The Bernard Shaw pub in Dublin to close along with Eatyard

Posted: September 9, 2019 at 2:44 pm

Google Maps The Bernard Shaw pub

Legendary Dublin pub The Bernard Shaw is to close its doors for good.

The Portobello establishment included a beer garden with a pizza restaurant inside a double-decker bus, as well as the adjacent Eatyard, which was host to a number of food outlets.

In May it was reported that the Richmond Street bar had been refused planning permission to keep its outdoor eating and drinking area.

Now it has emerged the cultural icon will close on October 31.

Pub owners said in a statement today on the Bernard Shaw website: "Its with heavy hearts that we announce the end of our Bernard Shaw adventure.

"At the end of October 2019 we will close the Shaw, Eatyard, all organisational, art and performance spaces and everything else in the building and yards for good.

"Weve tried really hard over the last few months to renew the lease, stay on longer, or buy the place. A lot of things didnt go our way over the last 12 months either, but its out of our hands now unfortunately.

"Wed like to say a huge thank you to everyone who was part of this 13 year adventure.

"Our landlord, our neighbours & the council were by and large all brilliant and very helpful & supportive. The artists, makers, designers, bands, DJs, promoters, hustlers and lunatics who did their thing at the Shaw we couldnt have done it without you.

"We have had amazing, loyal customers, many who came, and left, and came back again over those 13 years as life got in the way while we were busy making plans and being busy fools.

"Above all we want to thank our crew. Past and present we have had incredible people work with us. Everything we do is about people. their ideas, trying things out, making a mess of it, trying again, getting it right, having fun, making memories, and when the partys over, lets plan another party. But parties werent meant to last

"Dublin is changing, we can all see and feel it but we are going nowhere & we wont go down without a fight.

"Well start something else, somewhere else [ plans are afoot ] , and keep fighting the good fight. There are so many young creative, clever, smart people in Dublin & Ireland at the moment theres lots to be optimistic about but they need the spaces to meet each other, make plans, and make them happen!

"Well have more info, lineups, events, wakes, next steps out over the next few days & weeks. until the end of October were open as normal, were ready for yall and were gonna party like its.2019!

"Shaw & Shoddytonic Crew."

Online learning options keep Indianapolis students on …

Posted: at 2:43 pm

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.As talks continue in Daleville after the closure of two online charter schools, many parents are looking for different online options for their students.

There isnt a one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to online learning. Its not a good fit for every family, but for the families thatit is,there are many options, especially in Indiana.

One of those options is Connections Academy, which has over 4,000 students enrolled right now. The students receive a strict curriculum, a teacher for each subject whos also online, and a learning coach whos typically someone they can talk to in-person.

Some people have misconceptions about what online students do in a day. Some think students sit around in their pajamas all day, only work when they have to, and are lazy. Students enrolled in Connections have different reasons for taking school online.

I got surrounded with a lot of bad people, and I wanted to get out of that, Abigail Taylor said. She is a 10th grader in Connections. She was enrolled in a traditional school, but she left to switch to online learning.

She says she just didnt feel safe at school.

I feel like Im in a much safer place with all that happened last year in 2018, said Abigail. I felt reallyuncomfortable going to a brick and mortar school thinking someone could go in there and just end it all, but here I feel safe because Im at the house.

Sophie Taylor has an autoimmune disease which requires her to go to multiple doctors appointments a week. If she were in a traditional school, shes be severely behind. But she says it isnt a walk in the park going to online school. Instead, she has to make sure she stays motivated.

I want to do all my schoolwork, and knowing that I can get all that done in just one day and getting it done as early as I possiblycan keeps me motivated, said Sophie. I know I can work ahead and get it done instead of having to sit in a classroom for eight hours a day. And so, just that standpoint of not having to be rushed all the time really motivates mejust knowing that I have my owntime to do it.

Abigail and four other students enrolled in Connections go to Sophies house every weekday morning to go to school. Sophies house is a classroomof sorts. They start their day around 8 or 9 and start their assignments for the day.

Alissa Pryor is a 6th grade science teacher with Connections. Shes taught many students, including Sophie. She says even though shes online, it doesnt mean she doesnt have a rapport with her students.

Its different from a classroom where you have 30 kids in a room and the craziness, chaos that ensues from that, said Pryor. Im reallyable to build connections with students that are individualized and personal and help them through their journey through school.

