Posted: at 10:16 am
WINAMAC, Ind., March 28, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- BraunAbility, the world leader in personal mobility, is celebrating 40 years of offering its full line of mobility products including wheelchair-accessible vehicles and wheelchair lifts. Throughout the decades, BraunAbility has empowered hundreds of thousands of Americans with disabilities to participate in the activities many people take for granted, such as running errands, commuting to work, visiting friends or taking a family vacation. To honor its customers and inspire people looking for automotive mobility solutions, BraunAbility is highlighting 40 customer success stories throughout its 40th anniversary year on http://www.braunability.com/.
"For 40 years, our company has been driven by our customers' desire to fully participate in everyday life activities," said BraunAbility's president, Nick Gutwein. "We manufacture the safest and most reliable mobility products to give people that freedom. Together with our national network of dealers, we understand the significant impact that mobility can have on the individual, their family and caretakers."
BraunAbility is the only mobility manufacturer that was founded based on a personal need for mobility. The start of the company marked the beginning of a mobility movement that would slowly change the public's perception of people with disabilities. As a young man, founder Ralph Braun was no longer able to get to and from work in his wheelchair, so he created the first electric-powered scooter, and later the first wheelchair accessible vehicle, a converted postal jeep. Ralph's own personal mobility solution paved the road to create BraunAbility, which eventually would change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.
"When I invented my first accessible vehicle, I had no idea it would eventually change the lives of countless other people like me," said Ralph Braun, CEO and founder of BraunAbility. "It's been an incredibly rewarding journey, and I'm looking forward to celebrating 40 years with our employees, dealers and customers. I'm confident BraunAbility will be empowering even more individuals in the next 40 years."
BraunAbility has been the leader in the mobility industry for 40 years, and its commitment to helping individuals with mobility freedom has remained the same. To honor its customers, BraunAbility captured 40 personal stories to highlight the numerous ways BraunAbility products have changed their lives. To highlight just a few:

BraunAbility will select its top three choices, and its Facebook followers will pick the winning selection. The winning submission will receive a $1,000 cash prize along with a $1,000 donation to the disability-related nonprofit of their choice. In addition, the winning bumper stickerwill be available at each BraunAbility dealership nationwide. The contest kicks off on March 28th and will run through May 10th. About The Braun Corporation The Braun Corporation is the world's largest manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans, ramps, and wheelchair lifts worldwide and enables people with physical disabilities to regain mobility and lead active and independent lives. The Indiana-based company was founded by Ralph Braun, who was diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy at a young age and unable to walk by age 15. Ralph's situation motivated him to invent the world's first electric scooter (the Tri-Wheeler) and wheelchair lift (the Lift-A-Way) in his parents' garage. Word spread and demand for the product increased, resulting in the birth of Save-A-Step Manufacturing, which ultimately became The Braun Corporation. The company, via the BraunAbility brand, offers the most diverse model lineup in the industry, including the most popular minivan models from Dodge/Chrysler, Honda, and Toyota. Planning for Success: Achieving Your Financial Goals
Posted: at 10:16 am
Setting goals is not just for New Year's Eve. Setting goals, continuously reviewing your goals and making sure your actions are bringing you closer to those goals is what makes a goal become reality.
This includes both personal goals and work goals and everything in between.
The key is to decide what you want. And when it comes right down to it, a goal is really just that -- a decision.
Decisions, Decisions
Goals come in all shapes and sizes; big and small, long-term and short-term, simple and complex, etc.
Something as simple as waking up and deciding to go to the store that day is a goal. That probably didn't take a lot of planning. But you did have to write down what you needed to get. And organize your day to make sure you could fit that task into your likely already busy schedule. If you have food in your refrigerator, you can take pride in knowing you achieved your goal.
Taking a vacation is a goal. That takes a little more planning. But once you decide you want to take one, all you need to do is determine where you want to go, what you'd like to do and then make the time to do it.
Goals are not wishes. They are decisions. And once you decide to do something, it's amazing how often those 'decisions' come true.
Financial decisions are no different.

