visiting Professor in the School of Mental Health Nursing at the University of Surrey as well as holding an Honorary Doctorate from the School of Psychology from The University of East London.

She is the author of 2 best-selling books Sane New World and A Mindfulness Guide for the Frazzled which combine neuroscience, mindfulness and comedy. Her one-woman shows Sane New World and Frazzled have toured both internationally and in Londons West End. She also founded Black Dog Tribe, a social networking site providing information and social support for people suffering with mental health issues. She presented her TedTalk at TedGlobal 2012 Whats So Funny about Mental Illness?, She speaks at Parliament and Downing Street to raise money for neuroscience research andworks tirelessly to break the stigma. She is an ambassador for MIND and SANE charities and is on the board of the Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families.

Ruby is currently launching her Frazzled Cafes in partnership with Marks and Spencers throughout the UK. Each Marks and Spencers will close their cafes for two hours for groups to meet regularly. These are not necessarily for people with Mental Health problems but for everyone who is frazzled, which is everyone. Based on the format of AA each group is run by a facilitator with a mental health background.

Her latest book How to Be Human will be published in January 2018. Heres Rubys description:

It took us 4 billion years to evolve to where we are now. No question, anyone reading this has won the Evolutionary Hunger Games, by the fact that youre on all 2s and not some fossil. This should make us all the happiest species alive most of us arent. Whats gone wrong?

Weve started treating ourselves like machines and less like humans. Were so used to upgrading things like our iPhones; as soon as the new one comes out, we dont think twice, we dump it. (Many people I know are now on iWife4 or iHusband8, the motto being, if its new, its better.)

We cant stop the future from arriving, no matter what drugs were on. But even if nearly every part of us becomes robotic, well still, fingers crossed, have our minds, which hopefully, well be able to use for things like compassion, rather than chasing whats better and if we can do that were on the yellow brick road to happiness.

I wrote this book with a little help from a monk, who explains how the mind works, and also gives some mindfulness exercises, and a neuroscientist who explains where everything that makes us us can be found in the brain. How to be Human is the only manual youll need to help you upgrade your mind as much as youve upgraded your iPhone.

In 2015 Ruby wax awarded an OBE for Services to Mental Health.

The theory of evolution is a naturalistic theory of the history of life on earth (this refers to the theory of evolution which employs methodological naturalism and is taught in schools and universities). Merriam-Webster's dictionary gives the following definition of evolution: "a theory that the various types of animals and plants have their origin in other preexisting types and that the distinguishable differences are due to modifications in successive generations..."[2] Currently, there are several theories of evolution.

Since World War II a majority of the most prominent and vocal defenders of the evolutionary position which employs methodological naturalism have been atheists and agnostics.[3] In 2007, "Discovery Institute's Center for Science and Culture...announced that over 700 scientists from around the world have now signed a statement expressing their skepticism about the contemporary theory of Darwinian evolution."[4]

In 2011, the results of a study was published indicating that most United States high school biology teachers are reluctant to endorse the theory of evolution in class. [5] In addition, in 2011, eight anti-evolution bills were introduced into state legislatures within the United States encouraging students to employ critical thinking skills when examining the evolutionary paradigm. In 2009, there were seven states which required critical analysis skills be employed when examining evolutionary material within schools.[6]

A 2005 poll by the Louis Finkelstein Institute for Social and Religious Research found that 60% of American medical doctors reject Darwinism, stating that they do not believe man evolved through natural processes alone.[7] Thirty-eight percent of the American medical doctors polled agreed with the statement that "Humans evolved naturally with no supernatural involvement." [8] The study also reported that 1/3 of all medical doctors favor the theory of intelligent design over evolution.[9] In 2010, the Gallup organization reported that 40% of Americans believe in young earth creationism.[10] In January 2006, the BBC reported concerning Britain:

Furthermore, more than 40% of those questioned believe that creationism or intelligent design (ID) should be taught in school science lessons.[11]

Picture above was taken at Johns Hopkins University

Johns Hopkins University Press reported in 2014: "Over the past forty years, creationism has spread swiftly among European Catholics, Protestants, Jews, Hindus, and Muslims, even as anti-creationists sought to smother its flames."[13] In addition, China has the world's largest atheist population and the rapid growth of biblical creationism/Evangelical Christianity in China may have a significant impact on the number of individuals in the world who believe in evolution and also on global atheism (see: China and biblical creationism and Asian atheism).

