Barbara Marx Hubbard's Christ-Consciousness

"Christ-consciousness and Christ-abilities are the natural inheritance of every human being on Earth. When the word of this hope has reached the nations, the end of this phase of evolution shall come. All will know their choice. All will be required to choose..... All who choose not to evolve will die off; their souls will begin again within a different planetary system which will serve as kindergarten for the transition from self-centered to whole-centered being. The kindergarten class of Earth will be over. Humankind's collective power is too great to be inherited by self-centered, infantile people." (from The Plan, quoting Barbara Marx Hubbard Happy Birthday Planet Earth.p.17)

Marx Hubbard - the selection process

New Age leader, Barbara Marx Hubbard has stated, "people will either change or die," for "that is the choice." According to those who would concur with Hubbard, Christians will need to be more open minded so they too can receive the mark of the Antichrist. If they will not join with the global community and its agenda, they will be killed by the "opened minded" New Agers. She states that, "This act is as horrible as killing a cancer cell. It must be done (or the sake of the future of the whole. So be it; be prepared for the selection process which is now beginning. We, the elders, have been patiently waiting until the very last moment before the quantum transformation, to take action to cut out this corrupted and corrupting element in the body of humanity. It is like watching a cancer grow; something must be done before the whole body is destroyed.... The destructive one fourth must be eliminated from the social body." from Joe Schimmel, "The Coming Persecution"

The specific stages of the Plan were "transmitted" in detail through Bailey directly from "Djwhal Khul", the Tibetan Master, beginning in the 1930s, but much of it was shared only with inner-circle disciples until 1975, when the NA leaders received instructions to go public. Most of the agenda can be found in Alice Bailey's externalization of the Hierarchy. Key NA disciples have released additional how-to books, such as H.G. Wells' The Open Conspiracy and Barbara Marx Hubbard's The Manual for Co-Creaters of the Quantum Leap.

Spiritual Evolution: The Horses And Us – Happy Horse Training

Posted: at 7:50 am

Although the idea of spiritual evolution has no meaning yet for many people, those who have awakened to their own purpose will find the same truths whatever vocation or metier they pursue. Working with horses gives us the opportunity to remember that we are one part of a whole system of life, and that all beings are essentially one.

The holistic principle we follow when looking after our horses is a reflection of the wholeness we can discover in ourselves. The energetic resonance we generate when riding in engagement, which expresses the intention of sharing a gift with our horses, is the same resonance experienced within profound meditation.

Horses are like a mirror which reflects back to us our state of mind and our motivations. Contrary to some thinking however, we believe that horses are very much individuals in their own right, and they are pursuing their own spiritual evolution which is just as relevant as ours.

This is why we know that all difficulties encountered are not necessarily the 'fault' of the rider any more than the horse. Of course there is no fault as such, only limitations which can be addressed, and horses bring their own issues into the relationship as powerfully as we do.

In fact the resonance between horse and rider in terms of their individual limitations is fascinating. We have found that people will attract exactly those horses who can help them to let go of whatever keeps them from being in the present moment. The beauty of this is that the reflection goes both ways and that a person will also provide their horse with whatever kind of contact they need. Even what appears to us as ignorance and cruelty in people, or unsuitability and lack of potential in a horse, spiritual evolution is always in process.

It could be said that the difference between humans and horses is that it is our responsibility to find the solutions, because we have chosen to connect with the horse in this way. Part of our understanding of universal laws is that this choice that we make cannot contradict the horse's choice however, and that they choose their circumstances in the same way we do, as nothing in life is random. In this light it can be seen that as much as we are healing our horses, they are healing us, so maybe the point is that there is no leader, only companions in the journey of spiritual evolution. Moving towards this idea and loosening our concept of dominance and control is part of our self-acceptance.

Many people say that animals are always in the present, and certainly they don't encumber their minds with the same continuous procession of past and future-based thought that we do. They do have their own ways of distracting themselves however - especially when exposed to human contact - and part of the gift we can make to them is to help them rediscover the present moment along with us.

