Ia berkenaan tapak warisan Hindu Vivekananda Ashram yang berusia 110 tahun kerana isu berkenaan termasuk di bawah bidang kuasanya

PETALING JAYA : Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) Malaysia menggesa agar Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan, Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor tidak mengamalkan sikap lepas tangan berkaitan tapak warisan Vivekananda Ashram kerana isu berkenaan termasuk di bawah bidang kuasanya.

Menurut Exco Sayap Pemudanya, Jestin Raj Savarimuthu, bangunan warisan Ashram yang berusia 110 tahun itu adalah merupakan simbol ikon spiritual di mana ia merupakan sumber kebanggaan masyarakat India di Malaysia

AMK membantah keras berkenaan isu ini di mana kami turut berkongsi sentimen komuniti dan identiti mereka di Malaysia.

Kami juga menuntut Lembaga Pemegang Amanah untuk bekerjasama bersama-sama Kementerian Pelancongan dan Kebudayaan bagi menggazetkan bangunan tersebut kerana mereka telah ditawarkan untuk menggazetkan bangunan itu pada April 2008 tetapi tawaran tersebut ditolak oleh pemegang amanah pada November 2008, katanya pada sidang media di Ibu Pejabat PKR di sini hari ini.

Baru-baru ini, media melaporkan kerajaan tidak boleh menghentikan projek yang dibangunkan pihak swasta di tapak warisan Vivekananda Ashram kecuali menasihatkan pemilik tanah mengekalkan bangunan itu.

Menteri Wilayah Persekutuan Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor berkata, bangunan warisan Hindu itu terletak di tanah persendirian, oleh itu kementerian akan menasihatkan pemaju dan pemegang amanah untuk mengekalkan bangunan asalnya.

Jestin berkata, pihak Lembaga Pemegang Amanah seharusnya telus dan memberikan maklumat terperinci cadangan pembangunan kerana mereka menyatakan ia adalah untuk manfaat masyarakat India.

Dalam pada itu, Naib Ketua Angkatan Muda KEADILAN, Fahmi Fadzil berkata perkara tersebut merupakan salah satu masalah yang sering berlaku di Kuala Lumpur.

Umum kita mengetahui di Kuala Lumpur banyak mempunyai bangunan-bangunan bersejarah dan tapak warisan.

Being built on a beautiful mountain cliff, with thoughtful architecture and layout, the Designers have embedded the message of Buddhism to the temple complex. The commitment of the monks to keep the place worship-worthy needs special mention. The temple in every way has contributed to enhance the fame of Sri Lanka.

It is when one is away from the motherland for some time the feeling of being homesick sets in. You gradually begin to feel that you are missing the relations, the friends, the environment you lived in and the traditional food and the culture you were brought up.

As one who had been regularly away from the country during past decade I have personally experienced this situation and also have met hundreds of Sri Lankans and others who have migrated from other countries who share my experience.

For any such community that has migrated out of the mother land, I could vouch without hesitation that the religious center of their faith in the community is the place that becomes a meeting place. It is these religious centers that contribute to make the migrant's life easy and better and give them some relief filling the vacuum of missing the motherland.

It is in the light of this background that the Buddhist Vihara of Queensland, Goodna, Australia, popularly known as Goodna Temple came in to existence in 1998 and is being discussed in this article. The Sri Lankans in Brisbane are fortunate to have one more Buddhist temple in Forest Lake in addition to the "Goodna temple".

The elegance and the serenity of a temple of worship depend greatly upon its location. Knowing well of this fact, the chief priest of the Buddhist Vihare, Ven. Sitinamaluwe Sugathasara Thero had been looking for the most suitable location for the temple with great patience for a long period. "I spent hours, months and years exploring the internet looking for the most suitable location for the temple that was in my mind to be built. Once you are committed to buy a substandard location the whole idea is lost. I did not want to compromise for a sub standard location. I was aiming at a specious block of land on a hill top and when my eyes set on this location on the Eric Street , I knew that the most suitable location has been found." the Ven. monk explained.

Two and a half acres of the hilly land with a well maintained large bungalow constructed in the Queenslander style, a special form of architecture typical to Queensland for buildings of the post war period is now used as the shrine room and the residence for monks. The temple premises are located on a hilly area of Goodna with tall trees creating shade to make the environment peaceful and give it the natural atmosphere of a meditation center. Three items that make a temple complex complete are the "Stupa", "Bodhi Tree" and the "Shrine room" and within this short period the temple has established all these features and more.

The beautiful "stupa" was completed only an year ago and had been ceremonially opened in September 2013.

The "Stupa" has been built on a high flat form with a fleet of steps leading to it and with the few tall pillars around it creates the atmosphere of the "Thuparamaya" in Anuradhapura. What adds to its serenity is the simple white colour of the complex with the surrounding floor area in plain white cement. The magnificent simple lighting makes the "Stupa" looking very serene at nights.

The "Bodhi Tree" at the temple has a special unique story. It had been "root lifted" from the place where the temple was earlier located and transported and replanted here at a cost of eight thousand dollars. With all the huge investment and care the Bodhi tree had died due to drought but the arborist assured that its root system would bring out a new plant.

Scorpion Resurrection was written February 2013 by Richard Del Connor, "The Hippy Coyote" of American Zen for the completed screenplay, Kung Fu Cowboy Rock & Roll Movie 1. Richard explained to the Kulaks Woodshed M.C. before his performance that he hopes this song will win an Oscar for Best Song in a Movie. Scorpion Resurrection is track #3 on the End of the Line album by American Zen and tells the story of his Las Vegas adventure that led him back to his San Diego homeland. Richard has been living out of his 1996 forest green Toyota Tacoma truck with a purple fiberglass shell since he left his family in Montrose, California to start a Kung Fu and Tai Chi school in Las Vegas, Christmas 2011. "We're not homeless we have cars," sings Coyote. "I need a financial injection--to complete my scorpion resurrection." The album was recorded inside his Tacoma Studios with Richard pretending to be all four members of American Zen, "America's first Buddhist rock band." Recorded using a Zoom-4Hn 4-track digital recorder, (a Christmas gift from one of his Kung Fu students), this album sounds like the first albums of Led Zeppelin and Cream with Coyote performing two original instrumental flute songs similar to Bouree by Jethro Tull.

Richard, known as "Kung Fu Cowboy" to his fellow stagehands, was stung in the neck by a tan scorpion October 2012 while working a Brad Paisley concert at the Cricket Amphitheater near the Mexican border. Two weeks prior to this, Richard had signed a Life Option Agreement with Scott Karahadian to write the Kung Fu Cowboy Rock & Roll Movie 1 screenplay based upon his life. Unable to work or do Kung Fu, swollen Richard became a writing partner and reshaped his true life story to now include ghosts jumping out of his body to do his Kung Fu fighting for him and rescue his children.

As Buddha Zhen, Richard teaches Shaolin Kung Fu weapons using the same traditional martial arts dances that have been passed down from monk to monk for 1,000 years. Founder of three Kung Fu school systems: Shaolin Chi Mantis Traditional Buddhist Gongfu, Tai Chi Youth, and Buddha Kung Fu; Richard is currently teaching at North Hollywood Park in North Hollywood, California. David Carradiness daughter, Calista Carradine, has been a student of Buddha Kung Fu for over a year at this location. The song, "Kung Fu Cowboy 2" on the End of the Line album tells about his teaching practices and Kung Fu lifestyle.