The theory of evolution posits a process of transformation from simple life forms to more complex life forms, which has never been observed or duplicated in a laboratory.[14] Although not a creation scientist, Swedish geneticist Dr. Nils Heribert-Nilsson, Professor of Botany at the University of Lund in Sweden and a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, stated: "My attempts to demonstrate Evolution by an experiment carried on for more than 40 years have completely failed. At least, I should hardly be accused of having started from a preconceived antievolutionary standpoint."[15]

The fossil record is often used as evidence in the creation versus evolution controversy. The fossil record does not support the theory of evolution and is one of the flaws in the theory of evolution.[16] In 1981, there were at least a hundred million fossils that were catalogued and identified in the world's museums.[17] Despite the large number of fossils available to scientists in 1981, evolutionist Mark Ridley, who currently serves as a professor of zoology at Oxford University, was forced to confess: "In any case, no real evolutionist, whether gradualist or punctuationist, uses the fossil record as evidence in favour of the theory of evolution as opposed to special creation."[18]

In addition to the evolutionary position lacking evidential support and being counterevidential, the great intellectuals in history such as Archimedes, Aristotle, St. Augustine, Francis Bacon, Isaac Newton, and Lord Kelvin did not propose an evolutionary process for a species to transform into a more complex version. Even after the theory of evolution was proposed and promoted heavily in England and Germany, most leading scientists were against the theory of evolution.[19]

The theory of evolution was published by naturalist Charles Darwin in his book On The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or The Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life, in 1859. In a letter to Asa Gray, Darwin confided: "...I am quite conscious that my speculations run quite beyond the bounds of true science."[20]Prior to publishing the book, Darwin wrote in his private notebooks that he was a materialist, which is a type of atheist.[21] Darwin was a weak atheist/agnostic (see: religious views of Charles Darwin) .[22] Charles Darwins casual mentioning of a creator in earlier editions of The Origin of Species appears to have been a merely a ploy to downplay the implications of his materialistic theory.[23] The amount of credit Darwin actually deserves for the theory is disputed. [24] Darwin's theory attempted to explain the origin of the various kinds of plants and animals via the process of natural selection or "survival of the fittest".

The basic principle behind natural selection is that in the struggle for life some organisms in a given population will be better suited to their particular environment and thus have a reproductive advantage which increases the representation of their particular traits over time. Many years before Charles Darwin, there were several other individuals who published articles on the topic of natural selection.[25]

Darwin did not first propose in his book Origin of Species that man had descended from non-human ancestors. Darwin's theory of evolution incorporated that later in Darwin's book entitled Descent of Man.

As far as the history of the theory of evolution, although Darwin is well known when it comes to the early advocacy of the evolutionary position in the Western world, evolutionary ideas were taught by the ancient Greeks as early as the 7th century B.C.[26] The concept of naturalistic evolution differs from the concept of theistic evolution in that it states God does not guide the posited process of macroevolution.[27]

In 2012, the science news website Livescience.com published a news article entitled Belief in Evolution Boils Down to a Gut Feeling which indicated that research suggests that gut feelings trumped facts when it comes to evolutionists believing in evolution.[28] In January of 2012, the Journal of Research in Science Teaching published a study indicating that evolutionary belief is significantly based on gut feelings.[29][30] The January 20, 2012 article entitled Belief in Evolution Boils Down to a Gut Feeling published by the website Live Science wrote of the research: "They found that intuition had a significant impact on what the students accepted, no matter how much they knew and regardless of their religious beliefs."[31]

In response to evolutionary indoctrination and the uncritical acceptance of evolution by many evolutionists, the scientists at the organization Creation Ministries International created a Question evolution! campaign which poses 15 questions for evolutionists. In addition, leading creationist organizations have created lists of poor arguments that evolutionists should not use.[32] See also: Causes of evolutionary belief

See also: Theories of evolution

Evolutionist Theodosius Dobzhansky wrote concerning the theory of evolution: "The process of mutation is the only known source of the new materials of genetic variability, and hence of evolution."[33] Concerning various theories of evolution, most evolutionists believe that the processes of mutation, genetic drift and natural selection created every species of life that we see on earth today after life first came about on earth although there is little consensus on how this process is allegedly to have occurred.[34]

Pierre-Paul Grass, who served as Chair of evolutionary biology at Sorbonne University for thirty years and was ex-president of the French Academy of Sciences, stated: "Some contemporary biologists, as soon as they observe a mutation, talk about evolution. They are implicitly supporting the following syllogism: mutations are the only evolutionary variations, all living beings undergo mutations, therefore all living beings evolve....No matter how numerous they may be, mutations do not produce any kind of evolution." Grass pointed out that bacteria which are the subject of study of many geneticists and molecular biologists are organisms which produce the most mutants.[35] Grasse then points that bacteria are considered to have "stabilized".[36] Grass regards the "unceasing mutations" to be "merely hereditary fluctuations around a median position; a swing to the right, a swing to the left, but no final evolutionary effect."[37]

