While they may not all be fully vegan, many are making eco-travel easier.

For those who need to get away, here are 16 hotels and resorts from Hawaii to upstate New York that are making eco-travel easier than ever.

The accommodations listed below are immensely vegan-friendly, pet-friendly, and eco-conscious. However, while there may not be a vegan bed and breakfast or luxury resort at every travel destination, some lodgings are more vegan-friendly than others.

When looking for a hotel, the first thing we do is look at the Experiences or Specials tab. For example, St. Julien in Boulder, CO isnt exclusively vegan, but it does offer a Very Vegan experience that alerts the hotel to take every measure to ensure your stay is in alignment with your lifestyle, from the food to the mini bottles of hand lotion.

The next telling sign of a vegan-friendly hotel is the inclusion of a dedicated vegan menu at one of the property restaurants. The Peninsula in Beverly Hills offers a fully plant-based menu for dinner as well as consistent vegan options on its breakfast and lunch menus.

Its important to point out that the travel and tourism industry is becoming more vegan-friendly and eco-friendly all over the world. As the weather begins to warm up, there are plenty of ways to stay in shape and shake things up by getting outdoors.

Its important to never have a zero-day when it comes to physical activity, Mitchel Black, owner of STRONGSIDE, a gym wth locations in Woodstock, Canton, and Roswell told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Black stresses doing anything above the minimum can count as exercising, even outside.

Park far away, walk up a hill, take the stairs, get out of breath for about 20 minutes each day, Black said.

Black offers a Legends program at STRONGSIDE specifically for people 55 and older. Each class has a warm-up, strength session, and workout with a special coach trained to work with this age group. They take their workout outside when the weather permits.

If the gym isnt your speed, an easy way to get outdoors and get the body moving safely is to go for a long walk. There are plenty of easier trails around Atlanta for those who want distance over difficulty. If you want more of a workout for your heart, try out trails that offer a little more diversity in terrain.

If you prefer exercising outdoors by playing a sport and havent tried pickleball yet, it might be time to look for a local league. The popularity of this sport has continued to grow.

As a person who has always enjoyed and played a variety of sports, pickleball sparked my interest, and I have enthusiastically encouraged people to give it a try, Mike Levin told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

At 74, Levin considers himself to be in the best physical condition of my life, and plays pickleball at least three times a week.

Among the reasons Levin gravitates toward the sport, he cites its health benefits, how easy it is to learn, the low-pressure stakes of playing, and that its a fun way to meet people while being active.

I get a full-body workout that provides pleasure and rewards. It makes me feel energized, happy, and excited, Levin said.

Yoga is yet another way to exercise indoors or out.

Seniors can gain both flexibility and mobility from practicing yoga, depending on which specific practice they choose, Alena Levine, E-RYT 500, YACEP, lead yoga trainer told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Levine is an instructor at Peach Out Power Yoga in Marietta and the owner of Heartwell Retreats, which combines yoga practice with the sanctity of nature.

Yoga is all about finding the right type of movement and setting a personal intention at the start of each practice, Levine said.

Its also about finding an instructor who offers positivity and shows compassion. Class choice should depend on your personal history and what daily activities you already do, says Levine. If youre looking for a flow that focuses primarily on muscles, try a yang class. Yin classes work on muscles, too, but also bring in a focus on the connective tissues in the body.

Levin includes yoga in his workout routine in addition to pickleball because of the opportunity to take classes outdoors.

Being outdoors helps release stress levels and helps me stay focused, Levin said.

Look for classes held in parks or near lakes around Atlanta for a quieter way to connect your yoga practice of mind and body with a natural setting.

Whether its a more active workout or something that helps you find calm while moving, you can find additional benefits to taking that exercise outside.

Being outside gets you to connect with you, Black said. It gives you that mental clarity thats a big piece to being successful in exercise.

However, if the altcoin falls back below the $330 support, it will fall into the previous range zone.

BNB has been in the bullish trend zone since its return on February 15. The altcoin will continue to rise as long as the price bars remain above the moving average lines. In the meantime, the horizontal moving average lines are sloping upwards, indicating an uptrend.

But heres the thing about procrastination its a thief. It steals time, productivity and ultimately, your potential to grow.

As we age, time becomes more precious. And each moment spent procrastinating is a moment lost forever.

If you want to become a better person as you age, its time to say goodbye to the Ill do it later mentality.

As the founder of Hack Spirit, Ive heard a good deal of advice on how to succeed in life. The most common phrase? Work really hard and youll succeed. Thats what everyone seems to believe. But as someone whos written a best-selling book on mindfulness and eastern philosophy, Ive come to realize that sheer hard work isnt the be-all and end-all.