Students can reach their teachers in several wayswebmail, texting, calling, and they can even book a time to virtually meet with their teacher.

But the teacher isnt the only adult Connections students havethey also have in-person Learning Coaches.

Sophies mom, Stacy Taylor, is a learning coach. She says it has not only helped her family become closer, but it has helped her reallybecome involved in what her kids are learning in school.

I actuallysee what theyre learning so, you know when people say, Oh this wasnt in that book or theyve added this to the curriculum, I can look at the book and say, No, they havent or Yeah, its there, said Stacy. So, I at least feel I know what theyre doing. Theres a 7-year age gap between my kids. So, with where my boys are at and all the activities theyre in, they wouldnt really know Sophie very well if they had gone to a brick and mortar.

Learning Coach Jennifer Young said she had her own reasons for becoming a coach and enrolling her own kids into Connections.

My husband was going through cancer treatment, so for usI could be available to take him to appointments or my kids could when my son was old enough, he could drive but then not miss his school dayas well, and we have that family time, said Young. It prevented us from worrying about what he might need or when we might need to be available and it allowed us to be just have that family time.

Young says Connections gave her the time together her family needed.

That was reallyimportant when we found out something that drastic that we wanted to be together, said Young. We wanted to be able tospend as much time together as possible and be a part of our childrens lives.

But online learning isnt for everyone. Pryor says a good Learning Coach can make all the difference for a good online learning experience.

If theres not a parent or grandparent at home or aunt, uncle or some trusted adult at home to help that student, its probably not the right place for them, said Pryor. High school students can be prettyself-sufficient during the day, of course, with no parental help, but they still need a learning coach to guide them through everything, make sure theyre on task. So, definitely students that dont have that strong parental or learning coach support, dont succeedthey dont do well with us.

Even though theres a Learning Coach to helpout, they cant do all the work for the students. The students really learn skills to make them more independent; things like sending their teacher requests to meet when they dont understand something or when they need more help.

Its helping students learn time management skills but also learn a little bit of independence, especially at the middle school level, said Pryor. Thats what we talk about a lot in 6th grade is youre learning how to take charge of your own education and learning when to show up on time and be somewhere when you say youre going to be. A lot of that independence is fostered from being at home and being with your parents learning.

Some think thatenrolling in online learning means kids miss out on the social aspect of school, but for Connections students, thats not the case. Students go on field trips, prom, and they can even get involved in sports leagues just for online learning students.

Connections Academy is just one option for online learning in Indiana. There are many other options available for students.

Dreaming of an Early Retirement? Consider Moving to One of …

Posted: at 2:43 pm

Many workers spend years dreaming of the day they can finally retire, and for some, early retirement would be a dream come true.

Approximately 60% of soon-to-be retirees say retirement will be the most liberating phase in their entire life, according to a survey from TD Ameritrade, and 50% of survey respondents said they would like to retire by age 60. However, while many workers want to retire that early, only a third said they expect to be able to do so.

When you're saving for retirement, a lot of focus is put on saving enough to meet your financial needs. But another factor to consider is whether you can lower your costs in retirement. By living a less expensive lifestyle, you can retire earlier and live more comfortably without breaking the bank.

General living costs will likely be your most significant expense in retirement, and those costs are largely impacted by where you live. Move to one of these more wallet-friendly cities, and you may be able to save enough to retire early.

If you're looking to move to a community designed specifically for retirees, you can't beat Sun City. The median home value in the city is around $180,000, according to Zillow -- much less than the median U.S. home value of $229,000.

Once you start collecting Social Security benefits, you won't pay any state income taxes on them in Arizona. While you shouldn't rely too much on Social Security in retirement, the tax break can help save some money.

The general cost of living is slightly higher in Sun City than the national average, but the city has plenty of activities for retirees. With various clubs, events, and other recreational activities, it's easy to keep yourself busy during retirement while sticking to a budget. And because you'll be surrounded by other retirees your age, it will be easier to make friends and find ways to stay occupied without spending too much money.

This is key if you're planning to retire early because you'll likely have decades of free time. If you spend all your free time traveling or learning expensive new hobbies, there's a good chance you'll blow through your retirement savings too quickly.