In addition, Harvard biologist Ernst Mayr wrote: "It must be admitted, however, that it is a considerable strain on ones credulity to assume that finely balanced systems such as certain sense organs (the eye of vertebrates, or the birds feather) could be improved by random mutations."[38]

Creation scientists believe that mutations, natural selection, and genetic drift would not cause macroevolution.[39] Furthermore, creation scientists assert that the life sciences as a whole support the creation model and do not support the theory of evolution.[40] Homology involves the theory that macroevolutionary relationships can be demonstrated by the similarity in the anatomy and physiology of different organisms.[41] An example of a homology argument is that DNA similarities between human and other living organisms is evidence for the theory of evolution.[42] Creation scientists provide sound reasons why the homology argument is not a valid argument. Both evolutionary scientists and young earth creation scientists believe that speciation occurs, however, young earth creation scientists state that speciation generally occurs at a much faster rate than evolutionist believe is the case.[43]

Critics of the theory of evolution state that many of today's proponents of the evolutionary position have diluted the meaning of the term "evolution" to the point where it defined as or the definition includes change over time in the gene pool of a population over time through such processes as mutation, natural selection, and genetic drift.[44] Dr. Jonathan Sarfati of Creation Ministries International declares concerning the diluted definition of the word "evolution":

See also: Atheism and equivocation

Dr. Jonathan Sarfati wrote:

All (sexually reproducing) organisms contain their genetic information in paired form. Each offspring inherits half its genetic information from its mother, and half from its father. So there are two genes at a given position (locus, plural loci) coding for a particular characteristic. An organism can be heterozygous at a given locus, meaning it carries different forms (alleles) of this gene... So there is no problem for creationists explaining that the original created kinds could each give rise to many different varieties. In fact, the original created kinds would have had much more heterozygosity than their modern, more specialized descendants. No wonder Ayala pointed out that most of the variation in populations arises from reshuffling of previously existing genes, not from mutations. Many varieties can arise simply by two previously hidden recessive alleles coming together. However, Ayala believes the genetic information came ultimately from mutations, not creation. His belief is contrary to information theory, as shown in chapter 9 on Design.[47]

Dr. Don Batten of Creation Ministries International has pointed out that prominent evolutionists, such as PZ Myers and Nick Matzke, have indicated that a naturalistic postulation of the origin of life (often called abiogenesis), is part of the evolutionary model.[48] This poses a very serious problem for the evolutionary position as the evidence clearly points life being a product of design and not through naturalistic processes.[49]

The genetic entropy theory by Cornell University Professor Dr. John Sanford on eroding genomes of all living organisms due to mutations inherited from one generation to the next is declared to be one of the major challenges to evolutionary theory. The central part of Sanfords argument is that mutations, represented by spelling mistakes in DNA, are accumulating so quickly in some creatures (and particularly in people) that natural selection cannot stop the functional degradation of the genome, let alone drive an evolutionary process that could lead for example, from apes into people.[50]

Sanford's book Genetic Entropy and the Mystery of the Genome explains why human DNA is inexorably deteriorating at an alarming rate, thus cannot be millions of years old.[51]

The evolutionist Michael Lynch wrote in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America in a December 3, 2009 article entitled: Rate, molecular spectrum, and consequences of human mutation (taken from the abstract):

Creation scientists and intelligent design advocates point out that the genetic code (DNA code), genetic programs, and biological information argue for an intelligent cause in regards the origins question and assert it is one of the many problems of the theory of evolution.[54][55]

Dr. Walt Brown states the genetic material that controls the biological processes of life is coded information and that human experience tells us that codes are created only by the result of intelligence and not merely by processes of nature.[54] Dr. Brown also asserts that the "information stored in the genetic material of all life is a complex program. Therefore, it appears that an unfathomable intelligence created these genetic programs."[54]

To support his view regarding the divine origin of genetic programs Dr. Walt Brown cites the work of David Abel and Professor Jack Trevors who wrote the following:

In the peer reviewed biology journal Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington Dr. Stephen Meyer argues that no current materialistic theory of evolution can account for the origin of the information necessary to build novel animal forms and proposed an intelligent cause as the best explanation for the origin of biological information and the higher taxa.[57] The editor of the Proceedings of the Biological Society of Washington, Dr. Richard Sternberg, came under intense scrutiny and persecution for the aforementioned article published by Dr. Meyer.