Now, dont get me wrong hard work is important. But theres more to achieving success than just grinding away relentlessly. After countless conversations, research, and personal experiences, Ive found that there are other, often overlooked elements that play crucial roles in our journey to success.

I spent a month testing these less conventional methods letting go of the constant hustle, focusing on self-awareness, mindfulness and prioritizing personal wellbeing. The results were surprising, even to me.

Taking a step back from the societal norm of relentless hard work was not easy. But I was determined to explore a more mindful and holistic approach to success. So, I set out on a month-long journey, focusing on three key elements that often get sidelined in our quest for achievement.

While it was a significant shift from the constant hustle I was used to, these practices brought about a sense of balance and clarity that I hadnt experienced before.

The results of this month-long experiment were nothing short of transformative. Yes, it was initially uncomfortable to step away from the constant grind and hustle. But what unfolded was a renewed sense of purpose and joy that I hadnt felt in years.

Firstly, my self-awareness through journaling helped me identify what truly mattered to me. No longer was I chasing someone elses definition of success, but my own. I discovered strengths and passions that had been overshadowed by the noise of constant work.

Practicing mindfulness brought a profound sense of calm to my days. I learned to appreciate the present moment, which in turn reduced stress and anxiety. It was no longer about rushing to the finish line, but enjoying the journey.

Finally, prioritizing personal wellbeing made me realize that success isnt worth compromising health and happiness. Regular exercise, proper nutrition, good sleep and leisure time rejuvenated me. I became more productive, creative and content in my work.

In retrospect, I can see how my old belief that hard work is the sole key to success was skewed. Its now clear that a more balanced approach not only leads to success but also enriches the journey towards it.

Before this journey, I was certain that success equated to long hours, constant hustle, and an unwavering commitment to work. I believed that by pushing myself to the limit, Id reach the pinnacle of success.

But this month-long experiment turned my expectations on their head. Rather than leading to burnout and dissatisfaction, as I had half-expected, this holistic approach brought a renewed sense of fulfillment. The results were not just visible in my work, but also in my personal life and overall wellbeing.

I realized success isnt just about financial gain or professional accolades. Its also about personal growth, happiness, and a sense of fulfillment. Reflecting on this now, it seems so obvious. And yet, it took stepping away from the traditional narrative to truly understand it.

Now that weve debunked the popular belief and realigned our expectations with reality, lets delve into the most valuable lesson learned from this journeya lesson that could potentially redefine your perspective on success.

Deciding to step back from the relentless hustle and embrace a more balanced approach to success wasnt easy. It required realigning my views and challenging the societal narrative. But let me tell you, it was worth it.

If youve found yourself caught in the whirlwind of constant work, feeling stressed and unfulfilled, I want to extend an invitation to you. Try stepping back. Cultivate self-awareness, practice mindfulness, and prioritize your wellbeing.

It may feel counterintuitive at first. You might worry about falling behind or not achieving your goals. But remember, real success isnt just about the destinationits also about the journey.

And in this journey, its okay to slow down. Its okay to take care of yourself. Its okay to enjoy the present moment. Because ultimately, success is not just about working hardits about working smart, living well, and enjoying life along the way.

As I reflect on this journey, I am reminded of certain principles that have guided me throughout my life. Principles that, in retrospect, seem so relevant to what weve just been exploring. These include:

Embracing mindfulness: This journey has taught me the value of living in the present moment and appreciating the journey rather than just focusing on the destination.

Prioritizing self-improvement: This experiment was, in essence, a personal growth challenge. It forced me to step out of my comfort zone and reassess my understanding of success.

Valuing mental well-being: A key part of this new approach was prioritizing my mental health. I discovered that well-being and success are not mutually exclusive but rather intertwined.

Letting go of unnecessary attachments: I had to let go of the societal narrative that equates success with hard work alone. This was not easy, but it was necessary for growth and transformation.

Balance idealism with realism: Its important to aim high but also remain grounded. Success is about finding that sweet spot between aspiration and practicality.

I hope sharing my journey has given you some food for thought. Perhaps it has challenged your own beliefs and expectations about success. Remember, its okay to redefine what success means to you and seek a balance that not only brings professional achievement but also personal fulfillment and happiness.

Mindfulness and Meditation Club Emerges at PennWest California – Cal Times

Many college students experience persistent stress and anxiety, eagerly seeking a release. Many long for a space that would allow them to be fully present, fully engaged and without worry. But when the demands of college seem too great to overcome, a certain psychology professor may be able to provide some guidance.

