Treadmill is one of the most popular pieces of health club exercise equipment. It #39;s not a difficult piece of equipment to use; however, many exercisers use it incorrectly. Learning how to use the treadmill properly can help you get a safe and effective workout. You need to use caution on a treadmill if you have been diagnosed by a doctor with serious joint and/or muscle problems, especially if they involve your back, knees, and ankles or if you have any heart problem. In these cases a machine like a cross trainer is preferable, because they have a more fluid movement and less impact on the knees and feet. How to Use Treadmill Safely - bull; Straddle the treadmill by placing your feet on the outer edges of the fitness equipment, not on the belt. Later you can also straddle the sides of the treadmill while the treadmill is running, if the "stop" features do not work. Turn on the treadmill using the "start" or "on" button. The treadmill belt will begin to slowly move. Step on it with one foot, then the other. bull; Within a few minutes you will be accustomed to the feel and pace of the belt. Cycling is a great form of cardiovascular exercise. There are lot of health benefits associated with regular cycling. Your cardiovascular fitness will improve and this means you #39;ll lower your risk of heart attack and stroke. Pedaling is a low-impact activity, so you can improve muscle tone without stressing your knee and ankle joints. How to Use Cycling (Upright Stationary Bike) Safely: bull; Climb onto the bike, and place your feet onto the pedals while sitting on the seat. Ensure your legs bend slightly at the knees when your feet are on the pedals and the pedals are in the lowest position in the pedaling stroke. You shouldn #39;t have to strain or rock your hips to pedal. Adjust the seat up or down so you are comfortable on the bike. Set the handlebars correctly (if your bike allows adjustments). You should be able to hold the bar so that your arms extend out at shoulder level. bull; Begin bicycling and warm up for approximately five minutes. The purpose of the warm up is to get your blood moving and prepare your body to move into the more strenuous cycling. Set the stationary bicycle to an easy resistance level. Pedal faster after the warm up period ends. Increase the intensity and the speed of your cycling. Change the resistance level on the bicycle to make the bicycling more intense.