See also: Theory of evolution and little consensus and Theories of evolution

There is little scientific consensus on how macroevolution is said to have happened and the claimed mechanisms of evolutionary change, as can be seen in the following quotes:

Pierre-Paul Grass, who served as Chair of Evolution at Sorbonne University for thirty years and was ex-president of the French Academy of Sciences, stated the following:

Today, our duty is to destroy the myth of evolution, considered as a simple, understood, and explained phenomenon which keeps rapidly unfolding before us. Biologists must be encouraged to think about the weaknesses of the interpretations and extrapolations that theoreticians put forward or lay down as established truths. The deceit is sometimes unconscious, but not always, since some people, owing to their sectarianism, purposely overlook reality and refuse to acknowledge the inadequacies and the falsity of their beliefs. - Pierre-Paul Grass - Evolution of Living Organisms (1977), pages 6 and 8[61]

See: Modern evolutionary synthesis and Theories of evolution

A notable case of a scientists using fraudulent material to promote the theory of evolution was the work of German scientist and atheist Ernst Haeckel. Noted evolutionist and Stephen Gould, who held a agnostic worldview[62] and promoted the notion of non-overlapping magesteria, wrote the following regarding Ernst Haeckel's work in a March 2000 issue of Natural History:

An irony of history is that the March 9, 1907 edition of the NY Times refers to Ernst Haeckel as the "celebrated Darwinian and founder of the Association for the Propagation of Ethical Atheism."[64]

Stephen Gould continues by quoting Michael Richardson of the St. Georges Hospital Medical School in London, who stated: "I know of at least fifty recent biology texts which use the drawings uncritically".[63]

As alluded to earlier, today there are over one hundred million identified and cataloged fossils in the world's museums.[65] If the evolutionary position was valid, then there should be "transitional forms" in the fossil record reflecting the intermediate life forms. Another term for these "transitional forms" is "missing links".

Charles Darwin admitted that his theory required the existence of "transitional forms." Darwin wrote: "So that the number of intermediate and transitional links, between all living and extinct species, must have been inconceivably great. But assuredly, if this theory be true, such have lived upon the earth."[67] However, Darwin wrote: "Why then is not every geological formation and every strata full of such intermediate links? Geology assuredly does not reveal any such finely-graduated organic chain; and this perhaps, is the most obvious and serious objection which can be urged against my theory."[68] Darwin thought the lack of transitional links in his time was because "only a small portion of the surface of the earth has been geologically explored and no part with sufficient care...".[69] As Charles Darwin grew older he became increasingly concerned about the lack of evidence for the theory of evolution in terms of the existence of transitional forms. Darwin wrote, "When we descend to details, we cannot prove that a single species has changed; nor can we prove that the supposed changes are beneficial, which is the groundwork of the theory.[70]

Scientist Dr. Michael Denton wrote regarding the fossil record:

Creationists assert that evolutionists have had over 140 years to find a transitional fossil and nothing approaching a conclusive transitional form has ever been found and that only a handful of highly doubtful examples of transitional fossils exist.[72] Distinguished anthropologist Sir Edmund R. Leach declared, "Missing links in the sequence of fossil evidence were a worry to Darwin. He felt sure they would eventually turn up, but they are still missing and seem likely to remain so."[73]

David B. Kitts of the School of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Oklahoma wrote that "Evolution requires intermediate forms between species and paleontology does not provide them".[74]

David Raup, who was the curator of geology at the museum holding the world's largest fossil collection, the Field Museum of Natural History in Chicago, observed:

One of the most famous proponents of the theory of evolution was the late Harvard paleontologist Stephen Jay Gould. But Gould admitted:

For more information please see:

Creationists can cite quotations which assert that no solid fossil evidence for the theory of evolution position exists:

For more fossil record quotes please see: Fossil record quotes and Additional fossil record quotes

For more information please see: Paleoanthropology and Human evolution

Paleoanthropology is an interdisciplinary branch of anthropology that concerns itself with the origins of early humans and it examines and evaluates items such as fossils and artifacts.[81] Dr. David Pilbeam is a paleoanthropologist who received his Ph.D. at Yale University and Dr. Pilbeam is presently Professor of Social Sciences at Harvard University and Curator of Paleontology at the Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology. In addition, Dr. Pilbeam served as an advisor for the Kenya government regarding the creation of an international institute for the study of human origins.[82]

Dr. Pilbeam wrote a review of Richard Leakey's book Origins in the journal American Scientist:

Dr. Pilbeam wrote the following regarding the theory of evolution and paleoanthropology:

Evolutionist and Harvard professor Richard Lewontin wrote in 1995 that "Despite the excited and optimistic claims that have been made by some paleontologists, no fossil hominid species can be established as our direct ancestor...."[84] In the September 2005 issue of National Geographic, Joel Achenbach asserted that human evolution is a "fact" but he also candidly admitted that the field of paleoanthropology "has again become a rather glorious mess."[85][86] In the same National Geographic article Harvard paleoanthropologist Dan Lieberman states, "We're not doing a very good job of being honest about what we don't know...".[86]