There's a reason why the Sunshine State is such a popular retirement destination. Not only does it have beautiful beaches and nearly year-round sunny weather, but Florida residents don't pay state income taxes on Social Security benefits -- making it one of the more tax-friendly retirement destinations.

There are several cities in Florida that make for ideal retirement destinations, but Fort Meade is one of the most affordable. The median household income is just under $60,000 per year -- nearly $20,000 more per year than the national average -- yet the city has a relatively low cost of living. Themedian home value in Fort Meade is just $108,000, and the overall cost of living isnearly 20% lower than the national average.

A small town with a population of less than 6,000 residents, Fort Meade is a good option for those looking for a quieter retirement. Yet the city is also only an hour's drive from Tampa, so there are still plenty of entertainment options when you're itching to get out of the house for a day trip.

Idaho may seem like an odd retirement choice, but it has potential to be the perfect retirement destination for many people. Just over a third of people who have moved to Idaho in 2018 said their primary reason for moving was to retire, according to a survey from United Van Lines, and the state is one of the most popular destinations in the country for those looking to relocate.

Idaho Falls has the best of both worlds in that it's a relatively big city with plenty of amenities, yet the cost of living falls close to 10% below the national average. Idaho is also among the states that does not tax Social Security benefits, so the tax advantage can help your retirement income go further.

The city has plenty of museums, restaurants, and other social activities, so you'll have no shortage of ways to enjoy your retirement in Idaho Falls. The city is also a nature lover's dream, with miles of hiking trails along the Snake River and beautiful scenery, complete with the city's famous waterfalls. For those on the adventurous side, you can even visit Wilderness Ridge Trail Llamas to enjoy a hike through the mountains from the back of a llama.

Before retiring early to move across the country on a new adventure, be sure to do your due diligence and decide whether it's the best retirement option for you. If you're determined to retire early, take a close look at your savings to see just how early you're able to retire.

Don't forget about healthcare costs and Social Security benefits, too. You're not eligible to enroll in Medicare until age 65, and the earliest you can begin claiming Social Security is age 62. Also, there's a possibility that Social Security benefits could be cut in the next few decades. So as you're planning for retirement, make sure you're not going to be relying too heavily on your benefits to cover your expenses.

If you've decided that early retirement is right for you, make sure to do your research before moving to a new city. Take a couple of weeks to visit your prospective new town to find out whether you could see yourself living there. Try to live like a local and see whether it feels like home. Do you fit in with your prospective new community? Does the city have enough amenities to keep you busy in retirement? Will your friends and family be able to visit? Giving your new city a trial run can ensure you're happy there before you start packing your bags.

Not everyone can retire early, but it's not impossible. You'll likely need to supercharge your savings to make sure you have enough to last several decades, but lowering your costs by moving to a less expensive city can also help your money last longer -- and create a more enjoyable retirement for decades to come.

Nicki Minaj retires: Nicki Minaj announces retirement to …

Posted: at 2:43 pm

Nicki Minaj may have once had "Barbie Dreams," but now she's setting her sights on something else: A family. The 10-time Grammy-nominated rapper announced her plan to retire Thursday on Twitter.

"I've decided to retire & have my family," she wrote. "I know you guys are happy now." The performer added a note to fans with lyrics from her rap in the remix of the Alicia Keys hit "Girl on Fire."

"To my fans, keep reppin me, do it til da death of me," she wrote, "[sic: X] in the box- cuz ain't nobody checkin me. Love you for LIFE." The star added a kissy face, heart and unicorn emoji. The tweet has since been deleted.

Many of Minaj's fans and fellow musicians seemed shocked by the decision. "Very busy prepping my new video but @NICKIMINAJ you better not retire! I love you! K bye," wrote singer Todrick Hall on Twitter. Rapper Young M.A tweeted simply, "You must be hacked?"

On Friday, Minaj posted a new tweet apologizing for the "abrupt & insensitive" nature of the announcement.

"I'm still right here. Still madly in love with you guys & you know that. In hindsight, this should've been a Queen Radio discussion & it will be. I promise u guys will be happy. No guests, just us talking about everything. The tweet was abrupt & insensitive, I apologize babe," she wrote, with heart and prayer emojis added at the end.

In August, the rapper revealed she planned to marry boyfriend Kenneth Petty in "about 80 days" on an episode of herQueen Radioshow, reports People. However, she added that she didn't want a big wedding anytime soon.