Although many people look to horses for help in their spiritual evolution, riding horses is often no more than an exploitation of their body and mind. Having turned away from this form of riding quite early on in our riding careers, we have spent many years since studying how horses react to the rider in motion. Most people have an idea of the correct seat looks like, but riding is not accomplished in halt, it is a dynamic interaction. We have formulated much of what we understand about correct posture from listening to the horse, both what their body tells us and their mind. There are many complications which obscure the quest for understanding, but having faith in the existence of a truth which will serve both horse and rider in their physical health and spiritual evolution has always worked for us. This faith has helped us to meet people with the same intentions as us who have taught us exactly what we needed to know, as well as having helped us to attract equipment or products which were perfect for our needs.

Every individual has their own strengths, and the secret is always in the balance. Balancing rationality with intuition, and theory with practice. When one of us is open-minded the other will often hold back and highlight the flaws they can see. We have never been shy to explore the boundaries of energy work. Concepts such as past lives and re-incarnation are perfectly normal for us. We believe in the power of crystals and homoeopathy, affirmations and angels. It is not necessary to have prejudices about certain forms of healing and not others because all healing is as simple as allowing energy to flow, and all of these techniques or ideas are only different ways of labeling energy processes to make them more accessible to our mind. Proving any of this scientifically is as meaningless as trying to bottle air, because conventional scientific measurement is limited to a very narrow one-dimensional range. The truth is that potential is unlimited. Anything and everything can exist, and we find what we are looking for - including proof - as we wish it to be.

How does the concept of potential fit in with truth though? If there is truth then surely there must be untruth and 'wrong' ways of doing things. The way it makes sense to us is that we are all essentially going in the right direction, because it is only possible to remember our true nature, or to continue to forget. In this way there are many deviations and hold-ups, but the same limitations will re-surface until we address them and let them go. When we address them we see that they were never real, they were only images projected by our fear.

Sahaj Marg Raja Yoga Meditation – What is Spirituality?

Posted: June 8, 2015 at 2:42 pm

"Spirituality is the science and the art of remembrance" -Chariji

It is the remembrance of our original home, from which we have come. We have become so focused on material life that we no longer remember that divine home. The soul is the traveller on its way back home. The journey is the life we adopt on the way home. It is life itself. The vehicle is the body in which the soul travels through life. Our spiritual goal is to achieve that original condition and the spiritual path is the way we travel to reach that goal.

According to Babuji Maharaj, Spirituality really begins where religion ends. Spirituality is easily identifiable with mysticism. The mystic or spiritual journey is an inner journey of the heart. One of the great tenets or principles of all religions has been that God resides in the heart of the human being. Spirituality focuses attention on the divine effulgence created by the presence of divinity in the heart. Spirituality is the need for an inner existence. (Why spirituality?)

Spirituality invokes no names, confers no attributes, demands no subservience to any artificially created gods of the human mind, and focuses our attention on the infinite, ultimate source of all beings, which is nameless, formless and attribute-less. This approach to the Ultimate can bring together people of all cultures and all religions. If widely practiced, spirituality is perhaps the most potent force for bringing about human integration.(When should spirituality start?).

"As a bird needs two wings to fly, so a human being needs the two wings of existence, the spiritual and the material, to lead a natural and harmonious life. If either is neglected for the other, such a life becomes unnatural and the result cannot be what we desire it to be. Spirituality provides the way to restore this balance within our self."

Highest Bliss is located in ones own Self. - Mandukya Upanishad. Material life may be fulfilling to a certain extent, but it often leaves us with a feeling of emptiness, an indefinable lack of something, even if we do not know what. Most of us want joy, happiness and peace. Spirituality teaches us that real joy, happiness and peace come from within.

Spirituality brings lasting and meaningful change to our lives through inner transformation. As we change, the universe changes around us. With this change, there is a nurturing of the inner qualities of the heart, such as courage, hope, faith, wonder, compassion, tolerance, and most of all, love.(What is Sahaj Marg?)

Spirituality is all about preparing for change Changing from what we are, to what we have to become.

