"In 2012, we decided to focus only on fitness and we have taken steps to reposition Reebok from a sports-gear to a fitness brand. Going forward, we are planning to open up to 15 new format 'Fitness Studios' stores by the end of 2016," Reebok India Brand Director Somdeb Basu told PTI.

Apart from selling Reebok's merchandise, Fitness Studio's also undertake classes in yoga, aerobics and other forms of workouts. At present, there is one Fitness Studio in the country in Mumbai.

"We have completely exited from selling sports merchandise like cricket bats etc. We have introduced products catering to fitness," he said.

The company, part of the Adidas Group, is also looking at converting all its existing stores into its new format 'Fit Hub' stores by mid 2017.

"Currently, there are 300 Reebok stores in India, out of which 130 are Fit Hub stores. We plan to convert all our existing stores in to Fit Hub format stores," Basu said.

Reebok Fit Hub stores offer fitness and training products besides advice, guidance and information on community-based fitness events.

Basu said that launching products targeted at women and giving such items more display in its stores have helped the company increase its revenue contribution from female customers from 15 per cent two years ago to over 30 per cent at present.

"In top-end Fit Hub stores contribution from women customers has gone up to 45 per cent," he added.

Reebok plans 15 new format 'Fit Hub' stores in India

ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - Every morning, Jessie Overaker hops out of bed and, like so many others, gets in her workout.

Her exercise of choice is jumping rope. Thats been the case for the past 15 years.

Shes 92.

Her kid sister, Evelyn Cooper, does aerobics twice a day most days, with the same aim of keeping fit.

Shes 90.

Overaker starts at 7 every morning, so she isnt in anyone elses way at the Primrose Retirement Community where she lives.

Its just like getting dressed. I fix my breakfast and clean the kitchen and then I jump rope. Then I do stretching exercises. Its part of my routine. I jump every day, Overaker told the Aberdeen American News (http://bit.ly/1EL8hgf ).

She said she has been skipping rope for the majority of her life.

My mother used to jump rope with us, Overaker said.

I just keep going until I jump 100 times, she said.

Acts ranged from Reggie Swoverland and Dimitrios Potsos rapping the Alphabet Aerobics to classical music being performed on the piano by Krista Schaefer and Carissa Skye, and on piccolo by Ellen Finn. Vocal selections were performed by Alexis Benson, Francesca Farzalo and Brigid Aslin.

Highlights of the night include the VIBE fiddle club, the Off Q Improv Club, and Emily Kenworthy dancing to "Dont Forget to Remember Me."
