Hey DECA Ontario! My name is Isabella Chiu and I #39;m one of your Co-Event Coordinators for 2012-2013. I #39;m currently in grade 12 at the University of Toronto Schools, where I am part of the curling team, Chamber Strings Ensemble and the House system (just like at Hogwarts). Outside of school, I volunteer at a retirement home and also work part time at a juice bar. Since joining DECA in grade 9, I have learned so much. I #39;ve done more than just study and compete -- I #39;ve met truly intriguing and inspiring people from around the world and I #39;ve developed skills that have helped me in countless ways. By making DECA more than just a competition, I #39;ve had some of the best weeks of my life and I hope you will too. I can #39;t wait for DECA 2012-2013! Diana Evans Vance Retirement Celebration - Intro Video
Robert and Kaela Vance, along with the help of countless other individuals, hosted a retirement celebration for Diana Evans Vance, Robert #39;s mother, in recognition of her 37 years of Arts Education in Hilliard City Schools. The celebration featured recent and former students, parents of past and present students, current and former colleagues, friends, and family - from all over the United States. The celebration was hosted as a complete surprise to Diana on June 3, 2012 at Hilliard Bradley High School, where Diana #39;s son, Robert, is following in her footsteps as the school #39;s Technical Director. The event included a video presentation, performances by past and present students, several speakers - including a close friend of Diana #39;s, Gloria McIntyre from Educational Theatre Association, who also presented her with a recognition from the organization - and plenty of food and socializing. However, I do so from a very rigorously managed personal financial structure, the keystone of which is the 50-30-20 Budget. 50% of my income is designated for necessities, 30% is designated for wants, and 20% is designated for savings.
