FMT LETTER: From Raymond Lim, via e-mail

We still have no idea on where MH370 is after so many days. What Ive heard thus far are guesses and theories? Yes, hope can be painful especially in these long waiting instances but hope we must. It is the only ray of life for now. The pain of losing someone you love and the possibility of not seeing them again, not even the body, can be excruciatingly unbearable. Someone once told me, life isnt as serious as our mind makes it out to be.

As the world watches and tries to assist in locating MH370, we should always be mindful to let this be a lesson for all agencies globally playing their roles responsibly, irrespective whether it is the governments, airliners or the those inside the plane, including the pilot and co-pilot, in ensuring maximum to arrive safely while flying from one place to another.

As each moment passes by, I feel the deep sadness of those whose loved ones were on MH370 and may we continue to hope for the best but expect the worst. And I quote: No matter how long your journey appears, there is never more than this: One step, one breath, one moment now (Eckhart Tolle) for all to reflect.

Is there hope for MH370?

What do you do if your agent isnt getting you in enough doors during pilot season? First, communicate with them.

Its pilot season. Everyones stressed. Youre one of many clients on someones roster. Remember that they are working hard to get all of their clients jobs and its important to have faith that they know what theyre doing and theyre invested in helping you get work. If they werent, they wouldnt be working with you.

Perhaps its still early in pilot season and you havent gotten any auditions yet. You start doubting whether or not youre with the right person, or if theyre doing anything on your behalfor if they even like you.

Dont hit the panic button. Often, the main roles for new shows are offers being made to famous actors so thats why youre not being seen. Once that part of the casting process winds down and the roles have been filled, the casting offices will start looking at other people for supporting roles and guest star and co-star roles.

Youll get called in. Breathe.

Recently, though, I spoke to an actress who was not only not going out for pilot season, but when she was, her manager would undermine her confidence by giving her arbitrary bad feedback and tell her all the reasons why she wouldnt get a role.

Everyone knows the business can be challenging. That its just numbers. That if youre doing your best and getting callbacks things are working and its just a matter of time.

So when no one supports the artist in that process, you have two options.

1. Say nothing and hope it gets better. (But we all know it wont.)