Do you become bashful and tongue-tied when in the company of attractive women? Do you want to learn how to converse with women with more confidence? Do you want to learn the secrets of recognizing women's natural 'body language cues'? If all of the above apply to you, then you want to sign up for one of Alan Roger Currie's 'Mode One' Personal Development Workshops for Men. The first workshop is set to take place in Chicago on May 18-20, 2012.
Currie was a featured speaker at The Direct Approach Dating Summit UK that was held in London, England in November, 2010, and he was most recently the headline speaker at the The Direct Approach Dating Summit USA that was held in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 17-18, 2012. Currie's books have been read by men in twenty different countries, and many of his supporters have been asking him about sponsoring a "verbal seduction bootcamp" or something similar.
"A number of my fellow speakers at the last two Direct Dating Summit events I spoke at have their own 'bootcamps' and 'weekend workshops' that cost anywhere from $1,000 to $3,500. Ideally, I want my weekend personal development workshops to be a wee bit more affordable, but I want my participants to leave the workshop feeling like a totally new man. These workshops have been in demand for a while, and finally, I am ready to deliver," said Currie, who in 2009 taught a six-week college-level dating and relationships adult education course in Northwest Indiana entitled, "Dating for 21st Century Singles" that received rave reviews.
The Mode One Personal and Social Development Workshops will focus on improving one's public speaking skills; Improving social interactions and personal conversations with single women of interest; Clothing, grooming, and personal style tips; Learning the secrets of powerful verbal seduction skills; Strategies for improving one's eating and exercise habits; Handling harsh criticisms and negative reactions from women who are "drama queen" types; and recognizing very subtle body language signs and cues from women who may be bashful themselves.
Currie's first workshop will take place in Chicago on May 18-20, 2012. The workshop will run from 8:00pm CST on Friday until approximately 3:00pm CST on Sunday. The tentative venue is the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile Hotel. Later, Currie plans of having workshops in Austin, TX, Los Angeles, Miami, New York City, Bogot, Rio de Janeiro, Montreal, and a number of other cities where the demand is high.
Those men who have already purchased all three of Currie's paperbacks will receive a 10% discount on the registration fee. In addition to being a book author, Currie is also the Host of two popular talk radio podcast programs: "Upfront & Straightforward with Alan Roger Currie" (The #1 most listened to dating and relationships program on BlogTalkRadio) and "The Erotic Conversationalist."

FR dips into future of education with online, hybrid course offerings

Stephanie Pellegrino doesn't have a typical school day.
When the Franklin Regional senior goes to her creative writing or communication class on most days, she doesn't have to worry about what she's wearing or showing up on time.
Instead, Pellegrino can listen to teacher Kristin Giron's lessons from the comfort of her Delmont home and work on "in-class" writing assignments when her creative juices are flowing not at 8 a.m. in the morning.
"You become more independent, and it's on you to get your work done," said Pellegrino, 17. "It definitely gives me a different level of responsibility."
More than 250 students have enrolled in one of Franklin Regional's four for-credit hybrid or online courses since the district began offering the classes in 2009-10. Officials hope that number increases drastically when four more classes are added to the schedule this fall. Honors speech and communications and honors physics will be offered as hybrid courses, while international business and 12th-grade English will be offered as online-only classes in addition to being held in a traditional setting.
"The kids enjoy it and find it challenging," said Roger Crider, the high school's technology coach and a business teacher.
"The content isn't any different (from a face-to-face class), it's just the deliver method."
Crider's online Microsoft Office course is the newest addition to the online offerings, which began with an online wellness course that officials say has been very popular. The courses enable students to add additional classes and different types of learning to their schedule.
For instance, Crider said students who take his Microsoft Office course learn how to communicate differently than in a typical classroom setting.
"It's difficult for a lot of people to communicate online," he said. "It's easy enough to send an email or post something to Twitter, but sometimes it takes two or three emails to be able to get the right question or answer across."