Concerning pictures of the supposed ancestors of man featured in science journals and the news media Boyce Rensberger wrote in the journal Science the following regarding their highly speculative nature:

Creation scientists concur with Dr. Pilbeam regarding the speculative nature of the field of paleoanthropology and assert there is no compelling evidence in the field of paleoanthropology for the various theories of human evolution.[89]

In 2011, Dr. Grady S. McMurtry declared:

It is acknowledged that the Laws of Genetics are conservative, they are not creative. Genetics only copies or rearranges the previously existing information and passes it on to the next generation. When copying information, you have only two choices; you can only copy it perfectly or imperfectly, you cannot copy something more perfectly. Mutations do not build one upon another beneficially. Mutations do not create new organs; they only modify existing organs and structures. Mutations overwhelmingly lose information; they do not gain it; therefore, mutations cause changes which are contrary of evolutionary philosophy.

As a follow on, the addition of excess undirected energy will destroy the previously existing system. Indeed, you will never get an increase in the specifications on the DNA to create new organs without the input from a greater intelligence.

Mutations affect and are affected by many genes and other intergenic information acting in combination with one another. The addition of the accidental duplication of previously existing information is detrimental to any organism.

Mutations do produce microevolution, however, this term is far better understood as merely lateral adaptation, which is only variation within a kind, a mathematical shifting of gene frequency within a gene pool. The shifting of gene frequencies and a loss of information cannot produce macroevolution.

As Dr. Roger Lewin commented after the 1980 University of Chicago conference entitled Macroevolution:

The central question of the Chicago conference was whether the mechanisms underlying microevolution can be extrapolated to explain the phenomena of macroevolution. At the risk of doing violence to the positions of some of the people at the meeting, the answer can be given as a clear, No. [Emphasis added]

Dr. Roger Lewin, Evolution Theory under Fire, Science. Vol. 210, 21 November 1980. p. 883-887.[90]

In 1988, the prominent Harvard University biologist Ernst Mayr wrote in his essay Does Microevolution Explain Macroevolution?:

...In this respect, indeed, macroevolution as a field of study is completely decoupled from microevolution.[91]

Creation Ministries International has a great wealth of information on why the second law of thermodynamics is incompatible with the evolutionary paradigm.

Some of their key resources on this matter are:

See also: Theories of evolution

Because the fossil record is characterized by the abrupt appearance of species and stasis in the fossil record the theory of punctuated equilibrium was developed and its chief proponents were Stephen Gould, Niles Eldridge, and Steven Stanley. According to the American Museum of Natural History the theory of Punctuated Equilibrium "asserts that evolution occurs in dramatic spurts interspersed with long periods of stasis".[92] Because Stephen Gould was the leading proponent of the theory of punctuated equilibrium much of the criticism of the theory has been directed towards Gould.[93][94] The development of a new evolutionary school of thought occurring due to the fossil record not supporting the evolutionary position was not unprecedented. In 1930, Austin H. Clark, an American evolutionary zoologist who wrote 630 articles and books in six languages, came up with an evolutionary hypothesis called zoogenesis which postulated that each of the major types of life forms evolved separately and independently from all the others.[95] Prior to publishing his work entitled The New Evolution: Zoogenesis, Clark wrote in a journal article published in the Quarterly Review of Biology that "so far as concerns the major groups of animals, the creationists seem to have the better of the argument. There is not the slightest evidence that any one of the major groups arose from any other."[96]

In 1995, there was an essay in the New York Review of Books by the late John Maynard Smith, a noted evolutionary biologist who was considered the dean of British neo-Darwinists, and Smith wrote the following regarding Gould's work in respect to the theory of evolution:

Noted journalist and author Robert Wright , wrote in 1996 that, among top-flight evolutionary biologists, Gould is considered a pestnot just a lightweight, but an actively muddled man who has warped the public's understanding of Darwinism.[99][100]

Creation scientist Dr. Jonathan Sarfati wrote regarding the implausibility of the theory of punctuated equilibrium and the implausibility of the idea of gradual evolution the following:

Individuals who are against the evolutionary position assert that evolutionary scientists employ extremely implausible "just so stories" to support their position and have done this since at least the time of Charles Darwin.[103][104]

A well known example of a "just so story" is when Darwin, in his Origin of the Species, wrote a chapter entitled "Difficulties on Theory" in which he stated:

Even the prominent evolutionist and geneticist Professor Richard Lewontin admitted the following:

Dr. Sarfati wrote regarding the theory of evolution the following:

Opponents to the theory of evolution commonly point to the following in nature as being implausibly created through evolutionary processes:

Lastly, biochemist Michael Behe wrote the following:

Phillip E. Johnson cites Francis Crick in order to illustrate the fact that the biological world has the strong appearance of being designed:

Stephen C. Meyer offers the following statement regarding the design of the biological world:

The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy states regarding a candid admission of Charles Darwin:

In the course of that conversation I said to Mr. Darwin, with reference to some of his own remarkable works on the Fertilisation of Orchids, and upon The Earthworms, and various other observations he made of the wonderful contrivances for certain purposes in natureI said it was impossible to look at these without seeing that they were the effect and the expression of Mind. I shall never forget Mr. Darwin's answer. He looked at me very hard and said, Well, that often comes over me with overwhelming force; but at other times, and he shook his head vaguely, adding, it seems to go away.(Argyll 1885, 244][126]

Research and historical data indicate that a significant portion of atheists/agnostics often see the their lives and the world as being the product of purposeful design (see: Atheism and purpose).[127]

See: Argument from beauty

Advocates of the theory of evolution have often claimed that those who oppose the theory of evolution don't publish their opposition to the theory of evolution in the appropriate scientific literature (creationist scientists have peer reviewed journals which favor the creationist position).[128][129][130] Recently, there has been articles which were favorable to the intelligent design position in scientific journals which traditionally have favored the theory of evolution.[131]

Karl Popper, a leading philosopher of science and originator of the falsifiability as a criterion of demarcation of science from nonscience,[132] stated that Darwinism is "not a testable scientific theory, but a metaphysical research programme."[133] Leading Darwinist and philosopher of science, Michael Ruse declared the concerning Popper's statement and the actions he took after making that statement: "Since making this claim, Popper himself has modified his position somewhat; but, disclaimers aside, I suspect that even now he does not really believe that Darwinism in its modern form is genuinely falsifiable."[134]

The issue of the falsifiability of the evolutionary position is very important issue and although offering a poor cure to the problem that Karl Popper described, committed evolutionists Louis Charles Birch & Paul R. Ehrlich stated in the journal Nature:

The Swedish cytogeneticist, Antonio Lima-De-Faria, who has been knightedby the king of Sweden for his scientific achievements, noted that "there has never been a theory of evolution".[136][137]

See also: Suppression of alternatives to evolution and Atheism and the suppression of science

Many of the leaders of the atheist movement, such as the evolutionist and the new atheist Richard Dawkins, argue for atheism and evolution with a religious fervor (See also: Atheism and evolution).

Daniel Smartt has identified seven dimensions which make up religion: narrative, experiential, social, ethical, doctrinal, ritual and material. It is not necessary in Smartt's model for every one of these to be present in order for something to be a religion.[138]. However, it can be argued that all seven are present in the case of atheism.[139][140] Please see: Atheism: A religionand Atheism and Atheism is a religion.

See also: Atheism is a religion and Atheism and evolution

Atheism is a religion and naturalistic notions concerning origins are religious in nature and both have legal implications as far as evolution being taught in public schools.[142][143][144]

Rodney Collin | Gurdjieff Becoming Conscious

Posted: May 27, 2018 at 12:42 pm

without comments

Rodney Collin (26 April 19093 May 1956) was a writer and thinker connected with the Fourth Way tradition, taught to him by his beloved teacher and mentor, the late P.D. Ouspensky. Before finding the Work, Collin grew up in Brighton, England and attended the London School of Economics. He worked for the British Census Office and wrote for various other publications. The scope of his thoughts and understanding was monumental and synthetic. He arrived at a picture of the sequence of civilizations within world history that included both technological and moral development in humankind. His unique understandings of time and interpretations of ancient mythology and art are also noteworthy. Mr. Collin did much to materialize the aim of his teacher to integrate modern science with ancient wisdom, a process he correlated with the difference and relationship between laws and facts or deductive and inductive reasoning. Rodney Collin passed away in Cuzco, Peru where he and some students had traveled to work on publishing, theatre, and establishing a school on a continent that they believed would be the birthplace of a new spiritual civilization. His legacy continues in his classic and intellectually generous books The Theory of Celestial Influence, The Theory of Eternal Life, and The Theory of Conscious Harmony, published posthumously from the authors notes and letters.