Transhumanist Values – Nick Bostrom

Posted: June 4, 2015 at 11:46 am

1. What is Transhumanism?

Transhumanism is a loosely defined movement that has developed gradually over the past two decades.[1] It promotes an interdisciplinary approach to understanding and evaluating the opportunities for enhancing the human condition and the human organism opened up by the advancement of technology. Attention is given to both present technologies, like genetic engineering and information technology, and anticipated future ones, such as molecular nanotechnology and artificial intelligence.

The enhancement options being discussed include radical extension of human health-span, eradication of disease, elimination of unnecessary suffering, and augmentation of human intellectual, physical, and emotional capacities. Other transhumanist themes include space colonization and the possibility of creating superintelligent machines, along with other potential developments that could profoundly alter the human condition. The ambit is not limited to gadgets and medicine, but encompasses also economic, social, institutional designs, cultural development, and psychological skills and techniques.

Transhumanists view human nature as a work-in-progress, a half-baked beginning that we can learn to remold in desirable ways. Current humanity need not be the endpoint of evolution. Transhumanists hope that by responsible use of science, technology, and other rational means we shall eventually manage to become posthuman, beings with vastly greater capacities than present human beings have.

Some transhumanists take active steps to increase the probability that they personally will survive long enough to become posthuman, for example by choosing a healthy lifestyle or by making provisions for having themselves cryonically suspended in case of de-animation.[2] In contrast to many other ethical outlooks, which in practice often reflect a reactionary attitude to new technologies, the transhumanist view is guided by an evolving vision to take a more proactive approach to technology policy. This vision, in broad strokes, is to create the opportunity to live much longer and healthier lives, to enhance our memory and other intellectual faculties, to refine our emotional experiences and increase our subjective sense of well-being, and generally to achieve a greater degree of control over our own lives. This affirmation of human potential is offered as an alternative to customary injunctions against playing God, messing with nature, tampering with our human essence, or displaying punishable hubris.

Transhumanism does not entail technological optimism. While future technological capabilities carry immense potential for beneficial deployments, they also could be misused to cause enormous harm, ranging all the way to the extreme possibility of intelligent life becoming extinct. Other potential negative outcomes include widening social inequalities or a gradual erosion of the hard-to-quantify assets that we care deeply about but tend to neglect in our daily struggle for material gain, such as meaningful human relationships and ecological diversity. Such risks must be taken very seriously, as thoughtful transhumanists fully acknowledge.[3]

Transhumanism has roots in secular humanist thinking, yet is more radical in that it promotes not only traditional means of improving human nature, such as education and cultural refinement, but also direct application of medicine and technology to overcome some of our basic biological limits.

The range of thoughts, feelings, experiences, and activities accessible to human organisms presumably constitute only a tiny part of what is possible. There is no reason to think that the human mode of being is any more free of limitations imposed by our biological nature than are those of other animals. In much the same way as Chimpanzees lack the cognitive wherewithal to understand what it is like to be human the ambitions we humans have, our philosophies, the complexities of human society, or the subtleties of our relationships with one another, so we humans may lack the capacity to form a realistic intuitive understanding of what it would be like to be a radically enhanced human (a posthuman) and of the thoughts, concerns, aspirations, and social relations that such humans may have.

Our own current mode of being, therefore, spans but a minute subspace of what is possible or permitted by the physical constraints of the universe (see Figure 1). It is not farfetched to suppose that there are parts of this larger space that represent extremely valuable ways of living, relating, feeling, and thinking.

You may hear stuff about better communication being the cure for the rumor mill contagion. Though that is possibly true, beware. Listen in and draw your own conclusions.

"Our problem around here is communication. No one knows what's going on." -- But didn't you get the message? "What message?" -- It was in an e mail sent out last week. You should have gotten one in your mailbox. "I do not have time to keep checking my box every five minutes. No one reads those stupid e mails anyway. Someone should have told me." -- I see what you mean. Communication is a big problem they have. They'll have to get it straightened out if they expect us to get anything done.

Who are "They" who have to get it straightened out? THEY embraces everyone or at least everyone who aspires to personal success.

Another important business principle comes into play when a project crashes, a solid relationship fails, an experienced employee screws up, or something else goes sour. You cannot anticipate everything and no one is perfect. That is life, sure enough. Yet, is it really?