"I have to work on my album and I have a lot to focus on that I don't want to do the big wedding now," she said. "We'll do the big wedding later."

Minaj also confirmed the pair got their first marriage license in June on her radio show.

The 36-year-old "MotorSport" rapper appeared to become Instagram official with Petty in December, reports Entertainment Tonight. While Minaj seems smitten, Petty's criminal history, he's a alevel two registered sex offenderin New York, has garnered criticism from some of the star's fans.

While Minaj hasn't released an album since 2018, she teased an upcoming fifth album earlier this summer on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon." She was also featured on Megan Thee Stallion's song "Hot Girl Summer," which wasreleased in August.

Nicki Minaj’s ‘Retirement’ Makes No Sense, Blindsided Everyone

Posted: at 2:43 pm

Exclusive

9:04 AM PT -- Nicki's addressing fans she upset with Thursday's retirement tweet, saying it was "abrupt & insensitive" and apologizing. She says she'll discuss her decision on "Queen Radio" soon and she's confident it will make people happy ... but she doesn't say she's taking it back. Stay tuned!

Nicki Minaj's retirement announcement not only came out of nowhere, but it absolutely doesn't add up -- as in it doesn't seem real -- based on her recent actions ... so say sources close to her.

TMZ's learned Nicki has been busy in the studio working on new music in recent weeks and on top of that ... we're told she made plans to record with several artists just in the past few days.

Our sources say Minaj has a lot of songs already in the can, and despite saying on Thursday she's retiring in order to "have my family" -- she still has studio time booked until next month.

So, why the sudden decision to hang it up? We're told Nicki's been growing increasingly fed up with internet trolls who've been harassing her lately, and finally reached a boiling point.

Our sources say the rapper was pushed over the edge by constantly defending herself over accusations of not writing her own songs, questions about her hip-hop legacy ... and her relationship with her fiance, Kenneth Petty. BTW, rumor is she's already Mrs. Petty, but that's another thing Nicki's tired of discussing.

The good news for the Barbs ... we're told those close to Nicki believe she's just taking a much-needed break from the haters and simply needs a moment to chill and reevaluate. As we told you ... DJ Paul agrees.

One more thing -- Minaj's comment about family got many wondering if she's pregnant. We're told she's not ... yet.

What Do Buddhists Mean by … – Learn Religions

Posted: September 8, 2019 at 1:49 am

Most people have heard that the Buddha was enlightened and that Buddhists seek enlightenment. But what does that mean?"Enlightenment" is an English word that can mean several things. In the West, the Age of Enlightenment was a philosophical movement of the 17th and 18th centuries that promoted science and reason over myth and superstition, so in Western culture, enlightenment is often associated with intellect and knowledge. But Buddhist enlightenment is something else.

To add to the confusion, "enlightenment" has been used as the translation for several Asian words that don't mean the same thing. For example, several decades ago English speakers were introduced to Buddhism through the writing of D.T. Suzuki (1870-1966), a Japanese scholar who had lived for a time as a Rinzai Zen monk. Suzuki used "enlightenment" to translate the Japanese word satori, derived from the verb satoru, "to know."

This translation was not without justification. But in usage, satori usually refers to an experience of insight into the true nature of reality. It has been compared to the experience of opening a door, but to open a door still implies a separation from what's inside the door. Partly through Suzuki's influence, the idea of spiritual enlightenment as a sudden, blissful, transformative experience became embedded in Western culture. However, that's misleading.

Although Suzuki and some of the first Zen teachers in the West explained enlightenment as an experience that one can have at moments, most Zen teachers and Zen texts tell you that enlightenment is not an experience but a permanent state: a stepping through the door permanently. Not even satori is enlightenment itself. In this, Zen is in alignment with how enlightenment is viewed in other branches of Buddhism.

Bodhi, a Sanskrit and Pali word that means "awakening," also is often translated as "enlightenment."

In Theravada Buddhism, bodhi is associated with the perfection of insight into the Four Noble Truths, which end dukkha (suffering, stress, dissatisfaction). The person who has perfected this insight and abandoned all defilements is an arhat, one who is liberated from the cycle of samsara, or endless rebirth. While alive, he enters a sort of conditional nirvana, and at death, he enjoys the peace of complete nirvana and escape from the cycle of rebirth.