Professor Michael Baranski floated the idea of a Mindfulness and Meditation Club in the spring 2023 semester. After many discussions and collaboration between students, the club will officially become a reality this spring.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly three out of four students have experienced a sense of overwhelming anxiety at some time. Mindfulness, though unfamiliar to some, may be a solution to this problem.

To some degree, there is no goal. There is no single definition of mindfulness, Baranski said. But one way that I like to think about it is clearly observing your consciousness, whatever makes up your mind right now, as youre aware that it happens.

Attending college brings a high level of judgment, explains Baranski. Students are being judged on what they learn, and what they intend to do with what they learn in the new future. They experience the stress of a new environment and unfamiliar people.

Who you were in high school and living with your family might be very different from who you are in this new environment youre in, said Baranski. A lot of people feel isolated when theyre in that unfamiliar place, or have trouble connecting.

Connection is an important theme surrounding mindfulness. The solution to the challenges faced by many students could lie in simply connecting with oneself and the environment.

This is what mindfulness means to senior Josh Gutierrez, a student who worked with Baranski to lay the groundwork of the club.

Often, we identify with our thoughts, Gutierrez said. When we are identified with our thoughts, we get carried away into thought patterns, often negative. Mindfulness allows us to connect with the present in order to create meaning in our everyday lives.

Student Amy Grosser, a member of the new club, expressed that the aspect of mindfulness that she has benefited from most is non-judgement.

Learning to extend compassion to yourself and be kind to yourself is huge no matter who you are, said Grosser. Theres also an aspect of impermanence, which leads into the idea that failure isnt final. Just because you got a bad grade on that one paper or test doesnt mean your entire story for that class or semester is written.

Beyond the space in which PennWests Mindfulness and Meditation Club exists, students and professors alike can incorporate mindfulness into their personal lives. Baranski himself employs these ideas in his own classroom.

When I taught a Senior Seminar about mindfulness and meditation that was a big part of it, said Baranski. Lets not just learn about it, but lets experience it. For other classes, I certainly advocate for it.

Baranski explains that there is a science behind his methods, too.

Theres research showing that if you do a few minutes of mindfulness before a course lecture, youll learn more from that lecture, said Baranski. We dont know precisely why; maybe your mind wanders less, or maybe noticing when youre distracted. If youre feeling stressed and overwhelmed, it wont necessarily just take that away. But it helps you relate to it and manage it differently.

Gutierrez expressed that meditation is one of the most important things he has incorporated into his life.

I think the benefits of meditation are only beginning to be discovered by the human sciences. If creating a community of students to discuss, learn, and practice meditation at PennWest is a fraction of the importance to campus life as the meditation has been for me, then we have to do it.

Classy and sophisticated people generally carry themselves with grace, right? Theyre also polite and considerate of others.

Being classy is more about behavior and attitude than material possessions. You can be classy and poor, the same as you can be rich and trashy.

If you have a hunch youre classy and sophisticated, lets get to the bottom of it once and for all.

Here are the personality signs and behaviors that show youre a classy and sophisticated person, even if you dont realize it.

Youre the person who says please and thank you genuinely. Holding doors open, giving up your seat for someone in need, and being aware of others personal space are part of your daily interactions.

And when we imagine a sophisticated person in our minds, we do imagine them like that, dont we?

Its basically class 101.

If you fail to do this, youre far from refinement. You can have all the money in the world, but if youre disrespectful to others and treat them as doormats, to me, youre sub-human.

But what else do we imagine when we picture a classy person?

Although the suit doesnt make a man, clothing choices are important in many situations.

If you wear classic pieces more than brief trends, youre also classy. For example, a well-fitted white shirt, a tailored blazer, or a little black dress are staples and give off an effortlessly chic and timeless vibe.

Trends come and go, but sophisticated people dont worry about them. They have a closet full of items that never go out of fashion.

And even this very mindset puts them in this desired category of people.

You know, wealthy people dont buy expensive art just to launder money. They also do it when they want to be seen as classy.

Its simply because we associate appreciation for fine art and class. But also because most regular people dont care for things like that at all.

So, whether its enjoying a well-written book, attending live performances, or spending an afternoon at an art gallery, you find joy in the arts.

You appreciate the emotions and stories behind each piece, right? And if you could stare at art or listen to classical music for hours, youre sophisticated, even if you dont realize it.

