Yoga may be more than just an exercise. In Maryland, doctors are learning how to use yoga instead of drugs to treat various medical problems.

Rajan Narayanan isn't your average yoga instructor. During his classes, he uses words like "neuroplasticity," avoids Sanskrit terms and sometimes shows up to teach in a suit and tie.

And often, as was the case on a recent Monday at a Maryland conference center, most of his students are doctors and nurses.

Stretched out on orange and green yoga mats for a weekend-long workshop, the 30 students learned breathing techniques, lifestyle tips and research findings that support the health benefits of yoga.

Narayanan, a longtime practitioner and economist by day, is one of the founders of Life In Yoga, a nonprofit organization that seeks to educate people on the benefits of this ancient Indian practice. A major part of this effort, however, is directed at integrating yoga therapy in the mainstream health care system by training medical providers to use yogic breathing and techniques to treat various maladies.

"We need to expand the horizons of physicians yoga is much more than just relaxation response," he said.

Since starting this push in 2010, Life in Yoga has trained 145 doctors. Its programs, jointly sponsored by Howard University College of Medicine, are recognized by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education. That means doctors can earn credits they need to keep their licenses current by learning about yoga. A four-day yoga course costs doctors $695.

Yoga therapy is a relatively new addition to the list of accredited courses, but one that has proved helpful to physicians, said Dr. Murray Kopelow, president and CEO of the ACCME.

"These are things our professionals need to know," he said. Dr. Harminder Kaur, an internist in Clarksburg, Md., agreed. Kaur, who also practices yoga in her personal life, said the Life in Yoga curriculum has helped her patients with illnesses such as sleep apnea and arthritis.

Although the kickstand is a bit difficult to pry away from the main body, its nonetheless a subtle and useful design element that gives you more choices for how to use your tablet around the house. The battery cylinder continues to pull double-duty as a comfy handle, as well as a power source.

But Im all about the visuals, and what I love most about this tablet is the 10.1-inch HD display, with a resolution of 1920 by 1200 pixels. When so many tablets and even low-end notebooks seem stuck at 1366 by 768 pixels, this nicer quality helps the Yoga Tablet 10 HD+ shine.

I kept wanting to attach the optional keyboard ($59) to the tablet, but its completely wireless and also functions as a tablet cover that slides on and off easily.

As my colleague Florence Ion noted after her hands-on time with the tablet, Lenovo took a cool design and executed it much better with the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 10 HD+. Due to ship in May 2014 for a price of $349, it could be just the stylish, clever product to lure people away from less remarkable competitors, and possibly evendare I suggest itan iPad user or two.

The pioneer of "hot yoga" Bikram Choudhury is now under fire himself, defending his yoga empire against lawsuits brought by women claiming sexual misconduct.

In the last year, five women have filed civil lawsuits against Bikram, one of the richest, most successful yoga gurus in the world. All five of them accuse Bikram of sexually assaulting them. Four of the women accuse him of rape.

Hes a sick man, plaintiff Sarah Baughn told ABC News' "Nightline" correspondent David Wright. I hope he gets some help.

Baughn was the first alleged victim to speak up, recently telling her story to Vanity Fair magazine. Her appearance on "Nightline" along with two other women pursuing lawsuits against Bikram and his Yoga College of India is the first time the alleged victims have detailed their claims on camera.

Baughn, a former yoga champion, told "Nightline" she met Bikram in 2005 when she attended his teacher training course. The grueling nine-week course, which costs thousands of dollars, is led by Bikram and is the only way to become a Bikram yoga teacher.

Baughn, 20 at the time, said Bikram took an immediate interest in her.

He told me there was a connection between the two of us that he had never felt before, Baughn said, adding he claimed to have known her in a past life.

Part of me felt a little bit funny, she added. "But still part of me felt like I might be his favorite. This is crazy!

Baughn said Bikram repeatedly made unwanted advances, starting by giving her the gold Rolex watch off his wrist in the middle of class just three days into training. She said she gave it back after class.