Most of us perceive the things and beings around us as distinctive and permanent. But this view is a projection. Instead, the phenomenal world is an ever-changing nexus of causes and conditions or Dependent Origination. Things and beings, empty of self-essence, are neither real nor not real: the doctrine of The Two Truths. Thoroughly perceiving sunyata dissolves the fetters of self-clinging that cause our unhappiness. The dual way of distinguishing between self and other yields to a permanent nondual outlook in which all things are interrelated.

In Mahayana Buddhism, the idea of practice is that of the bodhisattva, the enlightened being who remains in the phenomenal world to bring all to enlightenment. The bodhisattva ideal is more than altruism; it reflects the reality that none of us is separate. "Individual enlightenment" is an oxymoron.

A branch of Mahayana Buddhism, the Tantric schools of Vajrayana Buddhism, believes that enlightenment can come all at once in a transformative moment. This goes hand-in-hand with the belief in Vajrayana that the various passions and hindrances of life, rather than being obstacles, can be fuel for transformation into enlightenment that can occurin a single moment, or at least in this lifetime. Key to this practice is a belief in inherent Buddha Nature, the innate perfection of our inner natures that simply waits for us to recognize it.This belief in the ability to achieve enlightenment instantly is not the same as the Sartori phenomenon, however. For Vajrayana Buddhists, enlightenment is not a glimpse through the door but a permanent state.

According to legend, when the Buddha realized enlightenment he said something to the effect of "Isn't it remarkable! All beings are already enlightened!" This state is what is known asBuddha Nature, which forms a core part of Buddhist practice in some schools. In Mahayana Buddhism, Buddha Nature is the inherent Buddhahood of all beings. Because all beings are already Buddha, the task is not to attain enlightenment but to realize it.

The Chinese master Huineng (638-713), the Sixth Patriarch of Ch'an (Zen), compared Buddhahood to a moon obscured by clouds. The clouds represent ignorance and defilements. When these are dropped away, the moon, already present, is revealed.

What about those sudden, blissful, transformative experiences? You may well have had these moments and felt you were onto something spiritually profound. Such an experience, while pleasant and sometimes accompanied by genuine insight,is not, by itself, enlightenment. For most practitioners, a blissful spiritual experience not grounded in the practice of the Eightfold Path to achieve enlightenment will not likely be transformative. Chasing blissful states can itself become a form of desire and attachment, and the path toward enlightenment is to surrender clinging and desire.

Zen teacher Barry Magid said of Master Hakuin, in "Nothing Is Hidden":

The teacher and monk Shunryu Suzuki (1904-1971) said of enlightenment:

Both legend and documented evidence suggestthat skilled practitioners and enlightened beings may be capable of extraordinary, even supernatural mental powers. However, these skills are not evidence of enlightenment, nor are they somehow essential to it. Here, too, we are warned not to chase these mental skills at the risk of mistaking the finger pointing at the moon for the moon itself.

If you wonder if you have become enlightened, it is almost certain you have not. The only way to test one's insight is to present it to a dharma teacher. Don't be dismayed if your achievement falls apart under a teacher's scrutiny. False starts and mistakes are anecessary part of the path, and if and when you achieve enlightenment, it will be built on a solid foundation and you will have no mistake about it.

What Is Self-Awareness and How Does It … – Verywell Mind

Posted: at 1:45 am

Self-awareness involves being aware of different aspects of the self including traits, behaviors, and feelings. Essentially, it is a psychological state in which oneself becomes the focus ofattention.

Self-awareness is one of the first components of theself-conceptto emerge. While self-awareness is something that is central to who you are, it is not something that you are acutely focused onat every moment of every day. Instead, self-awareness becomes woven into the fabric of who you are and emerges at different points depending on the situation and your personality.

People are not born completely self-aware. Yet research has also found that infants do have a rudimentary sense of self-awareness. Infants possess the awareness that they are a separate being from others, which is evidenced by behaviors such as the rooting reflex in which an infant searches for a nipple when something brushes against his or her face. Researchers have also found that even newborns are able to differentiate between self- and non-self touch.

Studies have demonstrated that a more complex sense of the awareness of the self begins to emerge at around one year of age and becomes much more developed by approximately 18 months of age.

Researchers Lewis and Brooks-Gunn performed studies looking at how self-awareness develops. The researchers applied a red dot to an infant's nose and then held the child up to a mirror. Children who recognized themselves in the mirror would reach for their own noses rather than the reflection in the mirror, which indicated that they had at least some level of self-awareness.