Exploring different cuisines is about trying something new. But its also about savoring the flavors and appreciating the craftsmanship behind a well-prepared dish.

Fine cuisine is typically very expensive, but you enjoy a balance of flavors and appreciate the artistry of a beautifully plated meal.

Now, I do appreciate a nice meal, but I dont live to eat. I eat to live.

Still, even I can appreciate the amount of love and finesse that goes into preparing such meals, even when you get a small piece of something on your plate.

Okay, all joking aside, heres something that I find more important than most other people.

I simply hate it when people are late. If I can be there 10 minutes before a date, appointment, or meeting, so can everyone else.

Being on time shows respect for others schedules. When you value your time and acknowledge that others do, too, being punctual is a way of honoring that mutual commitment.

Its also a sign of sophistication.

And still, Im constantly waiting for others wherever I go.

Now, if I learned one thing in these 40 years on Earth, its that people dont change. Thats why I dont hold my breath waiting for others to show up anymore.

I now use the time when Im waiting for others to show up to read passages from a book.

And dont tell anyone, but most of the time, I pray for them not to show up so I can continue reading the book.

Being generous and considerate, always thinking of others, adds a beautiful touch to your interactions and relationships.

Whether its a small gesture or a thoughtful gift, you believe in the joy of giving without expecting anything in return.

Thats because you can put yourself in others shoes, understanding their emotions and experiences.

And that also helps you with the following:

Youre not just a small talk person. You dive deep into topics that matter to you by sharing thoughts and listening actively.

That also means that meaningful connections are more important to you than surface-level chit-chat.

And thats how it should be for most people, right?

Dont you just hate it when someone mentions the weather or last nights game or something like that?

I much prefer to ask one of the questions from my arsenal that helps others open up and lets us connect more deeply.

If youre a classy and sophisticated person, your living space reflects your personality. Its tidy, with a touch of sophistication.

Each item has its place, and your decor choices are intentional, creating an inviting and comfortable atmosphere.

Now again, this doesnt mean the furniture or the artwork has to be expensive, it just means you arranged your home in a way that makes sense and looks timeless.

Okay, having a nice home is great and all, but this next thing really sets you apart.

Sadly, most people stop learning new things as soon as they step outside of high school or college.

But not you. Whether its learning a new skill or attaining knowledge in a specific area, youre always seeking self-improvement.

Personal growth is an endless journey for you.

And that, in my opinion, is another sign of class. When youre hungry for knowledge and not for material things, youll live an interesting and well-thought-out life.

Life is often very unfair and leaves us asking, Why me? right? But lately, I started flipping the script and started asking the same question when something nice and beautiful happened to me.

I then realize that Im simply the sum of my lifelong behavior, actions, and choices, coupled with a random thing happening here and there.

9 times out of 10, I know things will work out. And thats why I almost never lose my cool.

The other 10% of the time, I dont have control over the situation anyway, so theres also no need for me to worry about it.

So, if youre like me and, when faced with adversity, you maintain your cool, youre, in fact, classy.

You can stay calm under pressure, which allows you to think rationally and find solutions instead of getting overwhelmed.

You know, theres a sofa I always wanted to have in my apartment. However, its super expensive, and Ive never had a lot of money.

Still, I knew I needed to have it eventually. In the meantime, I insisted on not getting rid of my barely-held-together old couch I had forever as a reminder and an incentive to work harder and earn more.

As a minimalist, this piece of furniture was supposed to be one of the last big things I ever buy.

And now that I have it, I think of all the hard work and successful things Ive done almost every time I sit on it.

Most classy people would rather own a few high-quality items than a multitude of cheaper alternatives.

Its not about having more; its about having the best that suits your needs.

So, in the end, we can conclude that being classy and sophisticated is all in your mind. If you have the mental capacity and upbringing to treat others with respect, have good manners, dress well, keep your cool, and express yourself clearly and thoughtfully, you are classy.

Even if you havent realized it yet.

Here, Bridget March meets Elle Macpherson, the world-renowned supermodel and founder of WelleCo, which produces premium plant-based supplements born from her personal self-care journey. Below, the 59-year-old reveals the things that make the biggest difference to her wellbeing.

Elle Macphersons moniker The Body may have originated as praise of her physicality, but its long been a business asset for the supermodel with body wellness brands central to her career off the catwalks. Since finding fame as one of the original 'Supers' in the 1980s, the Australian star went on to produce a series of workout videos, front her own lingerie collection and launch a range of bath and body care products. But its her brand of wellness supplements, WelleCo, thats her most personal project to date. Founded in 2014 with formulator Dr Simone Laubscher, she started WelleCo to share the solutions that helped her flourish Macphersons health upon starting out being less desirable than one would imagine...

