Zumba a hit at Sunrise Elementary

BULLHEAD CITY Leah Heald has a goal: making fitness fun.
Heald, who teaches physical education at Sunrise Elementary School, recently introduced Zumba to the schools PE routine.
After having each PE class practice the routine, which combines dance, martial arts and aerobics, Heald capped the fun it off with a one-hour Zumbathon.
Its a fun way to improve student fitness, she said. Were trying to show them that you dont have to do jumping jacks and pushups to be fit.
But once that music came on and they followed my movements, they were in the front row dancing and smiling the whole time, she said. They didnt want any water breaks they just wanted to keep going.
All the teachers at Sunrise got copies of the CD used in the routine, Heald said, and students practiced their moves in the classroom.
Theyre talking about it all day, she said. They cant get the songs out of their heads.
For the Zumbathon, the student body used the multipurpose room, with classes rotating in and out during the event.
During one song, Heald would shout shuffle, at which point the kids would break out of the choreography and each do his or her own moves within safety guidelines, of course.
In the PE classes, Heald said, the students would check their pulses and heart rates and measure the impact that exercise had on them.

More than 100 people participated in Turkey Day Aerobics at the YMCA in downtown Wausau.
People joined in to get fit and donate canned goods to The Neighbor's Place.
Organizers said the event has been happening for nearly 10 years.

who I am and what I am
I may not be normal the fact is I am that person you always come to depending on things. you have to understand what drove me to this life still and thinking but the fact is I can be that person you fear and respect and yet admire and model yourself off of on one level over the other. if you should have time on friday and be in the los angeles area and have time to go down to the eagle rock farmers market every friday from 4-8 and ask the vendors if they know a Ralph Arnold or RJ they will tell you plenty about me and what I am and yet who I am. there is a guy who does kettle korn down there by the name of Ralph who knows me and he knows me well enough that he can tell you who I am and what kind of person I am. I worked at this market for the longest time and people got use to me and knew me. they said I was the eagle rock farmers market. I put my body and mind on the eagle rock farmers market. but the fact is I quit because of financial and mental reasons not physical. I was use to doing all the labor work. the thing was it was taking to much of my mental resources and not that much of my financial resources over the other. the thing is excercise being most of the factor with very little doing with diet is the side of things. ask your doctor if I am right, next to looking at one side over the other. medical insurance companies would rather insure the person who gets plenty of excercise than the person who makes lots of money who does not get good excercise and has a good diet. the thing diabetes, high cholestorole, and diabites is caused more by lack of excercise than it is diet. you look at ranchers, farmers, athelets and you see that it is more a matter of excercise than it is diet. these people live longer lifes than people like me who eat right and get very little excercise that you see things. the thing is you also have to take a look at the chinese, japanese, and european diet to understand alot the sides of things to understand why they are in better health than americans. american that do alot of labor are in better health because of excercise than diet. don #39;t believe me look it up yourself to see it for yourself.From:Ralph ArnoldViews:0 0ratingsTime:05:00More inPeople Blogs