Lewis and Brooks-Gunn found that almost no children under one year of age would reach for their own nose rather than the reflection in the mirror. About 25 percent of the infants between 15 and 18 months reached for their own noses while about 70 percent of those between 21 and 24 months did so.

It is important to note that the Lewis and Brooks-Gunn study only indicates an infant's visual self-awareness; children might actually possess other forms of self-awareness even at this early point in life. For example, researchers Lewis, Sullivan, Stanger, and Weiss suggested thatexpressing emotionsinvolves self-awareness as well as an ability to think about oneself in relation to other people.

Researchers have proposed that an area of the brain known as the anterior cingulate cortexlocated in thefrontal lobe region plays an important role in developing self-awareness. Studies have also used brain imaging to show that this region becomes activated in adults who are self-aware. The Lewis and Brooks-Gunn experiment suggests that self-awareness begins to emerge in children around the age of 18 months, an age that coincides with the rapid growth of spindle cells in the anterior cingulate cortex.

However, one study found that a patient retained self-awareness even with extensive damage to areas of the brain including the insula and the anterior cingulate cortex. This suggests that these areas of the brain are not required for most aspects of self-awareness and that awareness may instead arise from interactions distributed among brain networks.

So how exactly do children become aware of themselves as separate beings? Researchers suggest that children progress through a series of levels of self-awareness between birth and approximately age 4 or 5. Self-awareness is observed by how children respond to their own reflection in a mirror.

Level 1: Differentiation - At this point, children start to become aware that what it reflected in a mirror is different from what they simply perceive in the environment.

Level 2: Situation - This level of self-awareness is characterized by a growing understandingthat self-produced movements can be seen in the mirror's surface. Children are also aware that it is their own movements they are observing.

Level 3: Identification - At this point, children recognizethe image in the mirror as themselves rather than someone else staring back at them.

Level 4: Permanence - Children can not only identify themselves reflected in a mirror, they can also identify their own image in pictures and home movies.

Level 5: Self-consciousness or "meta" self-awareness - At this level, children are not only aware of themselves from their own perspective, but also become aware of how they are in the minds of others.

Psychologists often break self-awareness down into two different types, either public or private.

This type emerges when people are aware of how they appear to others. Public self-awareness often emerges in situations when people are at the center of attention, such as when giving a presentation or talking to a group of friends.

This type of self-awareness often compels people to adhere to social norms. When we are aware that we are being watched and evaluated, we often try to behave in ways that are socially acceptable and desirable.

Public self-awareness can also lead to evaluation anxiety in which people become distressed, anxious, or worried about how they are perceived by others.

This type happens when people become aware of some aspects of themselves, but only in a private way.

For example, seeing your face in the mirror is a type of private self-awareness. Feeling your stomach lurch when you realize you forgot to study for an important test or feeling your heart flutter when you see someone you are attracted to are also examples of private self-awareness.

Sometimes, people can become overly self-aware and veer into what is known as self-consciousness.

Have you ever felt like everyone was watching you, judging your actions, and waiting to see what you will do next? This heightened state of self-awareness can leave you feeling awkward and nervous in some instances.

In a lot of cases, these feelings of self-consciousness are only temporary and arise in situations when we are "in the spotlight."For some people, however, excessive self-consciousness can reflect a chronic condition such as social anxiety disorder.

People who are privately self-conscious have a higher level of private self-awareness, which can be both a good and bad thing. These people tend to be more aware of their feelings and beliefs, and are therefore more likely to stick to their personal values. However, they are also more likely to suffer from negative health consequences such as increased stress and anxiety.

People who are publicly self-conscious have a higher level of public self-awareness. They tend to think more about how other people view them and are often concerned that other people might be judging them based on their looks or their actions. As a result, these individuals tend to stick to group norms and try to avoid situations in which they might look bad or feel embarrassed.

A Word From Verywell

Self-awareness plays a critical role in how we understand ourselves and how we relate to others and the world. Being self-aware allows you to evaluate yourself in relation to others. For people who have an extremely high sense of self-awareness, excessive self-consciousness can result. If you feel that you are struggling with self-consciousness that is having a negative influence on your life, discuss your symptoms with your doctor to learn more about what you can do to cope with these feelings.
