First Annual 'Smart Choice' Rankings of the Best Online Colleges and Universities in 2012 Published by SuperScholar.org

Posted: at 1:55 pm

SAN ANTONIO, Jan. 31, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Online education and career information website SuperScholar published its first annual "Smart Choice" ranking of the top 25 online colleges and universities for undergraduate degrees for 2012. The ranking can be found at http://www.superscholar.org/best-online-colleges/.

SuperScholar editors developed the "Smart Choice" ranking as a tool to help prospective students make a smart choice about where to invest in their education. The ranking helps fill a void in quality, unbiased rankings and reviews of online colleges and universities that offer distance learning. In order to be considered for inclusion in the ranking an institution had to be a regionally accredited college or university listed in the National Center for Education Statistics database and offer online bachelor degree programs in multiple disciplines (specialty schools focused on a narrow range of subjects were excluded). Schools that passed this initial screening process were then ranked by editors based on each school's perceived market credibility and prestige, academic quality, support for students, and student satisfaction.

Northeastern University in Boston, Massachusetts earned the honor of the top "Smart Choice" university for an online degree. Other ranked schools include (in alphabetical order):

Arizona State University (ASU Online) Colorado Christian University Colorado State University Global Campus Drexel University Dusquesne University Immaculata University Kansas State University LeTourneau University Oregon State University eCampus Ottawa University Penn State World Campus Portland State University Regis University Robert Morris University Saint Leo University Southern New Hampshire University University of Cincinnati University of Illinois at Chicago University of Massachusetts (UMassOnline) University of Minnesota-Crookston University of the Incarnate Word Upper Iowa University Washington State University Western Governors University

SuperScholar.org is a college and career website offering inspiring ideas and useful career advice for lifelong learners and connecting them to quality educational opportunities to further their educational and career goals. The editors of SuperScholar understand that all college rankings have their limitations and recommends that their rankings be used a general guide and not a final determining factor in choosing a school. Powerhouse – "Firework" (BEST or WORST PERFORMANCE? – Review) – America’s Got Talent 8/9/11 Recap – Video

Posted: at 7:48 am

10-08-2011 01:30 America's Got Talent Review - Season 6, Episode 19, August 9th, 2011. (8/9/11) Powerhouse was the featured performance tonight, but Beth Ann Robinson was my personal favorite. SHOW BREAKDOWN: TNC Elite - The group of cloggers danced to I've Got a Feeling by the Black Eyed Peas. Although the music may have been overpowered by the stamping of feet, they were an infectious group. Brett Daniels - The illusionist used his act to pay tribute to Marilyn Monroe. While the opening and ending were enjoyable, the middle of the performance was boring due to dancing instead of more illusions. Gabe Rocks - Being the only animal act, the bulldog balanced on a rocking horse, rode a skateboard, and imitated Piers Morgan by hitting the X button. Aeon - Using parkour as their talent, Aeon was sort of disappointing tonight due to being over confident. Breena Bell - The 8 year old performed a contortionist routine to "Walkin' On Sunshine." The judges agreed that she should become a dancer or gymnast and return to the show in a few years. Kevin Colis - He covered "The Lazy Song" by Bruno Mars and did a great job, especially since I despise the original version of the song. Beth Ann Robinson - The 14 year old dancer wore a green costume and had a cage as a prop. Beth Ann is fantastic and I wish her the best of luck. Gymkana - The stunt group donned a human ladder while flipping to "Edge Of Glory" by Lady Gaga. Phenomenal display tonight. Kalani Basketball Freestyle - Hailed as a "one man Harlem ...

Heather Gearity enjoying success at Montclair State

Posted: at 7:47 am

Heather Gearity of Rutherford experienced a pair of memorable track seasons in her first two years at Montclair State.

Her third season could be even better.

The transfer from Stockton set personal bests in the 200 meters (26.38 seconds) and 400 (57.23) last weekend in the Terrier Classic at Boston University.

That comes on the heels of her showing at the Lehigh Invitational, where she produced a career-best 3,133 points in the pentathlon (second-best in Division III this season). She posted personal-best marks in the 60-meter hurdles (9.74), high jump (1.49 meters), shot put (8.38) and long jump (5.02). She wrapped up the pentathlon by winning the 800 in a personal-best 2:23.78.

Gearity, who finished second nationally in the outdoor 400 hurdles, currently is ranked in the top 35 among Division III athletes in four events.

Former Indian Hills star Corey Crawford, a freshman from Oakland, was third in the 200 (22.26) as Rutgers won the Metropolitan Championship men's title.

Ramapo College's Anita Rogers and Ackeme Brown starred at the Met Championships. Rogers, a junior from Wyckoff, tied a school record in the long jump (5.68) and was fifth in the 60-meter dash with a personal-best time of 7.91. Brown, a freshman from Englewood, was third in the 60 in a school-record 6.99 and sixth in the 200 with a personal-best 22.51.

Victor Servito of Stevens, a junior from Teaneck, finished second in three events at the Empire 8 Conference championships. Kelly Freed, a sophomore from Rutherford, set a school record (5:32.46) in finishing sixth in the mile.

Rosenberg stands out

Jason Rosenberg, a sophomore point guard from Wayne, contributed 14 points and six assists as Rowan upset William Paterson on Saturday. The former Wayne Valley star is averaging 7.7 and 6.7 on the season, and had a career-high 14 assists in a recent victory over Vaughn College.