When I went to Dr Laubscher [a functional nutritionist and naturopath], I was sugar- and coffee-addicted, malnourished yet putting on weight, and bloated. I wasn't sleeping well, didn't have energy and was uninspired, she tells me. A specialist in longevity, Dr Laubscher curated a multivitamin and mineral supplement packed with nutrients for Macpherson, which materialised as WelleCos hero product,

From self-loving affirmations to infrared saunas, here Macpherson reveals what it is exactly that makes her feel so well.

I start the day with self-loving affirmations. Its a sensation of gratitude, really. I say things to like: I am awake, I'm vital, I am inspired, I'm excited for my day, rather than immediately just scrolling through Instagram, which so many people do. I don't touch my phone until I'm ready to address whatever is there.

I get up and drink a big jar of water that I prepare the night before with freshly squeezed lime and a quarter of a teaspoon of Celtic sea salt so before anything Im completely hydrating my body. And then I like to make an oat-milk matcha (Elmhurst Barista has a really good clean oat milk, with a ceremonial grade matcha) and then I go and sit out in the sun at around seven oclock for 10 minutes. I put my face up to the sun, close my eyes and listen to the sounds of nature, preferably with as little clothes on as possible depending on the weather.

And then I might do some yoga poses like sun salutations. Zach Bush has a fantastic four-minute workout [shared below], which releases nitric acid into the body, so it helps your muscles function properly. I also try to put my bare feet on the ground not cement.

Then I'll have my shower and get dressed for the day.

I just like movement; I do what I feel like on the day, which could be hiking, biking, swimming, yoga I have a gym at home so sometimes I get on the elliptical or the bike and put on a documentary. Then I'll maybe hang upside down, do squats or use my chi machine, which moves your body, circulating your lymphatic system. I don't really work out to sculpt my body I work out because I believe that breath and movement is so important for our health and wellbeing. And when you do that consistently, it really shows.

Something I much prefer to do over a workout class is a Russian banya. If I'm in London, I like to go to The Bath House. Ill do a steam and cold plunge and the Parenie treatment, where they gently brush your body with birch leaves to improve circulation and the immune system. Its kind of a tribal experience.

After getting dressed I have my greens The Super Elixir, which combines 50 multivitamins and minerals, adaptogens, probiotics and prebiotics. Then from 10am I have a snack of something light but nourishing, like a chia pudding, coconut yogurt or fruit with sprouted almond butter. Then I take supplements for whatever I'm working on: good hair or skin, or immunity, for example.

At around 2pm I often have a big smoothie with everything I can find to put in it, like frozen banana, protein, coconut milk, chia seeds, flax, toka. And then I have my major meal around 4pm. I'm plant-based and follow an Ayurvedic type of diet. I do this not for any weight control, but because I love to be easy on my digestive system and I want the nutrients I consume to be readily available. So, I might have a big brown-rice bowl with avocado and sprouts and sunflower seeds, a curry, pho or sushi. I try to support regenerative farmers and choose things that are organic the quality of the food that I have directly affects the way I feel.

I work quite late with WelleCo because of the time difference with living in Miami, and my head office being in Melbourne. After I finish, I sit in my Therasage portable infrared sauna for an hour. I find this the best time to do body brushing. And then after I've done that I'll do a cold plunge. That's great for the immune system.

The winding-down process at night is important; you cant go from hero to zero quickly. I have a self-loving routine at night which includes turning off devices or wearing blue light-blocking glasses, which is really important for your circadian rhythm. I also make myself The Evening Elixir, which is part of that sleep preparation.

I read a book in bed and then, just before I go to sleep, I fill my whole body with thoughts that support me, such as I'm in perfect health, I am loving consciousness. I also go through the day and recall things that made me laugh, or that touched me, and congratulate myself on the little things that I've accomplished. Don't fill yourself with what you didn't do: fill your heart and soul with all the beautiful things that you want to percolate on while you sleep. They say that the last five minutes before you sleep, and the first five minutes before you wake, are the most important for resetting your subconscious.

Meditation is really just finding that quiet, still space within yourself. I used to do guided meditations because I didn't know how to do that. Now I close my eyes and I practice Reiki; I often go to sleep breathing into the Reiki positions.

Some people like 'box breath' meditations; some people like listening to a piece of classical music and just being transported by it. There are lots of different modes of meditation, but for me meditation is really about connecting with yourself, and with the divine.