The truth is that, short of an act of God, there were people who were not observant enough, clever enough, persistent enough, people who did not have enough hindsight, insight, and foresight to prevent what happened. Certainly they are only human; and just as certainly, a better outcome was their responsibility. Knowing when and why it was your fault and stepping up to accept responsibility is one way others know that you are serious about your success.

Being serious about your success is much more than just accepting responsibility, though. It also means that you take the heat when that is what you have to do.

For example, do you sometimes have to step up and make decisions without the clear authority to make them, knowing people will not like it? Do you sometimes have to do something that is going to get people upset? Well, you have to do what you have to do.

The dilemma is knowing how to deal with it when you are asked, "Just who do you think you are? Who put you in charge?" You can say, "I, me, a committee of one. It is a collaborative thing." Give Red Skelton credit for the I, me, committee of one, since he said it first but then do not hesitate. Sometimes you have no choice but to take a deep breath, plunge in, and do what has to be done.

Taking care of business is definitely everyone's business and you have to hold up your end of the deal. At the same time, though, everyone was not created equally. Even if they were, they certainly do not act like it. Some are a pleasure while others. Well, there is no need to go into that. You only need to see how the exceptional few do it.

They exemplify appropriate demeanor and behavior, high personal standards and ethics, professional development and quality performance. What you additionally need to know is that their real secret is that they ask people to help solve their problems instead of trying to get them to accept their solutions. You need to be a master at getting others to help you, if you are to be a model for others to follow.

Examples of Personal Development Goals – Buzzle

Posted: at 8:40 pm

I don't do different things, I do things differently. Shiv Khera (Management Guru)

We are urged to form goals from very early on in our lives. Forming goals is considered important because it gives our life a direction; and the efforts taken to achieve those goals helps and leads to personal development. Though one might be inclined to think otherwise, personal development is not necessarily achieved by doing something extraordinary -- it can just as well be achieved by carrying through the most simplest and mundane acts. The only criteria that needs to be fulfilled is that it should meet the person's own needs and help propel him/her forward in life and achieve success.

Personal development can be achieved through both, self-development and the development of others. Which is to say that helping others, or being of service to others leads to personal growth as well. To give an example of the same -- mentors, teachers, doctors or managers bring about development of others along with the development of their own personality.

The Importance of Goals

Goals lead you to the path of success, allow you to take risks and set challenges for yourselves. Only if one has set goals do they keep trying to achieve them, despite obstacles and difficulties. Goals help you control your emotions and fears when the going gets tough. Achieving smaller goals helps gain and increase confidence levels and prepares you for achieving major goals.

The S.M.A.R.T. Rule

One should set meaningful, realistic and professional development goals to make progress towards an ideal life. Setting long-term goals is just as essential as setting weekly or daily goals. When it comes to setting goals, one needs to check the impact of the goal on four areas of life, namely -- body, heart, mind, and spirit. Furthermore, it is believed that goals can be successfully achieved if they are based on the S.M.A.R.T. principle. This includes goals which are:

Specific. Measurable. Attainable. Relevant. Time-Bound.

Have you ever noticed that activities such as praying, music, dance, singing, chanting, poetry, writing and sports etc., are all forms of personal development programs or tools? These tools were designed to help perform various functions such as health improvement or aesthetic satisfaction. Interestingly, they can also be linked to 'final goals' of personal development because they bring you closer to discovering the true meaning of your life or help in living a good life. Personal goals cannot be considered 'personal' forever, as they often continue to influence family values, education, and most other aspects of life.

Building your own identity. Becoming the person you aspire to be. Fixing your priorities Specifying your values. Determining your lifestyle. Defining your ethics. Improving your knowledge, potential and awareness. Enhancing the quality of your life by being more spiritual and healthy. Developing strengths, learning techniques or methods to achieve wisdom. Fulfilling aspirations. Building human capital. Defining and executing personal development plans. Developing spirituality. Improving health.

What Is Personal Growth & Development? | eHow

Posted: at 8:40 pm

Human development is a lifelong process. People are capable of growing, learning and improving throughout their entire lives, and the ability to do so has an impact on many areas. Personal growth is necessary both in the workplace and in relationships. There are various components of personal development, including responsibility, learning, behavior and attitude. Striving to improve these areas will lead to greater opportunities in the workplace and healthy relationships.