Mr. Collin shared the practical and utilitarian spirit of his instructors in the Fourth Way. Although a brilliant thinker and adept in areas of theory and philosophy, he faithfully connected each aspect of information presented, whether in science, mathematics, etc., with work on oneself. A significant contribution in this connection made by Rodney Collin to the Fourth Way canon was the idea of the triad of self-remembering. In the teaching given by Gudjieff there were two universal laws: three and seven. Each phenomenon, in order to exist, must abide by these two laws. In the case of the law of three, this means that everything in the universe must consist of at least three forces: active, passive, and neutral. Because the state of self-remembering, which is the core practice of this teaching, exists as a definite and measurable psychological condition, it must similarly consist of three parts, although these had not subsequently been formulated. Collin determined that if self-remembering was defined by divided attention, keeping a ratio of ones attention between oneself and the environment, there must be a third force overseeing these two; this he called God and symbolized by the sun. He likened this to the Holy Trinity, as he delicately and articulately connected many ideas from the system of the Work, along with Dr. Nicoll, to Judeo Christian teaching, catalyzed by the particular religious tradition of the West and by Mr. Gurdjieffs auxiliary definition of the Fourth Way as esoteric Christianity.

A symbol introduced by Gurdjieff to the modern West called the Enneagram or nine pointed star (ennea=nine, gramma=written) arranges the digits 1 -10 along a circle while indicating the inner relationships and progressions among these numbers using shapes that represent the laws of three and seven. The law of three states that each event is a combination of three different forces and the law of seven or law of octaves determines the progression of each event in time. The law of seven contains the idea that all phenomena vibrate internally with a certain music that can ascend or descend with exact knowledge of chords that produce harmony. Plato also mentioned this musical idea in reference to the planets and also to the human soul. It is likely that the musical scale itself was originally a formulaic representation of observed planetary movement.Gurdjieff claimed that a deep understanding of this figure would unlock the secrets of the universe and that all knowledge could be stored along its lines and points. Rodney Collin, as Ouspensky, used the enneagram to plot and explain numerous phenomena in nature such as growth in man, the development of human civilization, planetary and solar rotations, and the essence of time itself. He believed that the connections revealed by the internal depths of the numerical relationships on this symbol accounted for and could be used to logistical gaps and processes hitherto deemed mysterious by modern scientific understanding. Essentially, Collin attempted to illustrate the various invisible chords linking events in time and space that either appear to be disparate or conversely seem strangely connected. In this way, he provided a manner of understanding relativity or the view of things in the world from a higher or fourth dimensional perspective.

Additionally, Collin anticipated trends in using logarithmic or exponential calculation to understand speeds in development of organic and inorganic processes and to predict their outcome. He diligently plotted the stages of physical and cognitive growth in humans along a logarithmic scale and sought to alter natural intuition about the linearity of ones lifetime. Processes begun with great speed gradually become slower and slower and are gradually replaced by evolutionary emphasis upon subtler and more intelligent functions. Each step or stage is built upon the last and is dependant upon it successful completion and release of force or energy. Retardations or arrestments in lower functioning due to trauma or insufficient nourishment will cancel possibilities in higher functioning like a damaged seed that cannot bear fruit or an intellect that is too noisy or contradicted to perceive stillness or acquire peace. He arranged the relationships between these separate time scales upon a three dimensional figure consisting of two infinity symbols linked at their midpoints. Each circle represented the complete time of its antecedent contained within one unit of its own progression. Once the passage from one cycle to the next was accomplished, activity in the previous circle was locked and fixed like the form of water when crystallized into ice at the exact temperature where liquid becomes solid.

For the purpose of achieving a meaningful synthetic link with scientific nomenclature Collin assigned these various time scales the terms mineral, cellular, molecular, electronic by virtue of their speed and length of lifetime. Physical processes in man he corresponded with mineral and cellular growth whereas cognitive and spiritual unfolding with that of the molecular and electronic worlds. In a mood of scientific and religious valency that characterizes Collins writings, an analogy between these different material distinctions and the judgement of the soul after death and its journey into the realms of paradise, heaven, and hell was made. As microcosmic man, we technically have access to all these places and levels of density within ourselves and Mr. Collin, as Mr. Ouspensky, always stressed the value of practical methods of developing consciousness in the more rarefied reaches of our internal atmosphere and ecosystem.

Derived from Ouspenskys six dimensional model of the universe and the laws of the Ray of Creation, Collin describes six fundamental processes contained within each complete cosmos. In specific relation to our particular situation as humans, he organizes each process as a different arrangement of the sun, planets, and earth, or life, form, and matter. Mr. Ouspensky, at the end of his life began to explain these six kinds of activity into which every action can be classified, but Collin carried this metaphor much further, looking in detail about what each process means and giving many nuanced examples.

Collin, inspired by medieval alchemy and medicine and also the work of Dr. Berman, linked each gland in the human endocrine system with the influence of a particular planet. By assigning dominant centers of gravity of different people in distinct glandular manefestations, he arrived at six central planetary types and variable subdivisions thereof. This teaching can be quite useful in the task oriented group dynamics that characterize the Fourth Way schools and was developed even more completely in Mr. Burtons teaching.

Schools of the fourth way have existed and exist, just as schools of the three traditional ways existed and exist. But they are much more difficult to detect, because unlike the others they cannot be recognized by any one practice, one method, one task, or one name. They are always inventing new methods, new practices, suitable to the time and conditions in which they exist, and when they have achieved one task which was set them they pass on to another, often changing their name and whole appearance in the process.

Schools of the fourth way were undoubtedly behind the designing and construction of the great Gothic cathedrals, though they had no special name and adapted themselves to the religious organization of the time. For a time the Cluniacs sheltered them, for a time the Freemasons. In the seventeenth century, similar schools were responsible for much of the new scientific and medical research, sometimes under one name and sometimes under another. In the eighteenth century again, fourth way schools borrowed many of the discoveries of Greek and Egyptian archeology to clothe their ideas and their organization, while some of their leaders in order to penetrate the luxury-loving and sophisticated circles where they had work to do might even appear in the guise of fashionable magicians or mesmerists.

In the fourth way, respect for sex and a positive attitude towards it are fundamentally necessary. Ouspensky insisted that nothing negative, either in thought or emotion, should be allowed to touch it; that all higher development began with sexual normality.

In the Fourth Way people have to be disillusioned at home, to go out bravely into the world to find truth, to be illumined there, and then bring light home again.

No one who has really begun to work on the Fourth Way can leave it. They may stop on the way for a short or long time, but they cant leave it. Because it is the most complete truth. And our training in the Fourth Way enables us to go straight to the deepest side of religion. The Fourth Way is the way of harmonising all sides of life, reconciling all truths. If it shows us how to bring conscious understanding to psychology, science, art and all the problems of practical and personal life, does it not show us how to come to religion, which is the highest aspiration of the human mind?

Miracle of Names The Wonder of Numbers

Know thyself

Our self-realization and ultimate wisdom are gained through our actions and our contributions. Like the flower beginning in the seed, it can only become self-realized through successive stages of growth culminating in the bloom. We are no different! In the difference that distinguishes us from one another lieour inherent talents. Only in the fullness, expression and refinement of those talents do wegrowto discover ourselves andthe wisdom concerning life. There are no shortcuts!

Enlightenment first and then meditation. In the expession of the things we are born to, and love to do, we discover our individuality. Then at the end of the day we find repose and meditation;it is a natural consequence of wisdom, Therefore, Know thyself.

Of a1000 people who would take a course inhow to make a million dollars in real-estate, less than 1 percent will succeed. The truly successful person doesnt take courses; they simply succeed by the action of theirinherent confidence and common sense. Its all in the name!

You are spirit, and spiritmoves in an opposing direction to the mass-consciousness.If you would become spiritual you must first identify that part of you which is separate from this mass-consciousness. Your spiritual path opens to you when you see no separation between your outward journey and the divine plan within yourself, as revealed through your name.

The knowledge of this profound principle is demonstrable and factual! Why one person succeeds and another fails in their endeavours is clearly understood. We have to go no further than studyinghow the structure of mind is created through mathematics, language and your name.

Everything you have become is in response to the structure of your mind created through your name. Whether you are strong or weak, social or non-social, sensitive or insensitive, talkative or shy, generous or miserly, deep or shallow, it is all revealed through your name.

The name determines whether your expression is mainly positive or negative, i.e, sensitive or introverted, solitary or unsociable, express yourself fluidly or talk too much, quiet or moody, orderly or just plain fussy. The extremes within the character are due to an imbalance within the qualities of personality created through the name.

Your mind contains within itself the potential to express and experience life on an infinite level, but only if you understand how a mind is first constructed through the letters of your name. Like music which is an arrangement of tones taken from an octave of sound (you can imagine if you only had 3 tones),so consciousness through language is made up of 9 tones or qualities taken from the mathematical arrangement or order of letters.

We can manipulate or arrange musical tones and produce an almost infinite number of variations and responses in the human emotions. Music can bring about depression, happiness, melancholy, sadness and other feelings. So it is with the forces or qualities of consciousness as they express through language or a name, the letters can be arranged to create a mind that is capable of adapting to all of life or only a portion of it. Without knowing the harmonic or mathematical principle, as it relates to the letters of the name, we can tragically and unconsciously limit the potential expression of a childs life.

This is a profound wisdom quite easily demonstrated through an analysis of your life. If you choose to have an analysis it will be tempered with consideration to your feelings and sensitivities. My purpose on this level is only to demonstrate the truth and logic of this principle. Even so, you will be amazed at what you have never known about yourself. My intention is only to encourage you to study the work, and so to prove it to yourself.

Sincerely,Clayne Conings