Personal growth and development are relevant to the workplace. Employers want employees who are learning and growing. People who are becoming more knowledgeable and adept at their positions are more valuable than employees who remain stagnant. An ideal employee will be capable of handling and understanding more than one position, as this allows for greater flexibility within the organization.

Relationships often require work and effort on behalf of the individuals involved. When a person is able to grow and develop, it helps to foster healthy relationships. Additionally, having a significant other to offer support can be immensely helpful when one is looking to develop potential and grow into a more complete person.

One area for personal growth is responsibility. Being responsible is a trait often identified with adulthood and maturity. The ability to accomplish and take on new responsibilities is especially important in the workplace. Employers evaluate their employees on how well they do at completing tasks. Beyond just meeting tasks, employees who seek out additional responsibility are more likely to be rewarded with greater compensation and the opportunity for better positions. Developing the ability to be responsible helps enable one to grow in her career.

Humans grow and develop by learning new skills and acquiring additional knowledge. One way for a person to develop is to further his education. Education is a valued commodity in the business world, and institutions of higher learning provide ample opportunity for an individual to grow. Colleges and universities promote critical thinking. By using this resource, an employee can take steps towards developing his career.

By developing and growing, one's attitude can change for the better. Self-confidence will be improved with the acquisition of new skills and knowledge. The more one comes to respect herself, the more respect she can, in turn, offer others. An improved attitude can lead to further growth and development and help one achieve her full potential. The better an attitude one has, the more she is able to accomplish. Employers will notice those workers who have great attitudes and get a lot done. Employees like that are the ones who become promoted and reap greater financial benefit.

Alan Watts – Brain Pickings

Posted: June 2, 2015 at 1:42 pm

by Maria Popova

The cause of and cure for the illusion of separateness that keeps us from embracing the richness of life.

During the 1950s and 1960s, British philosopher and writer Alan Watts began popularizing Eastern philosophy in the West, offering a wholly different perspective on inner wholeness in the age of anxiety and what it really means to live a life of purpose. We owe much of todays mainstream adoption of practices like yoga and meditation to Wattss influence. His 1966 masterwork The Book: On the Taboo Against Knowing Who You Are (public library) builds upon his indispensable earlier work as Watts argues with equal parts conviction and compassion that the prevalent sensation of oneself as a separate ego enclosed in a bag of skin is a hallucination which accords neither with Western science nor with the experimental philosophy-religions of the East. He explores the cause and cure of that illusion in a way that flows from profound unease as we confront our cultural conditioning into a deep sense of lightness as we surrender to the comforting mystery and interconnectedness of the universe.

Envisioned as a packet of essential advice a parent might hand down to his child on the brink of adulthood as initiation into the central mystery of life, this existential manual is rooted in what Watts calls a cross-fertilization of Western science with an Eastern intuition.

Alan Watts, early 1970s (Image courtesy of Everett Collection)

Though strictly nonreligious, the book explores many of the core inquiries which religions have historically tried to address the problems of life and love, death and sorrow, the universe and our place in it, what it means to have an I at the center of our experience, and what the meaning of existence might be. In fact, Watts begins by pulling into question how well-equipped traditional religions might be to answer those questions:

The standard-brand religions, whether Jewish, Christian, Mohammedan, Hindu, or Buddhist, are as now practiced like exhausted mines: very hard to dig. With some exceptions not too easily found, their ideas about man and the world, their imagery, their rites, and their notions of the good life dont seem to fit in with the universe as we now know it, or with a human world that is changing so rapidly that much of what one learns in school is already obsolete on graduation day.

Watts considers the singular anxiety of the age, perhaps even more resonant today, half a century and a manic increase of pace later:

There is a growing apprehension that existence is a rat-race in a trap: living organisms, including people, are merely tubes which put things in at one end and let them out at the other, which both keeps them doing it and in the long run wears them out.

He weighs how philosophy might alleviate this central concern by contributing a beautiful addition to the definitions of what philosophy is and recognizing the essential role of wonder in the human experience:
